I am definitly looking forward to Sunday's Carolina/Atlanta game. Why? Check out the avatar. Vick has had his way with the Panthers in the past and now there is no Vick to worry about. I've been a Panthers fan since they entered the league and this is most likely the most exciting thing that has happened in that respect, with the exception of Super Bowl 38.

Yeah, Carolina is 2-1, then again so is Tampa Bay which is scaring the hell out of me. After all, they were supposed to be as bad as Atlanta this year, but they are looking good so far. We play Tampa next weekend (I think the game is in tampa) so who knows what will go down.

EDIT: Oh yeah, one last thing. Did anybody see the Eagles Jerseys today? what the hell were those. One guy on the SNF halftime show said that the only thing the eagles jerseys brought back today was the Great Depression. Seriously though, when I was watching the highlights, I thought my vision was going bad. Light Blue+Yellow+White(lions)+Blue(lions)+Sunlight=a headache

Ugh...those throwbacks were horrific. Even more horrific was me watching in horror as Westbrook scored two TDs and rushed for over 100, knowing I had started Travis Henry because Westbrook had been questionable. Most horrific was the feeling of sickness watching the Bills on GameTrac gave me. It's official, the entire coaching staff other than Bobby April needs to go....again...

Dear Redskins,

I am and always will be a loyal fan. However, yesterday's game vs the Giants was quite the choker. I mean, how to do you blow a 17-3 lead? Kudos to the Giants for keeping us in check, keeping us under 100 yards the second half IIRC.

Jason, I like how you have a big arm, but must you overthrow 9 out of 10 passes to Moss? However, I do like your scrambling ability though.

And Clinton, you are and will always be one of my favorite players, but come on man, fumbling on a handoff?

Finally, and this will always haunt me for the season: you could not score when you had the chance 2nd half. One yard to go! I know going against a goal line defense is like going up against a wall like Steelix, but the point of the running game is to pound the line!

I still am glad we beat the Eagles last week though, but still.

-Bowser

The Eagles Jersey's were a one time thing where they brought back the jerseys from 1933. It might have been a good luck thing, for those who saw the score of that game. The Eagles, wearing those jerseys, scored the most in the first half of a game in their history. 42 points in the first half. Insane.

From someone who actually watched every down... you're severely mistaken. They were going to come out flying on offense, until Losman got his knee buckled on the first play of the game. (Dirtiest hit I've seen in a while, I might add.) Once you put in a rookie QB against the best defense in the NFL, you can't have the same game plan.

On the other side of the ball, we lost our best LB. In the second half, there was a guy getting half the snaps at weakside LB who wasn't even on our roster two weeks ago. The Bills are fucked.

Ahhh! The hell's going on with LT? :( Then again, he can't win all of the games for the chargers and I'm losing confidence in them. I'm still 100% sure they'll make playoffs though.

Also, Patriots look unbeatable right now....

Dude the Packers are for real as i have said before...We jacked up the chargers and Next week we have the vikes. The only problem i can see atm is The cowboys who i dislike very much. It's just in my blood. The throwbacks were horrible, but if it made the lions get lit up, its all good.

Well, hey good news for you... the bears absolutely suck. sure, they played two good teams but GB's schedule will be much easier because of where they finished in the division last year. If you can take 1 out of 2 from Chicago, I think GB is winning that division.

oh yeah and tennessee is up 24-14 right now. I love it! I hope the Saints go 0-3.

Man the NFL is weird this year. I thought my giants were going to blow it. Thats why i hate the giants they are always looking for a way to lose.

oh yeah the aints are 0-3. 2-1 TB vs. 2-1 Car next week. we have had their number in the past, but with this year going the way it is who the hell knows.

Gosh darn those Saints, I have no idea what's wrong with either seeing as I didn't finish watching the games.

Lions may have lost, but we're still 2-1, meh. The Pack is not back, they may win the division, but they're not going to the Super Bowl.

Btw, Rex Grossman has been benched for Brian Griese!!!

I TIED for the second time in one league last week aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I lost my other 2 as well :[

Also, that no TD call in the Vikes game was complete BS, and the rest of the game was just hard to watch. I hope the Vikings can pull it together against the Pack next week, or else we're done for...

Benching Rex will not help the Bears at all. They simply can't get it done on offense plain and simple. Everyone likes to say that defense wins championships.... that's bullshit. Even when the #1 bucs in 2002 and #1 ravens in 2000 won their respective super bowls they acutally massacured their oppoenents (raiders and giants, respectively) when they were on Offensive. Look at the Colts. They had the 32nd best run defense in the league when entering the playoffs and everyone picked the ravens to win the game in the second round, but the colts cover two destroyed them.

Bottom line. Rex sucks, Griese sucks, the Bears offense sucks, They will not win the division. They'll be lucky to make the playoffs. They are not a super bowl contender.

if green bay can find someone to run the ball then they definitely stand a chance

but as it stands

a lot of people including myself have trouble naming ONE back on their roster haha

btw go steelers go

You are mistaken, in the Bucs Super Bowl win, the defense scored 3 touchdowns on interceptions. Without those 3 INTs the game would've been much closer and Oakland would only be down by 3 if they didn't go for the 2 point conversions after every TD. The offense of the Raiders was also kept Gruden's system, thus the Defense of the Bucs knew everything they were going to do.

And once again the Giants were beat by Baltimore's defense. The Baltimore offense scored 20 points, but the big story was that Kerry Collins threw 4 INTs, not letting the Giants' offense do anything, not even score. Without the defense, the game would have been much closer.

Even Indy's win last year is not surprising. They had the second best pass defense in the regular season and grew a run defense in the playoffs. Baltimore's defense stopped the Colts and the only points the Colts did score in that game was from the kicker.

While it is cliche, its a cliche for a reason, defense DOES win championships. The offense helps, but your "massacres" would not have happened without the defense.

Yes, I typed before I thought. After all, look at the 85 bears. Pretty damn good defense. What I should have tried to get at rather was the fact that the Bears have had probably the best defense for the last 5 or 6 years, but their offense fails them time and time again. So my point is, the Bears need some offense before that defense begins to fall apart.

From that perspective, you're absolutely right - a great defense can take a mediocre offense all the way, but a great defense will eventually start to wilt when the offense actually gives the ball away, consistently cannot control TOP, consistently fails to establish field position, etc.

In the year the Ravens won, while their offense was not explosive or prolific, they were able to control the clock, win the field position battle (helped by solid special teams), and make plays when they needed to.

Running the ball really doesnt mean anything tbh. If you look back in this thread on page 3 when i picked the packers to go to the superbowl and i openly stated we had no running game people laughed at me. Its Kind of like pokemon, they do what their best at. Geodude doesnt sweep teams well so why should he try? The packers are not best at running the ball. Their not as bad as LT is, but they can pass the ball and get some YAC. Why? Brett Favre is amazing. Blah Special teams Blah running game Blah. Look at the saints, two amazing running backs and compare their record to ours. Also considering our starting running back is out and we are still 3-0 agaisnt 3 playoff teams.

As for the cowboys i am thinking of who they all beat... the bears the dolphins and the giants. lmfao. The Vikings could be 3-0 agaisnt them. Ouch. Sure they may have put up some good numbers agaisnt the bears, but the Packers are better than the cowboys because we have beat better teams. We beat the chargers, eagles, and giants. Now unless your gonna tell me the chargers and the eagles couldnt beat the bears and the dolphins...id say the Packers are MUCH better than the cowboys

Running the ball is still essential to controlling the clock. You chew up about 4-5 minutes on a passing drive but a running drive takes up to 10 minutes, now tell me can your opponent come back within the quarter after that?

You can't compare the Saints to the Packers because their defenses are different. While the Pack's defense is stepping up, the Saints defense is getting ripped to shreds by the pass.

And yes, the Eagles can't beat the Bears.

Oh I'm not comparing the two teams. Brett Favre is a hometown boy. There used to be huge Brett Favre fever here a while ago but that long since died down. With the season the Saints are having, people are losing faith in them and turning back to Brett Favre again.

Kinda funny actually. People are so fickle.
