Be gentle... it's my first revamp.

All constructive criticism accepted. Perhaps I should have gone for bolder colors, but Persian is Persian.

I'll probably do Scyther next.

I like Charizard. Gengar could use a bit of work, the sharp dividing line in the upper left is a bit off. Also, the left eye (Gengar's left) looks a bit clipped.

Other than that, he's good.

I think you should save them as PNGs rather than JPEGs to begin with. Image artifacts are like the devil to spriters. Additionally, you severely need to work on smoothing out the edges you added to the revamps.

To be perfectly honest, (good) revamping is a discipline that requires more developed skills than a beginner is likely to have.

Then where do you suggest that one begins? It appears that fusions are substantially more difficult than revamps.
 
@Mordock: Rockzurril is not too good. The head doesn't look round and the shading is off. And I will not make that avatar.

@the two revampers: Don't worry about those being too bad, but start with recolors.

@DarthVader317: What about decolors? I do those.
 
I couldn't go with a simple recolor because pdn makes it too easy. This might not be a better version of a shiny Scyther, but it certainly is more noticeable.

Its not a bad attempt at scratching, esp for a beginner.
Your lines eem OK, I think you should just work on the shading. The first one is the best.
However, make sure the shadows and highlights go with the shape of the ...subject... The light patch on the first one should be more rounded and so should the shell. Also remember to shade the outline by using light outline colour for regular parts, near black for shadows and darkest body shape for outlines that are in contact with the highlight.

I love your designs though.. keep it up!!

But the only part that actually requires some skill is the shading and pallete making. The outline is a simple tracing job in GIMP.

oohhh, but I have.
The new ones are the arcanine and deoxys ones. I was doing arcanine for a pixel over contest with the category of legendaries. I thought outside the box, but sadly, the contest was meant to be inside the box :P
So i left it at there for now. I will finish my deoxys before coming back to that..
 
Kinda Ironic that people are doing revamps now. I've been doing R/B revamps for Schwas new R/B/Y battle sim. They've been done for weeks but I never thought to post them here:

But I got what you mean, and don't you dare making a post explaining.

I would like to request a Mothim/Beedrill sprite.

To revamp you need to clear out the central figure and then..

but i will say that RB sprites generally have some crappy lineart and disproportionate sprites. In such cases, such as Poliwrath, you should probably rescratch the part. And I've seen your CAP7 sprite, you are more than capable of doing that.

But they should be good enough for a sim
