Well, my point was more the size - an NBA team ideally runs an eight man rotation, with five starters, whereas an NFL team has twenty-two starters, and up to a fifty-three man rotation, so of course NBA will be more individualistic, but it also just inherently makes it easier to identify the greatest stars with less volume of players.

Way to repeat me, General Tso!

Good win for the Steelers on Thursday! The Rams are like at least 7-6 good with all their players (offensive line) healthy, but their offensive success is still a little scary...our defense has been balls the past three weeks. Aaron Smith can't make THAT much of a difference.

Can't say I feel all that hopeful for the playoffs...especially now that Willie Parker is gone. Now THAT is BALLS.

Romo is arguably having the better season, but Favre is basically a living icon so it's clear why his vote total is through the roof.

I didn't even vote for Manning. :P Brady is a clear lock, but Manning has only been "pretty good" and certainly has competition from Anderson/Garrard/Roflsberger. Manning has done well enough that his name recognition will easily put him in anyway, but objectively speaking I'm not sure if he should be one of those four I mentioned. And no DM, Champ really hasn't been all that great this year. Or maybe he has, I don't follow the Broncos that much, but that Packers game sure sticks out like a sore thumb to me.

It's easy to vote for NBA all-stars because basketball is a far more individual game than football. That's not to say basketball isn't a team sport, but you can't tell me that Kobe Bryant or LeBron James don't single-handedly win games for their teams on occasion. It's especially hard for linemen and defensive players in football, where very few official stats are kept as compared to offensive skill positions. The only thing most people can base their opinion off, unless they've seen a majority of their games that year, is reputation.

I could see Donald Lee being the alternate, but him and Cooley are having a largely similar year so I wouldn't exactly say he was snubbed either. It's pretty much inarguable Witten is the clear #1.

It's in the numbers, that usualy go agaisnt the Packers. Favre is just that much better than Romo. Simple as that. You can't use the fact he's the best QB to have ever played this game as leverage. Tony is having a great season, sure, wonderful, great, orgasmic. But on this one, Favre just wins. Sure maybe its close, but come on. Theres really no other way to determine who's better. You can't account for injury, weather, or other factors that really do mean alot. Overall Favre is basicly carrying his team, while tony is doing some of the same, btu not nearly as much as Favre.

Yeah, I didn't vote for manning either basicly because i didn't vote for the AFC. If i would have i would have gone Garrard\Anderson.

Idk maybe i overlooked chris cooley i didn't realize he had that many touchdowns. But still, Lee should have been up there somewhere he still has 6 touchdowns, and way less receptions.

@Steeler- yeah but it was good to see good ole x-Packer Davenport run it all over them.

How is Brett Favre carrying the team? Last I knew they had a shitload of great players...were you not arguing for them to have MORE all-stars than the already huge eight they have? A QB can carry his team to a 9-7 record, but to a 12-2 record? I doubt it! I am pretty sure GB's defense has also done an excellent job this year! Romo has 9 more TDs and only 4 more INT (35/17 compared to 26/13, also a slightly better ratio). Both are great QBs, so I do not see why it is a problem, but the fact both are putting up similar great numbers and one gets far more votes makes it pretty obvious Brett Favre is only getting a huge amount of votes because of reputation.

K for the most part your right, except that he really did carry this team for most of the season, until we got Ryan Grant going, and that's when we started putting up 30 points a game. I mean you can argue he has more reputation, and i could argue tony has more "starpower", but seriosuly it's impossble to try to decipher why Favre blew out the comp'etish.

As of Week 15 this year:

Romo: 328/504, 4125 Yds, 36 TD, 18 INT, 99.3 rating
----- 65.1 comp%, 8.2 YPA, 2 TD:INT ratio, 7.1 TD%, 3.6 INT%
Favre: 330/492, 3905 Yds, 26 TD, 13 INT, 97.7 rating
----- 67.1 comp%, 7.9 YPA, 2 TD:INT ratio, 5.3 TD%, 2.6 INT%

Their stats are very nearly the same. Romo has a big TD lead, but Favre has fewer INTs and they have the exact same ratio. Favre has a slightly better comp%, probably because GB loves their slants, but Romo still has the better YPA. Romo has a slighty better passer rating.

I'd give Romo a very slight nod for better YPA (as compared to comp%) but they're basically neck-and-neck in stats. The huge vote differential was due to Favre being America's (Football) Sweetheart.

hmm that was an anticlimatic 15-0...i was hoping brady would just break the record then and there

anyhoo texans lost ;_;

but favre got shut down like a bitch ass

sadly bills couldn't fuck with the giants season, it'd be great to see eli out of the playoffs

10th 3rd 3rd 1st fantasy results for 4 leagues!

well when your talking about 40-50 MPH winds I really didn't expect much of Favre. As soon as i saw the field im like o shit we are gonna lose. It's been windy as hell here in GB all week anyways. Idfc tbh we have a bye and it doesnt even mean the championship will be in dallas, and im fine with a 12-4 or 13-3 season, it's much better than we were supposed to be able to pull off this year. The difference in the game today was basicly some punting bs. I mean 2 blocks and a 9 yard punt? come on we gotta to better than that. I understand the wind but 3 of them were almost blocked...wtfh we need better blocking then that. At least T.O. got injured lol...naw hopefully he gets back on his feet soon.

I finished terribly in all of my fantasy leagues and was hoping that the Vikings could keep winning so I could have something to be happy about this football season but jesus christ there was some awful play calling and execution last night. I am so pissed because it's very likely that the Cowboys will sit their starters and thus hand the Redskins the playoff spot even though the Vikings (should) roll the Broncos :[

Also I watched the Packers game that was pretty lol

The point was not that they won or lost, and we all know that they did much better than they were 'supposed to' this year, so you bringing that up is just further proof you are trying to back away from your incessant shit talking, which is what the point IS. We do not give a shit if you say ':) I am so happy the Packers are having such a great season, I really hope things keep going so well.' When you go 'Packers are the best fucking team' and then talk about how you are owning other people, yet continually excuse away your own team's failures, as you did again here, then it becomes rather annoying. A 35-7 loss does not happen merely because of some punting problems. The worst part is that you, even if you excuse it away as a joke, exulted in another playing being injured! Jesus Christ.

Doubtful...LT vs Denver Defense =x

And rather playing Titans/Browns+Colts is a lot better than Jaguars+Patriots...you'd think they'll go all out.

Also up 17 with Gates vs LT...let's hope Chargers fall behind so they'll throw more!!

Merry Christmas... thank you for the gift Green Bay!

seriously I almost missed work because I was having such a good time seeing GB lose.

ahahaha how do you hate Green Bay so much?
You sound like me towards the Colts.
This lady came in...Funniest shit ever...Perfect example of a Colts fan.

I'm helping a customer about Patriots hats and whatever and she said something I don't remember
so I got "I just can't wait for Brady to get the TD title he desrves unlike Manning"
or something like that.
and she said "I hope Brady breaks his arm"
so I reply with "I hope Manning breaks his neck"
her "Break Brady's neck?"
me "No. I want Manning to break HIS neck'
her "We're not going to talk about this because we'll get into a fist fight"

well 1, I'd backhand a bitch.
2. Who actually FIGHTS over football you don't play?
3. I'm probably so angry cause I hate Christmas shoppers and I was in a bad mood because of the Packers game.

Chargers are raping.
Rivers and LT are both looking good.
and Gates had an amazing catch.

I fucking HATE DARREN SPROLES I lose smogon fantasy football by exactly 5 points and 1 more LT TD would have won it for me ahhhh why did the Broncos have to suck ass ahhhhhhh

Darn... I wanted the Pats to vs Chargers/Jags the first round. Either team could really give them a run for their money. Oh well, they'll still lose in the AFC Championship :D

But not before the steamroll to 16-0.

lol Chargers aren't going to give Pats for a run for their money...they didn't last year when they played at home, they didn't do shit at all during like Week 2 this year, and they sure as hell aren't going to do shit IN Foxbo. Not to mention, Phillip Rivers is probably the most inconsistent qb out of all the divison champ teams.

Also Steelers aren't doing shit in playoffs now, at least not without Willie Parker, unless Davenport ends up like LJ when Priest went down
