Wow Wolves left it late. Amazing day all round sorry for Blackpool :(. Funny how Birmingham went from league cup euphoria too relegation devastation, so they'll be in Championship and in Europe.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS WIGAN SURVIVE

Weird birmingham just got relegated but will be playing in the europa league (glad we're not in it btw) next season

I mean.. when you look at the board.. the final standings are pretty honest. It's disappointing Blackpool couldn't tighten up in the last half of the season to at least stay up.. but as long as Birmingham gets relegated, some humor comes from this.

What's worse is that now Blackpool/West Ham as a team will probably not see the BPL for a while.. a handful of their players on the other hand..

nooo blackpool :(
can't wigan just go... they do this every flaming year.
birminhma keep thier players they will be up pretty quick
and best humour is how arsenal were in a 2 horse race for the title... then finish 4th

This would be hilarous, from the BBC:

Word on the Tweet is that Blackpool might just have bagged a place in next season's Europa League despite their relegation, courtesy of the Fair Play League. I cannot confirm that - I can honestly say nothing official seems to be around at the moment. I'll keep you posted if I can. I suppose Fulham's red card today could have come at just the wrong time for their European push...

fulham are doing it on purpose because they don't want the europa league.

they want to focus on the league because they wont win it anyway and the matches mid-week takes out a lot of the players and it doesn't bring a lot of money like the champions league.

but yeah, pretty hilarious, birmingham, blackpool and stoke in the europa league :$

Considering the glory Fulham got out of the Europa League a few seasons back, I doubt that is true.

none of them will get into group stages

Well Carlo Ancelotti has already been sacked, after a double last season and 2nd place this its a harsh decision but you don't get time at Chelsea. Maybe they should start the same policy at Arsenal after Wenger yet again basically said he won't be spending again this summer.

I could see Chelsea bringing Guus Hiddink back in or maybe porto manager André Villas-Boas who has done wonders this season.

where do you think he will go?

anyway i dont think wenger should be sacked just cause his players are chokers, what he really needs to do is start buying good defensive players and competent substitutes for his midfield. Diaby is terrible, and they really dont have much else. I would like to see nasri transferred next january if he doesnt perform during the first half of next season.

There is a chart somewhere that shows the full table had every shot that hit the bar instead had gone in. Arsenal is running away with the title by something like 8 points on that chart.

also well done to WBA staying up and playing fucking amazing the second half of the season.

Ancelotti is most likely going to Roma.

IMO, Arsene should sell Fabregas and get Scott Parker, Christopher Samba and Shay Given.

Scott Parker is like 30 and would add experience and steel to the midfield, Samba is also experienced (about 28 IIRC) and would help in a problematic area. Finally, Given would provide a cheap GK. he's already proven and his age (35) means that once again, he adds experience and doesn't ruin prospects like Scezny (spelling) who can succed him after that.

And what to do with the Fabregas money? get a world class wide attacking player, someone like Eden Hazard or Alexis Sanchez. Problem solved. Kinda

down goes birmingham and blackpool(grr cant united just let them go they won the league already anyway, they just have to win every match dont they)

ancelotti sacked, and is the thing about blackpool in the europa league for real?? im seeing it in some places but is their any confirmation?

and btw samba is 26, nice and young

speakign of defenders, poor ian evatt, but it was great how the blackpool fans were still singing theres only 1 ian evatt at the end of the match, we need more fans like that

I really like Fabs, i dont think he ever found his form this season.

Fabregas is only 24 years old, and I would be really really sorry to see him go. Between him, song, walcott, vermaelon and wilshire, and nasri our day is coming, and until then we just need to be patient. None of the players I just mentioned are older than 25, why get oldies like samba. In my opinion if you just want to get some leadership why not an aging center back like terry, or a defensive midfielder like Barton (though that might not be good leadership lol).

ay, we couldn't let blackpool win, united would have been fined :P and anyway, thats a record for home points, and a premier leage matching record, all wins bar 1 draw at home.

and this so called "weaker" manchester united side.
more points then 1999, thier highest winning margain for 10 years? with 9 points, and in the champions league final

and to be fair, blackpool scored an own goal to make it 3-2 :P
hopefully they will be back, perhaps it is for the best, mick marcarthy ian holloway and warnock in the premier league.. would be too much comedy

He's a great player, but he's 1) injury prone, 2) always wants to leave the club. Just sell him to Barca for 40-45 million. Trust me I'm a Liverpool fan, and it was the same case with Torres and look at how it turned out.

Samba isn't really an ''oldie'', he's hitting the peak of his career.
To be honest, you need experience and most importantly more English players. All PL winning sides have a solid base of experience and english players.

Parker would be a perfect choice IMO for Arsenal. I wouldn't mind having at Liverpool though (and he's been linked with us) but I rate Lucas Leiva (<3) higher than him :3
btw barton isn't a DM

Also, first Liverpool signing: Goalkeeper Friedel snubs Villa stay to play second fiddle to Reina at Liverpool

wouldn't really take it seriously though because it's the source is daily fail.

bit weird but welcome back Brad i guess. excellent back-up.

You won't get anything close to 40-50m for Fabregas you will be lucky with anything above 30m. Not that he isn't a great player and worth that value in comparison to say Torres going for 50m but Barca already know he wants to go there, they don't need him just yet as Xavi and Iniesta do what he does better, he is coming of a poor season(by his standards) and he is injury prone.

What Arsenal need is a bit of strength, players with a proven mentality in a top league and players that have a set of balls. These type of players don't come from the places Wenger seems so proud of poaching players from.

He is too stubborn for his own good and its gonna cost Arsenal yet again next season.

I missed the last day of the season because my TV was broken, but a nice man has just come and fixed it so I can watch the playoffs on monday :3

Chelsea sacking Ancelotti was an absolute dick move. Also Giggs has been named in the superinjunction - haha. Twat.

And let me get this straight - phalanx, you think Neil Warnock is _funny_?

and tbh, i dont care about anyones private life, it is PRIVATE, if people didn't care what famous people were doing and got on with thier own lives. i blame womans magazines.

he is funny because he is bound to get into trouble :P

Fulham take final Europa League place via the Fair Play League! Bit of a mixed blessing; on one side fans get to see Fulham in Europe again, and the revenue is alwayswelcome, but the pressure it puts on the smaller squads, and the importance of staying in the EPL usually outweighs a rainy, cold midweek trip to eastern europe.

Hopefully Mark Hughes signs a couple of players to bolster the squad and help them cope with the injuries and fatigue the extra games will bring!
