"Aggressive Stall" just feels weird as hell to me. At what point does it stop being Aggressive Stall and instead changes to Bulky Offense?
Firstly those are some really good/creative teams, thanks for sharing. How much of current stalls being passive is an issue with people's building vs offensive pressure in SV OU forcing these incredibly passive structures? I don't play stall that much but in both the post-Shed Tail meta and immediate HOME meta this seemed to be the case. Don't really know about SS but as you sorta mentioned SM stalls seemed a bit more offensive than current ones.
I would say that more than the pressure the issue is the tools stall is missing rn, the lack of a good hazards removal means that you need to run 6 boots so you don't have options like rocky helmet to punish u-turn cores, dozo which stops most of the physical threats lacks reliable recovery (not even leftovers because you have to run boots). Overall stall got nerfed hard this gen with both, dexit and the movepool cuts, while offense got stronger.Firstly those are some really good/creative teams, thanks for sharing. The idea behind this set is to aim for similar stats to my Kingambit's set; (Adamant, 124 HP / 252 Atk / 132 Speed, nets me a stat range of 372/369/276/156/206/169) With Bisharp's base speed being 70 instead of Gambit's 50, I no longer need to invest into Speed to reach my golden number of 169. (169 allows you to beat uninvested Skeledirge and lower speed tier Pokemon.) With the 132 Speed EVs freed up, I shifted them into SpDef (120 EVs hits 206 SpDef, same value as Kingambit) and HP (sadly 136 EVs on base 65 is nowhere near the same as 124 EVs on base 100.) However, with Eviolite, I get the same SpDef bulk as AV Gambit, but with better physical defense. (Gambit's 276 vs Eviolite Bisharp's 354.) This combination allows Bisharp to actually sponge a good few hits before crumpling over.
However, without Knock Off, or Kowtow Cleave, we're forced to use Night Slash over them. Sucker is still useful for priority, ala AV Gambit's style... But you still have Swords Dance, Taunt, Stealth Rock, and even Tera Blast for options.
Literally yes I have. The thing is, everything else will kill it.Has anyone considered wigglytuff as an anti pult Mon? It's a hard counter to pretty much every set it runs apart from banded with psychic fangs. It's also got wish passing and sponges special moves that don't have too much power behind them.
Wigglytuff @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Frisk
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dazzling Gleam
- Wish
- Protect
- Thunder Wave
A set like this works quite well on fatter teams, or even stall in niche cases as a kinda special alomomola. Frisk is got for scouting choices set, and did I mention it gets rocks? Like if you want wiggly in ou
Also might post RMT with this guy :)
Don’t get me going on Mr Rimehonestly, i miss posts like "glaceon is actually good, look at this scenario i dreamed up where it works" and "ban amoonguss because nothing beats it except the stuff that beats it". we need some more sincerely batshit takes on this forum
from what little i know of the guy, this suggestion is the smogon forum equivalent of walking into a political debate and saying "you know what would really spice things up? summoning cthulhu"I'd say they should unban AlephGalactus for the duration of the second tera suspect, but i don't actually think the forums could take his return.
What the hell did he dofrom what little i know of the guy, this suggestion is the smogon forum equivalent of walking into a political debate and saying "you know what would really spice things up? summoning cthulhu"

Ideally it would be mostly constructive discussion with the occasional one liner for fun
Realistically that’s not going to happen so I would like the thread to be general discussion about the the flavour of the week and then move on for a bit, coming back to it later if it’s still an issue. It may not be constructive discussion, but at least it’s different eg) spikes.
This thread rn feels like the same thing over and over. Just tera, something is broken because of tera, or this is why tera is fine. In the past week there has been 18 new pages on this thread. Only 2 of them didn’t include a complaint/discussion on tera. This is not including posts like “gambit is broken cause of tera”, just posts talking about tera itself. It feels like there is no variety cause it’s all people will talk about.
Mind you this is coming from my 1300 ass but it can’t just be a me thing.
Moltres is cool, just wanna point out that you 100% need to slot in Brave Bird on your moveset, probably over U-Turn, otherwise you straight-up lose to CM Enamorus, trust me, I actually tested this with someone. You don't even need the Moonblast SpA drop, if you CM on the switch, Moltres's Flamethrower just can't keep up with the CM stacking since Enamorus can just CM again on the turn Moltres attacks and +4 Moonblast 2HKOes. BB, however, always 2HKOes Enamorus and prevents it from setting up, and also does more damage to Valiant.I've personally been loving using Moltres in the last few days. Initially got somewhat introduced to it by Blunder running it on like all his teams, but it ended up being quite a useful mon.
Moltres @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 248 HP / 248 SpD / 12 Spe OR EVs: 248 HP / 248 Def / 12 Spe
Calm Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Flamethrower
- U-turn
- Roost
Speed EV's are to outspeed max speed Kingambit, while shoving the rest into physdef or spdef.
The amount of pokemon this deals with in the upper tiers is honestly a godsend, depending on wether it runs physdef or spdef, it can check all of the following, or at least burning them.:
Obviously it's still incredibly dependant on having it's boots, but with the limited distribution of the move this gen, Moltres finds itself in a very useful niche as a defensive pivot on BO and Balance teams.
(Without rock move)
Would love to hear other people's experiences with it!
This combo can work great with the subdd ice body set. For teammates, anything that appreciates fsight can work well, in addition to a good kingambit check.Has anyone tried Chilly Reception G-King with Bax? Feels like it would be pretty good, but I'm too stupid to understand what to fill the team slots with...

Most likely something that wants for force them into a Dark type. Maybe Tusk + FSight Glowking?Appreciates as in a dark type? Or something that threatens the opponents switch to a dark type?

Yeah, usually the other player will try to put a dark or steel type in turn future sight hits so you would be looking for having a mon that prevents that like Tusk.Ok ok,
Ok so you force the dark type to switch in and then you put in a counter (mon with a fighting move) to threaten the dark type staying in
Did I get that right? (Just checking if this makes sense im trying to learn)

Mega Breloom has it right. Fighting is the best pairing with it, as you immediately threaten the incoming Steel/Dark type meant to tank the incoming Future Sight hit. If they have a Dengo, then you'll need to work around that too.Yeah, usually the other player will try to put a dark or steel type in turn future sight hits so you would be looking for having a mon that prevents that like Tusk.
