If you want to look at it that way, then what is Farve's YPA? I'm sure he doesn't get above that number every time, or under it every time. It's an average. Meaning all things concerned, AP got 9.3 YPC.

No matter what your player not team comment was meant for, shutting down a team does not equal shutting down x player.

The fact of the matter is Brady is playing better football right now, I know their teams overall skill level isn't really close, but that's not how you can really judge the MVP.
Sure, the 82 yard pass is more exciting, but Brady is probably going to break the TD record for a reason, and they were probably up by a large margine for a reason. Farve is great this year, and I believe the packers can go places, you don't need to convince me. However, Brady and the PATS are playing better. Most of us aren't PATS fans, you just did a great job of stirring everybody up.

edit:

Kind of unrelated, but as other people have said: Brady's first year with a good receiving duo/trio, and he's likely to break the Season TD record held by the guy who is 'possibly the best quarterback ever.' Brady has had great season after season with borderline- awful receivers, and now they're better in ever when you give him the personnel. He [his team] has also one the biggest game of the entire season, that's MVP. =/

edit2: [Because I don't want to waste another post.]
I told you exactly how you didn't shutdown AP, he average 9.3 yards on 12 attempts despite you wanting to take his longest run away from him. And I also covered that beating the Vikings is NOT shutting down AP. You're right, no one is going to win it in Minnesota, I was covering other dumb things you have posted in this topic. Nobody will be bringing home an MVP for a while in GreenBay, either. vvvv

Your jumping all over here, im explaining how we owned the Vikings and shutdown AP and now your back to MVP which is totaly unrelated to minnesota because no one will win it in minnesota...

When you shut down a player, you are shutting them down statistically. Whether you shut down the other team or not doesn't mean shit. In theory, the Colts "shut down" Welker who only got like 50 yards despite getting a TD. You can not be consistent with your argument here.

The fact is AP got 100+ yards, which is not getting 'shut down.' Now the Vikings limiting LT to like 40 yards rushing, now that is a 'shut down.'

Wasn't there a game a few weeks ago where Farve absolutely blew nuts but the Defense bailed them out? Then Farve got 'shut down' yet Packers won, what does that tell you? Just because you 'stop' one part, doesn't mean you stop all parts to it. For example, Pats pretty much 'shut down' Colts as well as anyone could but they couldn't do shit to Addai.

I'm loling over here because everyone is spelling Brett Favre's name wrong. Get your names right when you're constructing an argument; is that too much to ask for?

And GB Packers Ftw, you're done posting in this thread. Get out. Your 'Our Packers shut down Adrian "A.D." Peterson' argument is flawed and you know it. The NFL average YPC for this season is about 4.1, at the moment. That means your average runner with 12 carries will get 49 yards. How much did AP get? 112. Saying that Green Bay shut down AP is like me saying that the Dolphins handled Tom Brady pretty well--6 touchdowns not withstanding. It just doesn't hold water.

So get out and don't post here ever again. KTHXBAI

(Okay, that's a little harsh, but my point still stands. Don't post here without at least SOME logic in your posts.)

yeah.
I saw a guy at McDonalds have a seizure and me and my friend was hoping he died.
Sadly he lived.
I am an asshole. =)

Favre > Brady in terms of being a great QB
Brady's team > Favre's

Brett is the greatest QB of all time.
no doubt about it.
Not mehhh =P
What idiots.

and...We'll see what AP does to Green Bay this weekend.
He'll be running in the cold.
Not saying Minnesota is warm..but San Diego is.

You do realize that the game was played in Minnesota last week right? In any case, the Vikings have a dome, and the cold shouldn't have THAT big of an effect.

Also I don't know what's more comical, GB Packers ftw's belief that Favre is some sort of demigod and all of the other players on the Packers feed off his powers to form them into some sort of invincible being, or his uncanny ability to make a fool of himself by contradicting himself and otherwise looking like a complete idiot.

Well tell ya what, we'll see how AP does in our house this weekend, and i'll talk then ok? (good or bad)

Anyways does anywon here play madden online?

Ok I'm not going to get into one of these arguments but I have a question about something from a few pages ago

As for the Browns, everyone and their mother knew Charlie Frye wasn't the right answer

I've never watched a Browns game so I have to ask, was he really that bad? I've heard someone else say that before but I know that person didn't like Frye anyway so I thought it could have just been his opinion.

If you saw him play last season, he made terrible decisions in the pocket. He was very skittish, threw bad interceptions and overall gave his team no chance to win football games.

Anderson is his complete antithesis.

To be fair, Anderson wasn't exactly lighting it up until very recently, and he still throws picks. Still, Anderson wins and as long as he does that, he can throw as many picks as he wants.

Ryan Grant says hello to the top rushing def in the NFC???? AP just got shutdown AD by THEE Green Bay Packers. 11 attemps 45 yards. And yes I know he was injured in the 3rd quater (late) but it was like 27-0 then and they wouldnt have run it much more anyways. More so im happy we got the running game going so we can compete when the weather is trash. But heres the real question, which is more comical? AP getting shutdown AD or Ryan Grant running all over that excellent run def?

That game was sickening. And it showed me 100% that Gibbs is not the answer.

I've always defended him but fuck Joe Gibbs, he's done and needs to be fired.

The playcalling has been terrible, and he has been completely mishandling Campbell (who, as a 1 1/2 year starter is making plays like a veteran and would be 8-1 if not for the fact that the offense as a whole is utter trash)

Joe Gibbs simply cannot coach anymore - he lacks the mentality to be a successful NFL coach at this point (you can even see it in the interviews - never gets angry, never holds players accountable, etc).

I've always hated that type of coach, but I do think this team needs a taskmaster - a Belichick/Coughlin/Parcells type fascist dictator coach who will cut the idiotic penalties and mental errors.

If you can get the ball, 1st and goal inside the five yard line, when the game is on the line, and fail, not only once, but twice, you really need to reexamine what you are doing.

I will give Gibbs credit for rebuilding the organization; he has established some stability and has developed solid young players for the future (McIntosh, Landry, Taylor, Campbell, Rogers, Montgomery, Cooley, for instance), but as a head coach, he is holding us back.

AP didn't get shut down. When someone gets hurt you can never say they got shut down. Not to mention, last week, out of his 296, he only got 43 yards first half and 253 second half, along with his TDs. The Packers massacred Vikings, yes, but any decision about AP is inconclusive.

Thats bull. We shut him down 100%. He couldn't do anything. There were like 2 minutes left in the 3rd quater and the game was out of reach, they wouldn't sit and run wih AP (who got shutdown AD) for much if anything, maybe another 30 yards? I could see them try a screen but thats not running it. Yeah we shut him down.

He still averaged over four yards per carry, so he had an OK first half, and seeing as we have no idea what he would have done in the second half, saying he was shutdown is kinda unfair.
He didn't have his best first half sure, but it was far from bad. And yeah, Vikings got destroyed =/.

Again, you can't shut down someone if they got hurt. =/ That's inconclusive to claim that. Packers raped and murder Vikings in all aspect, but that doesn't man they shut down AD. It's like going back to Colts game. Addai went ape-shit on Pats, but Patriots still beat Colts, and Harrison was injured, so does that mean Harrison was shut down? Does that mean I can skip around the Dome yelling out Harrison got shut down?

Can you please remove your head from your ass before posting this thread? It seems like I can't read one post from you in here that doesn't make me cringe.

11 rushes, 45 yards = 4.1 yards per rush.
Emmitt Smith, NFL's leading rusher of all time: 4.2 yards per rush.

YOU DID NOT SHUT DOWN ADRIAN PETERSON. SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Onto other, more intelligent conversation... why does Losman have to be the most inconsistent prick to ever step under center for the Bills? His flashes of brilliance are just getting annoying, because he spreads them apart around terrible plays.

But hey, a W is a W. We're actually in the wild card race, thanks to the Steelers barely beating the Browns.

lol I KNEW that that guy would come in and be like LOL THE PACKERS OWNED ADRIAN PETERSON HEh. In any case, I couldn't watch that game after a while because it was so sickening. The Vikings are awful I don't know how they won 3 games ._.

lol yeah poor Losman. He was actually projected to have quite a nice day, especially with the defense he was facing. Losman was also suppose to be like in sync with Lee Evans. =[

Also poor Browns, but at least they now know they can hang with Pittsburg, although that first half did look kind of sloppy.

Alright lets consider this: Lets say my main man, Brett Favre, runs for a 6 yard gain, which is his only run of the game. (no this didn't happen) OMFG 6 YARDS AN ATTEMPT THATS INSANE??? Dude Brett Favre really lit it up in this one folks. Next game we will prolly put Favre at HB cause his avg is so damn high...When you consider that 4 of AP (who got shutdown AD) rushes were for nothing or a loss, i'd say we shut him down AD.

On a more friendly note Hopefully your Bills will light up the pats*.

@Aero Harrison was injured so the pats* shut him down? Thats not even close to what I'm saying. Thats like saying dude we totaly shutdown Terry Bradshaw. Just as a reminder Harrison didnt even play that game, AP had a good 43 minutes to break through and destroy us and it just never happened.

(sigh)

Limiting A.D. to 4.1 YPC is NOT shutting him down. Since the NFL average is 4.1, that just proves that your defense against the run doesn't suck.

I would say something about your logic, but Reggie White would never forgive me if I did. XD

Eh, I'm not complaining. Losman at his worse is eerily like Edwards on an average day, except Losman can get his shit together when we really need it. The true mystery is why Lynch only got the ball nineteen times. It was clear from the first drive that Loseman and not Losman showed up....clear to everyone except Fairchild. But, really, that's nothing new. Our run-blocking schemes are pretty bad too. Too bad Dickie would rather die than fire anyone on his staff....

If only the Bills could have won that one agaisnt the cowboys..that would have owned so bad and i would totaly have bought a bills hat or something.

Rex Grossman Replaced Brian Griease as da bears qb and won the game. even though da bears suck and no one really cares about them, if you are Lovie do you start Rex next week?

What about my main man, Vince Young, who ran for over 6 ypc last season
(wait shut up he does NOT suck this season okay he just...uh...Madden Curse yes)

Brett_Favre_Asskisser, 11 for 45 is not being shut down. The Vikings offense is pretty generally inept beyond him, and Adrian Peterson (Satan ahhhhh go Selvin Young hook em) cannot make all the plays by himself.

P.S. I really am excited that UT seems to have finally produced another actually useful running back in Selvin Young! Ricky Williams and Cedric Benson both failed me...Ricky Williams is still my second all time favorite player though :(

Okay, so by your logic, LT is a way better quaterback than Favre, with a higher completition rate and rating.

On a more friendly note Hopefully your Bills will light up the pats*.

I don't comprehend...are you tryin to type out Pats8, but for some reason your 8 key only works when you press shift?

Marvin Harrison had like a whole 3 week break to try to get better, but he didn't even play, what an idiot, Pats totally destroyed his morale and shut his ass down. There's no doubt about that, Marvin Harrison fucking sucks. Forget the past decade and his 110+ TDs. He just fucking sucks, totally shut down.
