In order to have some more fun with a huge 128 competitor tournament, I'm holding a Prediction contest at the same time. Anyone can enter this whether you're participating in the actual Smogon Tournament or just observing from the sidelines because of something else (read: YOU SUCK), this is for you! It's also fun as hell, iirc.
Here's how it works.
1. RIGHT NOW, before the round 1 pairings, you will post here predicting the winner. Yup. Straight out. Predict the winner. This will earn you 50 points if you are correct.
2. Every round I will make a new thread for this and list the pairings. Every correct, regular prediction, will earn you 1 point. Every Spotlight match will earn you two points (these will just be the battles I think will be close or contain bitter rivals/rivaling boards). The running totals will be displayed in each round's topic along with the person's predicted winner (kinda like the GFaqs contests, tbh!).
3. You do not have to predict every round, but honestly if you want a shot at winning...
4. Predictions must be posted within a reasonable amount of time each round. Such as, you cannot enter predictions for say, round 3, after that round has been on for like 5 days. If a battle happens right after the pairings are posted, I'll either make every abstain from that prediction or simply make it a gimmie. Once again this is my sole judgment.
5. The final and the battle for third will have something different. You'll predict the scores as well to help make the chances of a tie very unlikely.
Prize: One of those funky Smogon T-shirts that the top 3 from the Tournament are going to receive.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You must give reasons to why you are predicting whoever. And write them out. Nicely. I don't just want to see bolded winners, I want to know WHY you're predicting that person. Put thought into them and explain it (this goes for predicting the winner right now, too). I want people to be able to read them for enjoyment. If you've ever seen Pidgeot500 do predictions you'll understand what I am talking about.
