Oh and thanks for posting that Smith gif popemobile. It's pretty clearly a dive when you see it in slow motion, the way Eraddd was talking to me made it seem like I was missing something and it was a serious hit. I just wish the gif was a second longer so you could see Smith kick off the boards for the full spin on the ice effect

edit- Oh wow I just saw the Torres hit on Hossa. I can't believe the referee who was within 5 feet of the hit didn't see it. I know the NHL owns the Coyotes and are trying to sell them...but wtf? How can the refereeing suddenly drop off the face of the earth after such a strong season overall? It's happening in EVERY SERIES. Punishments are being pulled out of hats and refs are mysteriously not seeing the biggest hits while calling other penalties before contact is even made...

The playoffs have been an embarrassment so far for the league, they need to clamp down on this now before an alltime cheapshot happens. Those are not the highlights I wanna see out of the playoffs.
 
I think the ref saw it. I may be wrong, but he flinched instantly after it happened. Either way, the non-call was bad.

It's finally Wednesday, can't wait for the Kings game. Canucks'll be more desperate than ever...Has there been any word about whether Daniel Sedin will be back for tonight?
 
Torres suspended indefinitely. Shanahan's gonna make an example out of him with all the stuff happening in the playoffs. I predict at least 7 games.

As for Daniel, game day decision, but he's on the ice right now. Might be playing.

As for our starting goalie, Schneider is taking first goalie warmup. Might be a sign that he's starting? Edit: Confirmed he's starting.

Well picking the right Goalie to start is a good way to make the series interesting, though I'm getting sick of the slew of 1-0 games. I have a feeling both the Penguins and the canucks will win tonight. I am rooting for the rangers for the cup but who in their right mind would watch that game over the Pens/Flyers...
 
I think the score would be the same if Bylsma and Lav were wearing the pads and playing in net while Fleury and Bryz coach.
 
Welp, Bryzgalov got taken out for Bobrovsky(?). Letting in five goals in less than 25 minutes kinda does that to you, though.

EDIT: 8-3 for the Penguins now. Holy lol
 
No, that's not true. He totally deserved all three of those cross checks while on his knees.

Where is the match penalty for the guy that swung his stick at Green's face like he was trying to chop down a tree? And don't say it was unintentional because all of these incidental blows and "that's part of the game" hits seem to only be landing on the heads of guys with concussion problems.
