obviously I don't any of their production, even their POTENTIAL contributions, so I don't see what the issue is

i also find it to be slightly amusing that you can say i had a feeble team performance when it took your team 45+ skaters and my team less than 31 skaters (or was it 31 i forget) to beat me in those categories, and that was with no ovechkin (my best player), and your guys like teemu having unusually effective weeks

I totally agree I'm completely underwhelmed by my team's performance, and kind of disappointed.
I probably jumped the gun on Richards / Boucher / Jovocop but honestly I was tired of them killing my +/-, and the shots that all three give me I don't need and with my feeling that the Stars won't turn it around, Richards' advantage for Assists and PPP just wasn't appealing to me. Besides, I like Langkow and Koivu as my centers and having 4 of one position is never good. The other two were just murdering me everywhere besides shots, so I figured I'd just pick up two defensemen (MOntador and Rivet) who help me in my weakest category, PIM.
I'm really hoping Ovechkin and Nash pick it up because I earnestly believe my top 6 of Jokinen / Langkow (or Koivu) / Ovechkin / Nash / Doan / Havlat is as good as anyone else's...just all besides Jokinen / Doan are underperforming, and Jokinen is underperforming for what I expected.
Also Khabibulin won't be irrelevent from what I gather on the Chicago forums, people are starting to turn on Huet.
Of course, being the eternal optimist that I am, I'm hoping the Devils / Red Wings (both Osgood and Conklin have less than .900%, as I am sure you are aware of :P) acquire him =)
As for that Langkow for Selanne trade, this was made before Selanne had any momentum, and since I am pretty sure you watched the games, before Selanne looked anything like a hockey player. I mean, the first 5 games he looked like a fat shit lol. I also thought I remembered you saying you thought you were weak in C and that you liked Langkow, though my memory might be fuzzy and that might be you thought you were weak in RW.

Khabs will be put on waivers again and picked up for half of his salary. The hawks management doesnt want him and to them whether the fans do or not is irrelevant.
I have never seen a single goaltender that fans wouldn't turn on in a heartbeat at the first signs of trouble(see: Roy in Montreal), i wouldn't take the fans too seriously... Dallas fans are turning on Turco too but he won't go anywhere, all that matters is management and they clearly intend for him to be the goalie of the future. Wings definitely won't get him, we have too little cap room as is to the point we can't keep some forwards we want in the big club in the big club and have too many goalies as is, we have two NHL ready AHLers in net as is. Devils might though although they don't have a ton of cap room once Rolston is off IR either but I'm not as familiar with the caplogy there.
Also speaking of not looking like hockey players that is two in a row the Caps looked terrible I am NOT pleased >:( At least they got a point out of that one I guess.

And in all likelihood that's what I suspect will happen, which makes it highly unlikely either of the above teams get a shot at him unless the Devils absolutely tank without Brodeur, which is certainly possible but probably unlikely since the skaters are playing so much better this year. Khabs is on the last year of his contract and the Hawks can't/won't afford to resign him with big contracts on Huet and Campbell and a bunch of new ones like Kane, Toews, and Sharp to sign soon, especially with Crawford and Niemi looking strong in the minors. Khabs is not in the long term plans and the future starts now if they're actually in playoff contention.

Jeez, the flames didn't do a very good job tonight. All I can really remember as a standout is Gretzkys face after the two fights at the same time. His players fought well, it's just that he still apparently doesn't like fighting.
It's not a finesse league anymore Gretzky, I'm smelling a revival of power forwards in more ways than Ovetchkin and Iginla can demonstrate!

I was trying to figure out why I liked Dallas in the 90s recently and now I remember - it was Modano and Zubov! Good to see the former is still worth cheering for. I'm not sure those two and Turco alone make the team tolerable but at least once they turn the ship around it won't be a total loss...
of course the constant canadian nationalism might be an issue but i'm pretty I'd vote for anyone who wears the clothes he does, there is something hilarious and interesting about him that never gets old to me no matter how stupid whatever he is saying might be!

Lou Lamoriello can make salaries disappear like nobody's business. Alex Mogilny, for example. There was another one who he traded to the Sharks, but I can't remember that player's name.
EDIT : Vladimir Malakhov was his name, I believe.

With Brodeur out for a good 3-4 months, it's pretty apparent that there will be a new Vezina trophy winner. Despite it being still very early in the year, who do you think it will be? I hope it's Ryan Miller. ;)
