What Titans 'hype'? The part where they have a great running back? The part where they have a stifling defense with proven great players? Gee, you got me, they are soooooo overrated. They are the #1 team at the moment, and there is not really any way to deny this short of 'okay the NFC East is the best, the Giants beat the Redskins who beat the Cowboys!!'

I am really sad that the Skins have to wait so long to prove that they're currently better than the Giants. They aren't playing at all like they are now, and discounting that game, the Giants have a terribly easy early schedule. If anything the Giants, Chargers, and maybe even the Broncos and Eagles are a lot more guilty of being overrated this year than the Titans.

Wish I would have noticed this earlier. Ahem, Pats for 8-8. Bye bye dynasty (dumbasses lol).

I love it when people use numbers, summaries of previously played games, statistics, or records to determine the best team this early in the year. The NFL is so damn unpredictable, for all we know those god for saken Rams could end up 12-4 lol, it's just how wacky it is (not saying it will happen because they're going 1-15 lol).

I'm rooting for the Dolphins, they are God's Angels above who destroyed the Pats hahaha.

It's hard to tell at this point who's the better team outside the few undefeated teams and the Cowboys. After that, it's pretty much in the air. Lions went 6-2 last year, and look what happened to them. Redskins went to the playoffs last year, but most people don't remember that. Rams could rally back and go 7-9 for the season, Bills can stumble out of the playoffs, and the Dolphins still can make the playoffs! Anything is possible at this point!

I'm agreeing with many people here. The Titans are for real! Drafting Chris Johnson and trading Pacman Jones were two of the best moves in the off-season for them. The main key is for Kerry Collins not to turnover the ball very much and be somewhat efficient. If that continues, Titans can easily go 13-3 at season's end.

Yeah, but everyone is still going to jump at the chance to call the Titans a fraud hype team the moment they have their first lost, even if they go undefeated for more weeks than anyone else (quite likely if they beat the Ravens)

I don't see how you can say trading "Adam" was a good move, the Titans got virtually nothing for him. They're looking pretty beastly right now, at any rate.

In terms of value, they didn't get a good deal. But they eliminated the HUGE distraction holding them back! Plus, the team chemistry greatly improved, and that is very important on a football team. See the bengals: Sure, the defense isn't great, but they have such a talented offense that they should be having similar results to the Broncos, but instead, they are 0-4, partly thanks to Chad Johnson's off season behavior, the off-season arrests, and Chris Henry's suspension (and he's returning next week!) Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the Cowboys lose one of their next two games with T.O. slowly returning to his old behavior.

Poor Steelers. As if it weren't bad enough they had the hardest schedule in the league, now they lose their starting RG for the season, hampering an already struggling O-line. Not only that, with Parker out for another game and Mendenhall out for the season, they've been forced to re-sign Najeh Davenport, who is ok at best. Only saving grace for this weekend is we're playing the Jagoffs, who appear to be struggling more than we are.

Doubtful. They lost their first two games to the two undefeated AFC teams, then won their last two tough matchups. I honestly picked them over Pittsburgh in my office pool.

The AFC is clearly the weaker conference this year. The Bills and Titans really are not that impressive. They both play solid defense, but they don't impress me on offense at all. Both have had easy schedules thus far. Especially the Bills. Predicting the top 2 AFC teams at this point seems like an impossible task. I really wouldn't be surprised to see any 2 of about 10 teams from the AFC in the AFC championship game.

Edit: In fact, after this week, I don't think the AFC will have any undefeated teams.

Well my Panthers shutout the Chiefs 34-0..I was basically expecting something like that. The AFC is extremely weak this year. Baltimore isn't really that good and they still almost beat the Titans like I predicted. The Chargers/Colts/Broncos aren't that good either..the Colts didn't even win this week, the Texans just gave it away. I guess Pittsburgh is the team to beat in the AFC this year...

the Cowboys make me nervous every time I watch them -___-

good all around game.

I watched the Miami and San Diego game.. I was surprised how well the Dolphins execute their plays. It was a really fun game to watch and I hope that they start winning some more games.

Both have had easy schedules thus far. Especially the Bills.

Before today, the Bills opponents were 4-10. The Titans opponents were 3-11. The Giants have been beating up on the weaklings too, but guess what... they all won, and that's what counts. It's still 60 minutes of football, and you still have to execute. The Bills almost lost to the Raiders, the Giants almost lost to the Bengals, it just goes to show that on any given Sunday... my point is, judging by a schedule difficulty doesn't mean shit to me.

how about that sage rosenfels

"oh man I totally have the starting job locked down we're up by 17 points oh wait now I should pull a Kurt Warner with protecting the football"

God I almost had a heart attack watching the damn steelers game. Between bogus interference and roughing the passer calls (lol) and the steelers players getting unsportsmanlike conduct calls, they tried DAMN hard to hand the game to the Jags whom they dominated in every facet of the game. It should have been 26-7 not 26-21.

Fuck Rosenfels :( I really wanted to see Texans finally win too. Either way Slaton is still excellent though.

Also watching the Cardinals play today gives me some small hope of seeing Dallas lose when they play here next week, assuming Warner doesn't turnover the ball more than Romo does.

Also although it was a close game, Titans did manage to beat a team that is probably better than any team the Giants have faced so far, or the Bills had faced before their loss today (which might have gone another way of Edwards didn't get injured :( ). Then again somehow the Bengals came kinda close to taking on Dallas and NYG, but the Titans mangled them.

I missed the Steelers game but I'm extremely pleased that we raped the Jags run game. Big Ben came through big after he gave the Jags 7. Mewelde Moore looked nice. We don't even need Mendenhall. :\ Kendall Simmons is a big loss though...he's been on the line for like 6 years now. And our left guard has like no experience prior to this year. And our center is new to the line. Oh well. They pulled it out today against a still dangerous team.

or the Bills had faced before their loss today (which might have gone another way of Edwards didn't get injured :( ).

Honestly, as a diehard Bills fan, I had a pretty good feeling we were going to lose. After what happened to Warner last week against the Jets and the points he put up in the second half, I knew he'd come out storming against us. Yes, we lost Edwards and that definitely hurt because Losman is still a poor QB, but make no mistake: our defense, which was previously our strong suit, lost us this game. It could not stop the Cards offense, they marched down the field on us drive after drive. We couldn't stop them on 3rd and 9, 3rd and 13... you can't expect to win if you're going belly-up like that.

My comedy Super Bowl picks from last month are Arizona and Buffalo, the two teams with the longest playoff droughts. I guarantee both make the playoffs at least, they both look strong this year.

Chad Ocho Cinco is dating one of Adam "Not-Pacman" Jones cousins....wheeeee!

The Cardinals are going to be a legitimate threat any week as long as they have Fitzgerald and Boldin (or even right now without Boldin, Warner was hot enough, I guess), and James is still a passable running threat. That being said, I think playoffs is too optimistic because, despite their sometimes creative setups, the Cardinals defense is as porous as limestone.

Cowboys-Redskins NFC Championship (Giants lose first round just to spite zerowing...)

Titans should have lost that game; Terrell Suggs definitely did not rough the quarterback, and it was a false start play to begin with (not that any of you who read columns have missed this).

Hey DM, check it out: 4. Kurt Warner, father of seven, said he spent the week working on protecting the ball by holding onto a football with two hands at home while his kids chased him around "trying to simulate the Buffalo Bills."

(I loled at least)
