So now 1 Touchdown is rape? Brady had 1 extra Touchdown, maybe if he had about 10 more I would call rape. Since when has 1 Touchdown been a rape?

I also think you fail to realize Jerry Rice got 22 in 12 games, it took Moss the full 16 to get 23, we can safely say that if there was no strike Rice's record would be untouchable. And once again, 1 TD is rape?

My reasoning for the Pats losing to the Colts or Jags? Well the blueprint has been formed by the Eagles, Ravens, and even the Giants. Beat up the offensive line and play physical, you get to Brady or collapse the Center and Guards and you will have a chance. Now the Eagles, Ravens, and Giants are not in the league of the Colts and Jags. Addai and Taylor/Jones-Drew will run all over the defense and keep the ball out of the hands of the Pats offense. It will happen and I can confidently put money on either team to beat the Pats.

Man...You're so pro at football.
1 td is rape when you break a record.
No matter how you look at it...They are the record holders.
And had a very epic pass to break it with too.
Is it Randy Moss's fault Jerry Rice only played 12 games?
No. He should have manned up and played more.
And you give those 2 teams offence credit...Do you realize the Pats have the number one offence?
One team score..the Pats score...Pats get INT and score again.
Garrard has less INTs, but we all know Brady is 10x the QB he is.
I mean..Manning throws as many in one game as Brady does in one season..pretty much.
Notice how Manning and Brady both had 6 something in a game?
Only Brady's helped his team.
OMG Manning is trash.
Patriots>Green Bay>Rest of the NFL

To be the greatest team ever, the Patriots need to win the Super Bowl, however, that does not preclude them not being better than other teams that have won the Super Bowl before - and they ARE better than the 17-0 Dolphins team, which played a very weak schedule. The Patriots have already beat four playoff teams, so I think they obviously have a great chance to win it all, but they have also played too laxly in a few games, so they could obviously blow it.

Jaguars versus Cowboys is my Super Bowl pick!

Is it a rule that some user must replace another bad user in a large thread on the internet? Fight Two Demons lends credence to this rule by replacing GB Packers FTW arrogant Packers fanboyism with arrogant Patriots fanboyism!

HOW DO PEOPLE THINK THE JAGUARS ARE GOOD?!
Big deal, they beat Oakland and Carolina...Ooo..Pittsburgh..you know..the team that lost to the Jets.
The Colts already showed they're better than the Jags.
But I'd love to see the Jags win...over the Colts* Edit. haha

The Raiders were this year's unluckiest team, so they were a lot better than reflected by their record.

I know this topic is everything NFL, but since there is no place for yet more sports topics, I would like to say that today's overlooked bowl action was VERY exciting.

Wake Forest 24 (9-4)
Connecticut 10 (9-4)

Mississippi State 10 (8-5)
University of Central Florida 3 (10-4)
(running record not set! he only manged 119 yards)

Penn State 24 (9-4)
Texas A&M 17 (7-6)

Is it Randy Moss's fault Jerry Rice only played 12 games?
No. He should have manned up and played more.

What the fuck does manning up have to do with anything? Are you an idiot? (rhetorical question) And I have no idea what the fuck you are trying to say, at least GB Packers FTW was readable, you just put random thoughts onto your keyboard and assume we can understand them. Do us all a favor and keep your shitty typing style and terrible Patriots fanboyism out of the thread.

The Patriots are not invincible. The Ravens (practically) beat them. The Ravens. Losers almost 10 straight. And you are going to say that ANY team in the playoffs, regardless of who it is, stands no chance at defeating these Pats when the Ravens led/tied throughout the vast entirety of that game? Please. Willis McGahee and that offensive line (without the great Jonathan Ogden) ripped your front seven up.

I'd like to see Junior Seau, Tedy Bruschi, and that front seven stop Fred Taylor/Maurice Jones-Drew, Joseph Addai (didn't really stop him the first time...), and LT the way he's been playing the past month.

yes he's an idiot if he couldn't tell that this

J. Rice got destroyed.

Rice got raped. He doesn't hold the record anymore does he?

Is it Randy Moss's fault Jerry Rice only played 12 games?
No. He should have manned up and played more.

was just joking around!!! sounds like damage control and sounds like you didn't know that was a strike shortened year when Rice played, not injury or something else as it SEEMS you thought it was

Willie Parker...Led the league in rushing...Their team had like 170 or so yards...124 by Parker.
And the Patriots won 34-13.
It takes more than rushing to beat the Patriots.
And if you haven't noticed in all my posts I say Chargers vs Packers Super Bowl.
and I think we all can agree Baltimore played better that game than they have all season.
and the Pats have beaten 7 play off teams already if you count the Browns and Redskins.
You guys are fucking crazy if you don't think the Patriots are better than every other team in the league.

We aren't saying that. At least I'm not. I'm saying 16-0 doesn't make these guys invincible and Super Bowl champs in December.

Also, sorry I didn't' watch football in 1987 when he broke the record.
I was born in 88.

I think you're also just sad, Steeler, because your team is done for the season.

thanks mop for ruining my argument :(

demons the steelers have nothing to do with my argument

i'm pretty sure the steelers aren't eliminated from the playoffs

Rape, destroy wut. Manning sat far more than Brady did (and less attempts to boot), Rice did his in 12 games. Neither Brady nor Moss broke their respective records in particularly "impressive" fashion, but nonetheless they own them now.

Grats to the Patriots. ;/ If they don't win the Super Bowl you realize they're going to be a laughingstock.

Regarding the whole "best ever" thing: The '72 Dolphins themselves aren't even close to being the best team ever. Being undefeated is a grand accomplishment in itself, but put into the context (schedule played, dominant players, etc.) they're clearly nobody an 80's Niners or a 90's Cowboys fear. Even if the Patriots go on to win the Super Bowl, I'm not quite ready to crown them "best ever" just yet. The Pats looked incredibly dominant at first, but since the second half of the season they've looked quite beatable and were lucky to get out of a couple with the victory.

And almost all of the college bowl games so far have been competitive. It's great. 8)

Also just for the record, strike only took 2 games, and Jerry Rice sat out two other games for injury.

Strike took four games, actually. Three weeks were played with replacements (and some defaulters, which Rice was not one) and one was cancelled entirely.

WOW user "fight two demons" needs to be swiftly punched because he is one of the most idiotic people I have ever seen. Yes, Brady and Moss broke records. But are they better players than Manning and Rice? That could easily be argued. Also, anyone notice how Moss has been on both of the highest scoring offenses? Maybe people will give Moss more credit instead of everyone jumping on Brady's wagon :/ By the way, the lesser Manning had a better game than Brady tonight, in case you didn't notice. RAPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

oh ok thanks mr. e now my argument stands!!!

anyways

yeah i agree, going undefeated is a little overrated. someone on the nfl channel said "if the patriots win the super bowl, the only team you can really compare them to is the 72 dolphins"

something to that effect

which is fucking bullshit, the winning percentage of those dolphins' opponents was about .350

dolphins weren't even the most dominant team in that era

anyways, best team ever comparisons aren't ever fair in any situation, as times have changed and players are a lot bigger/faster/etc...not many teams 30+ years ago could stand up to the spread offenses/huge linemen we have these days

but hell give (p) manning marvin harrison the whole year and we might be talking about the colts going 16-0

and the cowboys are kind of up there...i guess. inferior to the first two but they are also having a great year, compared to the cowboys of the 90s

haha eagles

but i'll say this, winning 4 of 7 super bowls and going undefeated for that last one would really say something about where this team stands all-time

i just feel bad because the colts aren't getting much love :(

but i'll say this, winning 4 of 7 super bowls and going undefeated for that last one would really say something about where this team stands all-time

I dunno exactly what you mean by all-time but the Patriots have certainly dominated the current decade, and could be compared to the Cowboys of the early 90's, Steelers of the 70's, and the Niners of the 80's as far as dynasties go.

... That's it I'm done with the NFL, it's now devolved beyond repair. Call me if the pats loose in the playoffs or superbowl, but this is a failure by everything the NFL has done, everything the NFL stands for. Teams are footnotes now, and games merely a formality. I say test the entire team for drugs, if any of them test positive they forfeit the giants game, fi any of them test positive for steroids, they forfeit the season retroactively.

Falcons fan here (Lord, give me mercy!), chiming in.

The Patriots have done something impressive, but are definitely beatable. They are going to be slugging it out throughout the playoffs, no win is going to come easy. If they have to play the Jags, I'd say the Patriots would still win though. Jags do have the blueprint to beat the Pats, BUT the Jags won't put enough on the board despite that.

I believe the Colts or the Chargers WILL beat New England. New England is strong, but seems to JUST get by in the last couple of weeks.

And, football gods, grant the Falcons Brian Brohm or some other actual QB for the 2008 season. If I have to see Harrington and Mr. lolbroken (Leftwich) on the field next season, I think I'll cut my heart out with a cowbell.
