The Everything NHL Thread

There was a stream link but it's probably down now.

I'll try getting a youtube link for tomorrow.

And something about the Sharks turns Luongo and Bieksa into godmode. Jesus, best performance from both of them this season.

Randomly some guy on my fantasy had to drop someone and pick up Bieksa for that game, then trade him away. Seems like a genius move but I know better...

Excellent Hawks win against the wings. Glad Crawford is back as the starter even though Emery was doing solid (no racist)

Right now it looks like a Hawks/Nucks WCF and that's gonna be epic

watching 24/7 right now for the first time and it owns. all I can say is that I really hope the Hawks play the WC next year

BS officiating was BS yet again and this time the Wings got jobbed out of at least a point. What a bs way to lose.

here's a tip. every fan of every team thinks the refs are out to get them, and very seldom is it true

the red wings are no different

If anything, the Red Wings get more officiating THEIR way than anyone else. Except Holmstrom, he gets goalie interference penalties on reputation alone.

I'll keep that in mind the next time you're complaining about officiating in a Hawks-Vanucks game in Vancouver or the next time you're fuming over a perceived bs noncall on a Martin St. Louis SO goal.

Let's get to the big picture of this, though, shall we? This post tells me that:

A). You clearly didn't watch the game last night. Only three of the Wings five penalties were legit, those goalie interference calls were weak-as-your-jokes calls (at least against Franzen), and that PS call was BS. Lidstrom moved the air around Toews and the refs did one of their trademarked "make up calls". That goal led to the total tally of 3 goals to Detroit's 2. I wonder to myself why I think you'd understand since you played the Kings the other night Have I said that Detroit should have won? No. I think that game should have gone into OT where both teams duke it out to the bitter end and were rewarded with a point and the winner is decided by skill and not by the ref's whistle.

B). You clearly are a heartless individual who won't shy away from the opportunity to troll anyone, even if it means employing irrational thought to satisfy your engrossing need to try and put yourself on a pedestal of glory over us inferior intellects. Your strawman is obvious. I never said the Refs were out to get the Wings. I call it as I see it, and that was a great game ruined by bs officiating, and it affected the Wings, standing wise no less. I also have to deal with you yet again.

C). You do Synre no good in my eyes the more you keep producing these kind of posts (Yes, I'm calling you out). I've found myself wondering how I get chewed out for attempting to be funny (though you decided otherwise), and yet I see popemobile produce worse garbage than the kind you went on a purging spree. I see no hint of a subtle warning, no indication of intolerance, not even a deleted post (to my recent knowledge). By some miracle, or lack of integrity thereof, he still pulls this crap. To me, it's a wonder how you are a supermod. :evan:

The rest of your posts I can't really comment since I don't watch the Red Wings unless the Canucks are playing them, but you continually take a small sample size and extrapolate them into huge generalizations. For example, taking the last matchup between Vancouver and Detroit, Detroit was awarded 4 powerplays, while Vancouver none. Jimmy Howard should have been penalized for roughing up Hansen exactly the same way Kesler was penalized after trying to instigate after the hit but he wasn't. Clearly the refs weren't out to job the Red Wings! Every fan has their blinds on when their team commits a penalty, and are quick to crucify those who see otherwise, but the lengths you take it are much more extreme than others.

I'd also like to crucify those who created the schedule for tonight. Van-LA 10:30 EST, 7:30 PST, and it's NYE. Great for ratings.

Itt J-man again proves he's incapable of even reading the entire page of the thread he's posting in before posting stupid shit

And there's nothing trolly about that popemobile post because he's exactly right. Get your head out of your ass. The officials aren't out to get anyone and even if you apparently didn't say that word for word your frequent blaming of the officials makes your perspective pretty obvious. There's a hundred calls every game that could go one way or the other. Once again you have the most immature, biased post on this page of the thread(somehow managing to be worse than a umad gif). No one wants to read you ranting and whining. Stop.

Oh theres a hockey thread, niceeee. Erm I've just recently started following Hockey, kinda hard to though over here in the UK, but I watch what games I can online, and make sure to play tons of NHL 12 :D Penguins ftw, no question bout who my favorite team is :D

If this thread wasn't so large, I think I'd be looking for Synre posts during the Caps-Penguins series of a few years ago right now.

edit : found nothing.

Why was I under the impression you thought the NHL 'staged' the Pens' comeback in that series.

Personally, the only one time I remember feeling the officiating was bullshit was during game 7 of TB-BOS last year in which no penalty were awarded the entire game, something I had never ever seen before in all the hockey games I've watched. It just looked like they got the call not to award 'too many' penalties for game 7. It made a difference because TB won all its games when a lot of penalties were awarded and BOS all of theirs when there were little of them.

I'm sure everyone agrees there are bad officiated games, just not that the refs have it against any team in particular.

ITT: pope and j-man make shitty posts that make everyone else wonder why they ontinue to read it.

Can we get back to hockey now and not consistent bitch fighting please.

On a completely different and more somber note I'd lake to take the end of 2012 to pay homage to Wade Belak, Derek Boogaard, the members of Yaroslay Lokomotiv and all other member of the hockey fraternity who lost their lives this year. RIP.

You forgot Rypien, but I guess he fits under the "hockey fraternity" clause... What an awful year for hockey... On one hand I want to thank you for reminding us, and on the other hand I want to yell at you for reminding why this year was bad. Just goes to show that this was one of those years.

Popemobile, HBO's website should have them. Also, I know the Penguin's NHL site has them and the NHL site might have them too.

Jets vs Leafs starting in a couple minutes. Unless Kessel and Lupul are reunited, GG Toronto. I wonder if our loudness will effect the Leafs like it does other teams coming from their almost as loud home arena. Pretty excited to watch this game (though I'm not at it, which is probably good as I'd have a hard time booing Kessel).
