The whole fiasco happening Miami is just really confusing. The other Dolphins players seemed genuinely blindsided by Martin's accusations saying they were friends and that they even acted like brothers. I find it extremely hard to believe that the entire team that consists of many races would come to the defense of an alleged racists. Something isn't adding up.

Welcome to what happens when the media gets hold of an incomplete story before all the details are available. I can almost guarantee you this was a case of joking around that ended up going a -little- too far and someone got upset, and that tension is being blown out of proportion. Both Martin and Incognito probably acted (and reacted) a little beyond what they typically would, but what human on this planet has never done that? I've made jokes with friends that were taken the wrong way and caused a little beef, and I've also overreacted to jokes my other friends made to me. It always got resolved in the end. I'm not even going to believe anything in these articles until the investigation has actually finished.

I won't say I've been keeping up with it, but the fact that this story basically came out because Martin drove himself to the hospital for emotional distress doesn't make it seem like it's just a joke that was blown out of proportion at all. I don't think anyone just decides to seek medical help over something like this unless it's serious.

This is something that should have been dealt with in-house, but wasn't. The only reason it's a story now is because the Dolphins, whether through ignorance or apathy, did nothing to stop what at least appear to be recurring and escalating workplace harassment incidents. Now the media's involved, and things obviously aren't very pretty when ESPN has several headlines a day about it.

As someone who has experienced such behavior... pretty much everywhere he's ever been for a significant period of time in life fuck my life sucks, I feel like Martin is probably just one of those unlucky meek-ish folks who everyone just loves to pick on for no particular reason. Herd mentality perhaps, one or two guys are doing it so let's all do it, he's non-confrontational so he'll let us get away with it and just trudge on, whatever. Martin decided he had enough but he's not the kind of person who is going to just walk up to somebody and punch them, he's going to do things by the book and go through legal channels where he is more insulated from the backlash he might've gotten from "the herd" had he done something rash in person.

But yeah I am pretty interested in following the development of this story.

more like that was a heck of a holding by EJ Henderson :D

Also welcome back

And why do you and YTP2 have the same avatar?

I don't even know actually. It looks like the forum just gives everyone a random Pokemon sprite for an avatar so I guess a lot of people will have the same ones since there's like 700 Pokemon and several thousand members here.

This football season has been weird as hell and the parity is insane. The only team that has actually looked dominant for any extended stretch is the Broncos (the Chiefs are barely scraping by bottom feeders which is fine but they're not winning a Super Bowl like that).

The Chiefs are this years Falcons. They'll probably go 13-3 but next year when they can't hold the same magical TO diff they'll fall back to 5-11 and everyone is going to be surprised. It happens every year and every year people get surprised.

it's a lot more than turnovers. the chiefs are in a much better situation than the falcons, and if they get a real qb/more aggressive they could seriously do some damage. that defense is no fluke.

whereas the falcons overachieved with a shitty defense that got turnovers, and an offense that went clutch when it needed to but failed otherwise

That may be partially true, but I don't think the loss of Brent Grimes and the injuries to Roddy White/Julio Jones/I guess Stephen Jackson can be understated in their importance.

Brent Grimes didn't play at all last year, except for a little bit in the first game.

The Falcons have basically been without their #1 and #2 offensive players in Julio and Roddy, and their #1 and #2 defensive players in Weatherspoon and Biermann for most of the year. Add to that the lack of clutch in the first few games (4 one-possession losses in the first 5 games, though the New England game probably shouldn't have counted) and they went from good to terrible pretty quickly. When an offense that's only good at QB, WR and TE loses both top receivers, and a defense that was never good loses their best pass rushers, bad things usually happen. They have enough to upset some of the good teams on the second half of their schedule, but the Falcons' season was lost once the injuries started piling up.

The Packers might be in a similar situation if Seneca Wallace is as bad as he was Monday night. They had an injury list longer than the Falcons, but at least they had Aaron fuckin Rodgers to keep the offense on track. If they lose three games in their next four behind Wallace, though, they might not even make it to January.

Well shit, first Rodgers goes out first drive last week, now Seneca Wallace goes out first drive today.

Edit: And Rams are up on the Colts 21-0. Which is awesome, I love the Rams, but damn.
And 28-0 now...Tavon Austin has 144 punt return yards and now a 57 yard catch. Starting to like this guy.

Tavon is playing out of his mind. If only Bradford was healthy...

Ha, and now he has a 81 yard TD catch, most of it on about a 5 yard catch and the rest of it sprinting down the field.

I'm just not sure what to think of the colts at this point, I know Luck is not pulling off his comeback bs that he's so overhyped for.
