Stone Axe for sure isn't worse than Stealth Rock, but Tusk easily switches into Kleavor and Spins, while threatening Ghosts with Knock Off.

Does Aerial Ace not 2HKO the Tusk? I use it with success it also does good Chip on Zamazenta Hero as well.

For some reason Regieleki is even more busted than I expected.

1. Great Tusk: It just has more utility than lando
2. Lando: Lando will still be good but Great Tusk is honestly better
3. Clodsire and Ting Lu: Stall teams will inevitably rise again and Clodsire has utility outside of them
4. Iron Treads: Great Tusk but instead of a good typing you're weak to fighting and ground

Interesting you put tusk so high.

it beats lando 1 on 1 and is more useful in a vaccuum, but switches into less relevant threats.

we are playing a very different meta to a weeks ago

It seems likely that the SV OU tiering council will be voting on one Pokemon today as a potential “emergency ban”.

We still intend to vote on a number of Pokemon as part of the radar later this week, so even if the first Pokemon is not your only concern, there is a lot of tiering action coming in the immediate future. Stay tuned.
The problem with banning magearna is that in my opinion vested magearna is one of only two counters to leki alongside clodsire, with clodsire being very bad outside of leki. If you ban magearna then Chien-pau also just runs rampant - so I really hope leki gets banned and not magearna.

I think that great tusk is better because it's super versatile whereas lando lost a bunch of moves so it's more confined to a few sets. I wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong about lando tho, it's a genuinely good pokemon after all

clodsire is about to get 1000000x better

eleki going means the meta slows down a little. Clodsire checks sneasler, urshifu, zapdos, enamorous (barely) and magearna.

might change again after magearna goes.

it also doesn’t help that air balloon gholdengo is meta and will sit on it. Nor does it help that ID zamazenta can sit on water absorb variants.

big bear also comes in when clodsire recovers, and that’s when you’ll probably lose the game.

however it’s also the point at which ursaluna will start to get discussed as a potential banned Pokémon. The point at which balanced teams start to become viable and people get mad that it just deletes their walls.

But you play clodsire as a switch in, then double switch out or use rocks. Impish rocky helmet clodsire might be legit soon.

I bet Scizor rises to OU post-home because it can either force tera on enam (making it easier to deal with) or just threaten it outright. Enam is not going to be banned. It's a good pokemon don't get me wrong, but it's not banworthy

torn-t eating if eleki goes, offensive nasty plot/offensive pivot torn can finally work! (Chien pao going will help it too.)

Also zapdos stocks taking a nosedive when eleki goes.
Is it just me though, or does zapdos kinda suck as an OU pokemon now?

I bet zapdos is gonna be OU adjacent like it was in BW. It'll probably drop but still have a niche because it's not a bad pokemon and never really has been

Yeah it losing defog is probably a huge blow though.

At least with torn-t and lando-t they still have plenty of tools to be A rank pokemon when the meta settles down.

Zap just kinda feels underwhelming on most teams, even if it still has its niches in OU

ok so here's the thing: you genuinely cannot account for regieleki ice tera blast in the team builder. it's just too fast. like I'm running scarf enam on HO and the moment people start maxing speed on leki that stops working and I have to think of something else.

Hisui goodra can be built to make Tera ice a 6hko and still be able to ko back and blissey is still blissey.

Baxcaibler can also survive any hit and KO back.

Obviously this isn’t for me to say he isn’t broken.

Based on this convo alone I’m thinking most people are getting the most mileage out of him with specs rather than life orb or HDB like I had been running.

you are insane

I made six extremely dangerous sets in like five minutes. this thing has to go.
lets run through them. first, we have a mon that is essentially guarenteed to be the fastest mon on the field with no risk to itself and no speed investments who hits like a truck. next, we have a few variations on this, including endure red card, endure liechi berry, and focus sash swords dance. these all are horifying. then, we have poison touch u turn and fake out on one of the fastest mons in the game. not even mentioning dire claw. and theres a variation of this that can also set up hazards. you cant prepare for this. you cant fight this. it has to go.

I am guessing this "emergency ban" will likely be Sneaseler / Dire Claw. As busted as Eleki is, idk if its so busted to get banned under a day of being legal.

...Actually maybe it is now that I think about it more.

Regardless, Dire Claw + Sneaseler has more of a case warranting immediate action I'm guessing because of the RNG nature of the move and the statuses it can inflict.

Not saying I would agree with the decision, but it seems like the most likely outcome atm.

Regieleki outspeeds literally every good scarfer with timid. It needs to go because you cannot account for it in team building reliably. Scarf meowscarda outspeeds (with a speed boosting nature) but you don't have a guaranteed ohko.
252 SpA Meowscarada Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Regieleki: 268-316 (89 - 104.9%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Meowscarada Flower Trick vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Regieleki on a critical hit: 264-312 (87.7 - 103.6%) -- 25% chance to OHKO

As I've been saying, Sneasler becomes extremely answerable when you don't have to attempt to not instantly die to Regieleki.
