The Cricket Thread Part Deux

Yeah I guess so...although he was criticized for apparently "playing too slowly" and leaving the middle order with too much to do against India.

Yeah, SA rely too much on Albie Morkel. He didn't bat all that slow against India. He ended up going above run a ball. South Africa collectively failed as a team.

Yeah...and they weren't too impressive in yesterday's match against the W.Indies either. It's nice to see McLaren in the side...he was impressive in the IPL.

No, on the day of the match between KXP and CSK(2nd match at Daramsala), My friend sent me an SMS saying that he found all the results in orkut from a person. It seems like his only wrong prediction or "fix" was CSK winning against Deccan in the semi-final. So, he confirmed that Chennai Super Kings will win the final. After three or four days, there came a speculation that bookies already knew the result and that is why most of them went with CSK and plundered the betting organisations.

o_O but that was still an epic match between KXP and CSK. 16 from 6 balls, Irfan Pathan to defend it? I would've backed him if I hadn't known it was Dhoni at the other end:P

Yeah, it is tough to fix those kind of ends. That is the only match by which I give the benefit of doubt to IPL and say that that person predicted. I wasn't backing Pathan as I'm a Chennai native.

Lol...Pathan's usually pretty solid in the death overs...gets his deliveries right up at yorker length. He seemed to have lost it...I mean a half-volley at crap pace with 10 to get of 4 is just lol.

Well, don't talk about WI because their days in cricket are over. They couldn't chase down a meagre 136 set up by the South Africans.

Watch out for WI in the next wee while. If they ever have Roach, Taylor and Edwards together, that is one hell of a pace attack..

Have a nice day.

QFT.

Also they have a few ok looking batsmen that aren't quite experienced (Dionarine in particular) so when their veterans like Sarwan and Gayle get going again they should be looking good. Not to mention they have a decent spinner in Benn to play around with. They look like a solid unit but they just aren't performing atm.

He still can tear apart any bowling attack on his day...but yeah he hasn't done anything at all in the last, what 10 matches?

Michael Holding says "T20 no cricket, Pollard no cricketer". I agree with the second point of his but not his first. I agree with TanzAufDem Vulkan as well. Even Brett Lee is capable of that.

Harbhajan's hit like 1 good innings in his nine lives...Pollard's already shown us what he's capable of. I mean keeping up a strike rate of 200 in 14 or so matches is no lean feat.

And what would you say about his performance in T20 WC? Nation comes before club. But Pollard just wants more and more money.

I never said that wasn't true. I mean take a look at the Indians. Fought their heart out to try and win the trophy and flopped in the WC. That doesn't mean that they lack talent.

What's with all this wants more money crap? The guy has just only come into the international arena. Give him a year or two and then see where he is. Also the pitches used in the 2 T20 matches that just finished were horrible. I watched yesterday's match and the bounce was unpredictable. And its not like any other WI player other than Gayle performed in the WC.

Yeah WI actually have plenty of talent. Good openers, solid middle order, great finisher, and a pace attack to back the batsmen up. They juat haven't performed to their potential I guess.

On another note, it's sad to see Shane Bond retiring after such a short career. He was probably New Zealand's greatest fast bowler since Hadlee.
