The Everything NHL Thread

Nice to see James Reimer finally get a start between the pipes.

Islanders are... dumping salary? I honestly have no clue, were Wisniewski's and Roloson's contracts that rich? Then again, it doesn't take much for a contract to be too much for the Islanders right now...

I always found that the goal of "making the playoffs" is bullshit. The goal, long term, should be to WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS. Teams like the flames forget that, there is no drive to win once they enter the playoffs. It's pathetic.

Both players were in their last contract year, I would assume they wouldn't want to resign with this team. Wisniewski atleast didn't want to resign with Anaheim because he didn't expect them to be competitive.

So with the end of their contracts in sight, Islanders will continue trying to rebuild. The timing might be a bit odd though, so early in the season. But understand their reasoning.

It must suck to be WER, or any other Islanders fan this time of year.

You mean the Islanders right? o_o And if you didn't, Wisniewski didn't re-sign with them because he wanted alot of money.

Not only can Dave Bolland not score, he is now preventing goals for the Blackhawks

enjoy your 1st round playoff exit I guess

fixed

Anyways I think that playoff wise the wings are gonna do well again but I'm going to have either Fliers or maybe Lightning? I will decide when the time comes.

Never said that I wanted the Canucks to get into the playoffs. My point was that Chicago can't win another championship without getting into the playoffs. A team should be built for a championship, I agree, but that includes being able to get into the playoffs.

Now Leighton's on waivers.... I have a lot of work to do to update my rosters on 2k11 <_<

Devils are gonna be beastly next year with a very rare 1st pick in the draft (so long as the injury bug leaves and the cap problems they have that i have no idea of what kind they are) That was just on my mind.

Panthers clearly haven't learned that reality exists yet, pretty neat seeing them doing well.

You say that like every team in the West doesn't have a legitimate shot of missing the playoffs

Team should change its logo. Two propositions :
