Tim "gettin too old for this shit" Thomas

Seems both my East (Canadiens) and West (Avalanche) teams won't be making the playoffs, it's time to jump on bandwagons.

I'll start cheering for the Blues in the West and the Penguins in the East.
Curious how this postseason will unfold

hahaha that's awesome, fucking women

also gg Penguins, nice job winning when the refs wanted you to

Just got back from watching a nice 4-0 shutout of the lameo Ducks by the Coyotes, a friend's coworker won some sort of prize that gave him luxury box tickets so it was a fun experience.

Cory Schneider is hilarious. Love his AV and Burrows imitation. I'll post a YT when it goes up.

Impressions at 10:00 in the first, and the beginning of the second.

He was a good interview. Handled everything really well and the impressions were great. He'll definitely get his shot as a starter somewhere soon.

Laughing pretty hard at the shit at the end of Pens/Flyers game. Not sure what Laviolette thinks he's doing getting all ragey: sorry your team played like the same goons they've always been all game and then one of your dumb players got lit up in the last minute and a half of the game in a situation where it was obvious the other team was going to go for hits. He should be happy the refs bailed the Flyers out of all those fights because the Pens had about four pairings where they would have absolutely stomped them. Not sure why he thought having Briere out with 90 seconds left in a 6-3 game against a team he's going to play a playoff series against in a week was a good idea to begin with...

Will be a fun playoff series.

wow is it great to see the Flyers expose the Penguins like the classless fightless bitches they are on national TV or what? In their own building too. The Penguins are basically the Canucks of the Eastern Conference: more than happy to talk shit, cheapshot you and bark at the refs but as soon as someone challenges them face-to-face they crumble. It's funny that they gained a superstar talent back in their lineup and got weaker. I haven't enjoyed watching a non-Bruins game like this in a while.

Also I'm surprised jrrrrrrr hasn't posted this yet:

Bruins have pretty amazing commercials.

Other teams don't have commercials like this? I think I take NESN for granted sometimes...

shades of Ruff v. Murray back in 2007

but I fucking hate the "oh you threw a good hit we're going to fight now" mentality, that was an awesome hit

I think the fight was justified considering the hit was thrown on one of their "better" forwards (Briere's had a semi-rough season but he's still a threat) in the last 2 minutes of the game while down 3 goals. Clean or not (it was clean but that's besides the point), the intention of the hit was pretty clear and Philly was right to respond to it.

I do agree with the "fighting b/c of clean, hard hit" being bs though.

Or Laviolette could, you know, realize that his team has already won the game and not put Briere on the ice. He doesn't need scorers out there against the Penguins' 4th line with a 3 goal lead. Not saying it's Laviolette's fault that Vitale decks Briere probably unnecessarily but he definitely could have helped avoid the situation completely. Example: The mugger is still responsible for holding up some guy at gunpoint but the guy could have not gone down that dark alley and maybe still have his cash..

I don't know what happened before that, but home team has the last line change. That was Bylsma's call to put out his 4th-liners.

And I don't agree with the whole "X shouldn't have been playing Y line that late in the game", because who does that leave to put on the ice? Let Flyers 4th line beat up on Crosby/Malkin/Staal? They already cross-checked Crosby a minute before that, even assuming that hit wasn't completely clean and part of a perfect hockey play, it was justified too.

The Penguins are basically the Canucks of the Eastern Conference

You can't say that, the Penguins have actually won Stanley Cups.

The Pens are slumping, any thought of catching the Rangers is gone. Sucks, really didn't want to play the Flyers in the first round, they might be the best team in the east, and they sure as hell have our number right now.

As for the fight, who cares, it's hockey, I enjoyed it. I love the rivalry. People bitch about OH CROSBY IS A BABY, or THE FLYERS ARE THUGS, but who cares, it all makes it more entertaining in the end.

holy fucking shitballs

I'm still not convinced the Sabres won that game, what just HAPPENED

For all of those people that just hop on the "offensive defensemen suck at defense" bandwagon and think that Karlsson does not deserve the Norris:

I heard during the Hurricanes game tonight that Erik Karlsson leads all NHL Defensemen with 63 takeaways.

He also made this goal-saving play: http://video.thescore.com/watch/karlsson-saves-a-goal

Anybody out there still think he doesn't deserve the Norris?

Since Arti stepped down I don't have anyone to set an obnoxiously big Bieksa avatar that would annoy others. And as long as they're facing the Bruins, I have no problems being a Sens fan for a round.
