I have a slight issue with Torres' 25 game suspension. It's the longest suspension given since Simon and the other dude who crosschecked Kesler in the face. Longer than Bertuzzi's (20 game suspension), Cooke's (It was a 10-15 game suspension at the end of the last season and playoffs if I recall correctly). Torres has been a huge thorn in the side of the NHL and he needs the "Cooke" treatment (throw the book at him because of previous dangerous plays and headshots) but Christ, that long of a suspension? It still feels like the NHL is trying to overcompensate for the amount of shit that's been flinged around in the playoffs and I can't help feel that this standard won't be applied to anyone else except Torres, meaning that in the end, it won't help cut down on headshots (since I really don't see anyone else getting a 25 game suspension unless they started a nice track record like Torres or Cooke). I would've been much more comfortable if it had been a 10-15 game suspension, but 25 seems too much in my opinion, especially after Shanahan's statement saying "1 playoff game =8-10 regular season games" or something ridiculous like that. The inconsistency is really bugging me here.
Edit: Also I was on Yahoo! Sports earlier today and I realised that whenever there had been a Luongo-Schneider controversy, another writer other than Cotsonika has written a long analysis on it. Last year it was Passan (normally a college sports + baseball writer), now it's Hart.
