How exactly is everyone planning on getting Hyper Voice Pixilate Sylveon? Pixilate is it's hidden ability, and as far as I know Hyper Voice is a tutor move, not an egg move ie it won't be passed down.

Take an Eevee from Gen 5 with its HA, teach it Hyper Voice via move tutor, and then send it over to Gen 6.

Your claimant did not have the info first hand or have any evidence to back it up, henceforth I am claiming it is bullshit until hard numbers are posted with pictures and calcs backing it up.
Here's your proof. http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/pokémon-battle-mechanics-research.3489239/page-29#post-4919474

Both Florges and Sylveon have bad physical bulk and can be 2hkoed by most physical attacks; therefore I don't think either of them are built for calm mind sets or fully offensive sets. I believe that florges and sylveon should be used solely for wish passing. Also, i just found out about pixilate (because i'm ignorant), and i added a bit more about the ability in my earlier post. Also, sylveon has like 10 more base hp than florges, so there's really no reason to have that as a reason for using it over florges. Shadow ball for coverage is nice, but as i mentioned before, Calm Mind sets get steamrolled by burst damage from powerful physical attackers, so i don;t think they're viable.

Sylveon can take a decent physical hit. 95 HP (which is almost 20 more base HP than Florges btw. Hardly a negligible difference, especially for wish-passing) helps make up for it's lack of defensive stats. Plus that Special Defense stat means you can safely invest like crazy into defense and it makes for a pretty bulky pokemon.

I've tested it, it doesn't take a physical hit well, but it CAN do it, and it's certainly a great special wall. (Plus you can always switch.) I'm not saying Florges isn't good, or won't be OU or whatever, I'm saying Sylveon has a niche that Florges does not. And a better movepool to go along with it.

What about this for a moveset for sylveon?
Timid
@ Leftovers
252 health
252 speed
4 defense.
Yawn,
Moonblast,
Calm mind,
HP Ground.

You can switch in on a predicted switch or start off with this set. Yawn the opponent forcing a switch and on that switch use calm mind and then either sweep or do another yawn/CM. Let me know your thoughts!

Where are y'all getting Sylveon with Wish??It doesn't exist to my knowledge in gen 6... Am I to assume you're all waiting for pokebank to come out and then trasnfer a Wish-Eevee to XY?

It's always been one of Eevee's egg moves. Heck, you can just use Smeargle to breed it onto him. Serebii doesn't have egg moves listed yet at all. No one really does.

This is for competitive talk, not for simple question / answers. There is a thread on the Casual X/Y forum under Orange Islands for questions like these.

mkay, I was a bit confused because recently I learned that shuckle doesn't learn Stealth rock anymore, I've tried breeding it with a crustle as well with no luck. Turns out Shuckle just can't learn it in gen6. I assumed maybe they'd done the same for eevee...

That's because Stealth Rock is a TM/Tutor, while Wish is an egg move. They're completely different circumstances.

How much has Baby-Doll Eyes been discussed on Sylveon? Along with Moonblast (30% chance to lower SAtk) and Wish, Sylveon has the potential to be a very annoying support Pokemon that can dish out decent damage, debuff the enemy, and heal your team. The fact that it has priority means that you get the jump on any physical attacker threatening you, with the exception of Scizor (priority Bullet Punch). However, assuming its a 252 HP/252 Atk Adamant Scizor, you can run Bold on Sylveon and have 48 (ensures you against 4-6 EV Scizor in speed) Speed EVs to ensure your BDE goes first. You survive the OHKO this way (you take 71.05 - 83.55%). Its not like you can do anything back, but this is literally one of the worst case scenarios for Sylveon to be in, and you survive.

Baby-Doll Eyes also goes past King's Shield on Aegislash. King's Shield only protects Aegislash from damage, iirc. With enough speed, it can even go faster than Shadow Sneak.

I'm currently running this set:
Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Cute Charm
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 6 Spd
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Moonblast
- Baby-Doll Eyes
- Hidden Power [Ground]

HP Ground so you're not walled by Poison/Steel types.

how is eveyrone managing to get a female eevee to get wish in this generation i know the ratio us very in favor of male eevee's and idk where one gets skitty or togepi in x y

When it's possible, we'll do it. A 12.5% chance isn't really that difficult.

if not those then how is wish getting to eevee ?
Well, one of the new changes is that both parents can now pass down moves. Also, it's pretty easy to get a Smeargle, have it Sketch Wish, then breed with an Eevee(lution).

While most people are going Special-based for Sylveon as a wall, I've had mild success using a physical CroCune clone for endgame sweeping.

Sylveon (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SDef / 8 Spd
Careful Nature
- Last Resort
- Curse
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Pros
-Great mixed bulk after a boost or two
-Last Resort's high BP helps make up for mediocre Attack

Cons
-Easily Phazed, Taunt bait if caught early
-Weak base attack/defense needs multiple boosts to be effective

This can take Special hits much better than a CM variant takes physical hits, which makes it better for an endgame sweeper. Not many Special 'mons can set up in this thing's face.

this is my sylveon atm too but i have toxic over hidden power. The priority -1 attack is great with bold nature and because of this you can replace protect. baby doll is great with sylveon's abysmally small weakness (poison and steel) and allows to weaken switch in pokemons. Also you can predict a scizor switch in and weaken with baby doll eye and switch to someone who can take on scizor and it will force him to switch, allowing you to gain momentum.

I find this poke boring now lol. Its poor abilities and stat spread (not horrible just...just not other eeveelutions) turn me off to it. I would say the best offensive moveset would be one with Pixelate and HyperVoice/CalmMind.

Most Eeveelutions have similar spreads (1 high offense, 1 high defense, meh speed... barring the obviously different onces like Jolteon) and horrendous (but effective) movepools. Its really not that different. ^^'

I agree but like they couldnt at least make its speed 95 lol. Leafon has the highest defense of any eevee and then 110att but at least they gave it decent speed. Movepools are always terrible i mean GF just gave Flareon Flareblitz. Better abilities though i think is a big turn off for me and sylveon (and florges as well in relation)

I like the idea of Baby-Doll Eyes. How about going specially defensive and letting Baby-Doll eyes cover you for physical bulk? If we had some damage calculations on the difference of going with either nature (Bold or Calm) and invested in physical or specially defensive, that would be insightful. This could give it a better role in being a mixed tank, barring no critical hits.

Sylveon's movepool is actually pretty good. And if they'd made it's speed 95 then it's base stat total would have been too high, and they'd have needed to reduce it's spatk, spdef or hp.

I don't really like baby doll eyes. It's a cool move, but I feel Sylveon's got better things to run than basically just forcing switches.

What i meant was switch its 95hp to 95speed to keep with the base overall

Seeing as how defensive Fairy types are, I honestly feel like its stats are fine. (Yes, yes I know Azumarill and Mawhile can function great offensively). Heck, even if it had Umbreon stats, it would do fine, and if not better, than Umbreon, due to a better defensive typing.

This id like. Or at least the revesre in def and sdef stats of umbreon
