Hello mon review

:dhelmise: Three typings is cool. It serves as great insurance for Ground types in the future, and has a somewhat decent matchup with the current Ground in the tier. It's main utility is that of a Rapid Spinner that also blocks spin itself, all while having a great matchup with the other two spinners added. It's honestly pretty decent and I can see it aging well. Probably helps that the Garganacl item that gimps Ghosts for Rock types isn't liking a Water and Grass type that fucks it over.

:Blastoise-Mega: Mega Blastoise is a strong asf Mega, complete with a decent SpA, great bulk, and a surprisingly great Speed tier of 98 (out speeds Samuraiai!). Mega Toise will most likely come out as a majorly influencial Pokémon for the foreseeable future, especially as Fighting and Dark type Pokémon becomes more prominent in the tier. As of right now though, it more or less single handly bricks the Three Dragon metagame that existed prior. All three of them had means to touch bypass it, but realistically none of them could ever 1v1 this. Great slot.

:celebi: Another crazy good Fairy type submission, it technically has a worse matchup overall versus the Dragons since Dialga can hit it for SE damage, but otherwise it's insanely potent offensive glue for the metagame right now. It out speeds a vast majority of mons that are currently in the tier, it 1v1s basically everything that does out speed it and very little can reliably beat it without feeling explicitly broken. It feels like as of rn it could solidy it as the new S rank of the tier.

:Gyarados: The metagame's first set up sweeper, that can Tera, and also more or less can Imposter proof itself. Gyarados will be a ferocious wincon to face, and I can see the possibility of it feeling somewhat problematic for a bit until more consistent defensive mons + revenge killers get introduced.

:hitmontop: The first Fighting type so far, and it's one that doesn't even really lose to the myriad of Fairies introduced (depending on set). It is the worst at explicitly spinning out of the three spinners added, but it can do a good job at checking physical attackers and being an overall decent defensive pivot thanks to Intimidate, good bulk and good defensive typing.

Items are cool. Stellarium Z feels like a fun compromise for Z-Moves, and makes set up wallbreakers alot more interesting as to how they are checked, considering everything has a big universal unresisted, but not STAB boosted nuke. Garg Plush makes Rock types potentially great, and we have one rn that probably wants the extra bump. I don't have any idea what Utility Umbrella oughts to do.

With this slate we have 4 separate field effects to take advantage of - Extended Trick Room, Auto Gravity, Grassy Terrain and to a lesser extent Misty Terrain. I hope to see these get fleshed out as the metagame develops and see just what kind of metagame we can get when taking these team archtypes into account.

Today, I took a look at the builder to get a better feel for the meta. While trying to build different teams, I noticed Trick Room already has a solid foundation. So, there doesn't seem to be much of a need to flash it out, but that can always change with the introduction of new Pkm. From the looks of it, certain threats can be a little bit difficult for Trick Room to handle, notably G-Max Centiskorch since it's so tanky if Stealth Rock isn't present and assuming Dynamax doubles HP. Another potential obstacle for Trick Room is the Drampa fusion, which will likely need to run a Spe lowering nature to ensure different types of teams have a splashable answer against Trick Room.

Currently, I imagine a Trick Room core might be based around Dialga, Gravlord, Aurorus-Paleo, and the Claydol Paradox. The two former already have some decent defensive and offensive synergy. Under Trick Room, Gravlord is a force to be reckoned with due to its coverage options pressuring its would-be checks. As for Aurorus-Paleo, well, you could just spam Choice Specs Shadow Ball or set-up with Nasty Plot to dismantle teams since we lack good Ghost resists at the moment. It's quite possible to experiment with Dhelmise due to its great resistance profile and offensive capabilities. It also eases the Drampa fusion mu a bit but is more prone to wasting turns than Aurorus-Paleo by virtue of being a physical Pkm; your opponent can mitigate damage with Intimidate, Parting Shot, and Burn from moves like Lava Plume, Scald or Will-O-Wisp. When it comes to Claydol, it has a stabilizing role on the Trick Room archetype, tanking a variety of hits from the likes of G-Max Centiskorch, among others, and has the Trick Room + Teleport combo. In short, you aren't too reliant on Dialga as the Trick Room setter.

That being said, while it's important to flash out all the different archetypes, I think it wouldn't hurt to have more Aurorus-Paleo checks. This meta lacks good splashable Ghost resists. Sure, you can try answering Aurorus-Paleo offensively. Though, I noticed it has Recover, Calm Mind, and Nasty Plot. Which means it can be fairly resilient and potent to the point where even our Fairy Pkm will have some trouble dealing with it.

A few new announcements!

Smash Mods council has expanded the list of mods available for submission!
- We have re-evaluated the criterias for allowing a mod, as well as adding new mods that have been approved ever since Smash's release.
- We are now allowing past-gen mods all the way back to Generation 4, as they're still fairly easy to port into a Gen 9 format (compared to past-gen 1-3 formats)
- More open to what Solomods we accept for the mod; notably going over currently uncoded Solomods this time around
- This list also includes some mods we simply missed the first time around and are now included

The OP will be updated soon to include these!

Might add more in the near future if I feel like it now that we know we can sub Pkm from older generations.

Description:
1) Concept
- Garvaluna is the final evolution of Lycanroc-Midnight and references a spirit wolf from different myths.

2) Competitive
- Rattled gives Garvaluna the unique niche of punishing U-turn, Knock Off, and Ceaseless Edge, turning itself into a terrifying set-up attacker
- Good user of Garganacl Doll to better check Ghost Pkm - notably Aurorus-Paleo - and set-up without worrying about status conditions. Also synergizes with Rattled.
- Dark Aura emphasizes Garvaluna's lategame cleaning potential with Sucker Punch or Power Trip but can also make utility options more potent, like Foul Play, Knock Off, or Punishment
- Can function as a bulky, offensive hazard setter.

Description:
1) Competitive
- Gathering information is key to winning. Imagine your opponent has Zapdos, but you don't know if it's offensive or defensive. If it's defensive, it could be trained to tank physical or special hits better. Now, thanks to Reconfiguration, Lurking Shadow can roughly tell you how your opponent trained their Pkm. This makes it easier to later send out a specific Pkm to better tank a hit or to threaten a KO.
- Due to a combination of great Spe, good move options, and stat boost from Reconfiguration, Lurking Shadow will have no problem forcing a switch or setting up itself. A Choice Scarf set with Motion Cap can greatly pressure set-up threats like (Mega) Gyarados, for instance. Fake Out + Quick Attack, on the other hand, wears down and picks off weakened targets.

Krokorok's Entire Movepool + Kleptomania*
Description: So, by starting the battle out with no item and using Thief once to grab a Leftovers or Heavy-Duty Boots, Eternal Krokorok gains a drawback-free 200 BP move. And if you're feeling extra gimmicky, you can always use Fling and try to steal another item for a whopping 350 BP move, but yes, that is a lot of hoops to jump through, which is probably good. Outside of this gimmick, Eternal Krookodile is a solid physically defensive pivot, with Intimidate especially making it hard to take down, and access to Stealth Rock; but unfortunately, it doesn't have reliable recovery. Maybe a Curse set with Power Trip could also be an option.

Signature Move: Kleptomania || Dark | Physical | 10 PP | 50 BP | 100% Acc | Any Adjacent | Contact | This move's base power increases by 150 BP for everytime the user has successfully stolen an item via Covet, Thief, Magician, or Pickpocket.

Item: Baseball Bat
Origin: Vaporemons
Effect: The user's contact moves are boosted by 1.2× in power. If the user is hit by a bullet move, the move hits for 50% of it's power and the item is consumed.
Description: The item makes physical attackers much more versatile without needing LO or Choice items to be consistently powerful.

Desc: “Landorus Therian” esque mon that can both abuse gravity and keep it in check due to its ground bug typing dealing with gravlord, while also having one of the best gravity typings due to its combo being unresisted under gravity. Knock turner by heart, while also having solid versatile bulk and priority. A truly genius and innovative mon. I wonder who made it. It’s also a weevil, of which we need more representation in pet mods.

Item:

Name: Hyper Potion
Mod: Ebb and Flow
Effect: User Restores 120 hp upon being hit with a move of 100 power or greater. Single use.
Reasoning: we will add more deli support in a new and revolutionary item. This provides recovery and a new perspective on investment because this is a flat heal rather than a percentage heal, encouraging higher offensive / defensive values instead of a hp investment. Mons like gyarados can more easily lose their item for a pretty large payoff, being able to heal most if not all the damage back on a predict. While lower hp no recovery mons like uh. Hitmontop???? Really appreciate it. Why does everything have a crazy hp stat. This is Until you get knocked lol btw.

Movepool: Wigglytuff NatDex movepool - Hidden Power + Moonblast, Sweetheart
Desc: Two in one.
Base form is a really, really dangerous breaker. Nidoking breaks with 85 SpA, now you have a 105 SpA with Nasty Plot monster. Kinda slow but you're gotta be careful around this one.

Mega can also go the Nasty Plot route, or click Calm Mind to be bulky on both sides. It can also be a proper wall, walling Aurorus badly, and do some WishPort.

Physical sets seem much better (Pivoting, Ground coverage, stronger STAB: 130/120 vs Special's 120/110), but special sets don't have a massive drop in power, pack odd coverage, avoid Burn/Contact, & have priority.

Description: We need a real Ice-type that isn't Delibird. Brambleswine is a really interesting one at that, bringing a mix of offense and utility. In its home meta, Brambleswine has always been a pretty adaptable Pokémon, being able to run a bunch of unique spreads that work surprisingly well. In here, Brambleswine would become an offensive menace, being on the upper half of the speed tiers while having a powerful Ice + Ground + Grass coverage which threatens a lot of very notable Pokémon, like Zapdos, Gravlord, Aurorus and Praying Visitor. Requires some hazard control if it wants to run some of its wackier sets, like Loaded Dice.

Description: An interesting defensive piece for the metagame. Both its base form and its G-Max form seem fairly viable, notabgly providing a defensive switch-in to Praying Visitor. I was drawn to Garbodor in particular due to its relation to Toxic Spikes, which is interesting for a meta with an auto gravity setter. However even aside from that, it is a splashable blob with good bulk, hazard clearing, tons of ways of Poisoning opponents, Merciless to avoid being too passive and Knock Off, and has access to Tera up its sleeve.

G-Max form trades its item slot for more health and passively setting Toxic Spikes. All in all, Garbodor is a defensive Pokémon with some versatileoptions depending on what your team might prefer.
G-Max Malodor: 140 BP | Physical. User must have Gunk Shot. Badly poisons its target.

Tera Mechanic: If the Tera Type does not match the user's base type, moves of the Tera Type do 1.25x damage. If it does match either of the user's base type, moves of the Tera type do 1.75x damage. Takes 0.75x damage from Max moves. Tera Stellar boosts reset on switch-out. Stellar Tera Blast does not lower Attack and Special Attack when targeting a D-Max/G-Max Pokémon.

Dynamax Mechanic: Must hold a Wishing Stone. Pokemon with Dynamax double their HP stat, cannot be phazed out and take double damage from Behemoth Blade and Behemoth Bash. Dynamax Pokemon are no longer immune to Destiny Bond or weight-based moves (Low Kick/Grass Knot will always have 120 BP and Heat Crash/Heavy Slam always have 40BP). Turns user's moves into Max moves. Lasts for 3 turns.

Gigantamax Mechanic: Must hold a Wishing Stone. Pokemon with Gigantamax boost their HP by 1.5x. Gigantamax Pokemon are no longer immune to Destiny Bond and phazing moves. Gigantamax transformations are permanent.

Description: Base form functions as a set-up sweeper with strong STABs but a subpar initial Speed stat. Gives us a second Fighting type, with a pretty different role to Hitmontop, and also gives Zapdos another Pokémon to check. Can also use its Tera form's Rock Headto deal huge burst damage with recoil-less Brave Bird and Flare Blitz STABs after building up speed with Speed Boost. This also gives us a proper offensive Flying-type.

When holding a Tera Shard or Pokéball, gets access to its Tera form. Locked to its designated Tera type.
