Consumed by Darkness...
The Winner of Week 33 goes to Albacore's Analytic Magnezone! Congratulations for entering the Hall of Fame! (Again!!!!)

The Pokemon for Week 34 is Heracross!
/

Also before I begin discussing about Heracross, why tf is Magnet Rise an actual set on the Analysis. Anyway, Mega Heracross is a very threatening Pokemon to go against on any playstyle as it has a massive 185 Attack stat making it the strongest Physical Attacker in the OU Tier. Gaining Mega Evolution it also gains a little bulk in its Defenses, however it loses 10 Speed, which makes it vulnerable from attacks. Heracross on it's own can do dent in most teams thanks to it's great coverage moves.

P.S. Check the SmogDex (OU) before posting

Anyway GL!

Heracross @ Heracronite
Ability: Guts
EVs: 240 HP / 136 Atk / 132 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Rock Blast
- Substitute
- Swords Dance

This set basically forgoes Pin Missile to run both Substitute and Swords Dance. Although you do miss Bug STAB, Fighting+Rock is notoriously perfect coverage, so you really only miss out on Rocky Helmet Garchomp, Slowbro, and OHKOes on offensive Psychics like Latios and Starmie. In return, you gain the ability to completely take advantage of the likes of Landorus-T, Mega Sableye, Gliscor, Amoonguss, Tangrowth and more by not only Subbing on them to prevent status and block low damage from them, but also set up Swords Dance to heavily threaten the rest of the team.

Heracross @ Choice Band
Ability: Guts
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Megahorn
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off

Band Hera is disgustingly powerful and acts as a fun status absorber. If it absorbs a Will-O-Wisp it's gonna get a kill every time it comes in. Close Combat and Megahorn are disgusting, Stone Edge nails anything that resists its STABs for heavy damage, KOff allows it to remove things items while also giving it a 100% accurate option to OHKO Gengar and a way to deal heavy damage to Coffagrigus and PhysDef Jellicent.

Scarf Heracross

Heracross @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Megahorn
- Knock Off
- Stone Edge/Earthquake

Scarf Heracross is criminally underrated for a couple of reason:
(1) with all this status around, Guts activates quite often;
(2) you can run Heracross along with another pokemon good in its base form with its Megastone;
(3) Choice Scarf is nice with an odd 85 base Spe.
The moveset is pretty basic.

bulk up mega heracross

Heracross @ Heracronite
Ability: Guts
EVs: 240 HP / 136 Atk / 132 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bulk Up
- Pin Missle
- Low Kick
- Rock Blast

This Heracross set is very similar to the Bulk Up Talonflame in that an offensive physical attacker uses a more bulkier / defensive variant to help check a plethora of Pokemon. first and foremost, bulk up is heracross's boosting move that should be used on forced switches in order to make it more of a threat. pin missle is its main stab move while low kick helps it hit heavier mons / rock- and steel-types. rock blast is very useful against talonflame and other flying-types which heracross has a really hard time against.
252 Atk Life Orb Bisharp Knock Off vs. 208 HP / 0 Def Mega Heracross: 60-70 (16.9 - 19.8%) -- guaranteed 6HKO
252 Atk Life Orb Bisharp Iron Head vs. 208 HP / 0 Def Mega Heracross: 148-175 (41.9 - 49.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
104 Atk Mega Heracross Low Kick (80 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Bisharp: 628-744 (231.7 - 274.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Life Orb Weavile Icicle Crash vs. 208 HP / 0 Def Mega Heracross: 152-179 (43 - 50.7%) -- 2.3% chance to 2HKO
252 Atk Tyranitar Stone Edge vs. 208 HP / 0 Def Mega Heracross: 148-175 (41.9 - 49.5%) -- 26.6% chance to 2HKO after sandstorm damage
44 Atk Technician Mega Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 208 HP / 0 Def Mega Heracross: 84-100 (23.7 - 28.3%) -- 94% chance to 4HKO
252 Atk Jirachi Fire Punch vs. 208 HP / 0 Def Mega Heracross: 122-144 (34.5 - 40.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Hello there! I'm quite new but I think the set I build is decent.

Assault Vest Hera

Heracross (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Careful Nature
- Stone Edge / Rock Slide / Rock Tomb
- Close Combat
- Megahorn
- Knock Off

This set focuses on a more defensive side of Heracross, since his attack is pretty high already; I went for a more bulky set. He has Stone Edge to hit flying types and fighting types, Close Combat for the STAB as well as Megahorn that can deal with dangerous grass types such as Serperior and Knock Off to deal with other Pokemon.

http://play.pokemonshowdown.com/battle-ou-393013569 In which Heracross survives a D Dance Waterfall from Gyarados

Revenge Killer Heracross
Heracross @ Heracronite
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Retaliate
- Rock Blast
- Pin Missile
- Close Combat

The way this set works is quite simple really, when one of your teammates dies use retalliate which will most of the time be a one hit KO as long as the opponent doesn't resist it. (If it's a steel type simply close combat them and same if it's a rock type.) Then with Moxie you have extra attack so you can either mega or stay as Heracross and destroy teams. pretty fun set.
I hate to be that guy, but both STAB Close Combat and STAB Pin Missile do more damage than a boosted Retalliate

252 Atk Mega Heracross Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Manaphy: 256-303 (75 - 88.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Mega Heracross Pin Missile (5 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Manaphy: 270-320 (79.1 - 93.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Mega Heracross Retaliate (140 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Manaphy: 199-235 (58.3 - 68.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 Atk Mega Heracross Focus Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Scizor: 238-282 (84.6 - 100.3%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Mega Heracross Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Scizor: 192-226 (68.3 - 80.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Mega Heracross Focus Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Manaphy: 319-376 (93.5 - 110.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Mega Heracross Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Manaphy: 255-301 (74.7 - 88.2%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

252 Atk Mega Heracross Close Combat vs. 248 HP / 216+ Def Rotom-W: 181-214 (59.7 - 70.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
Can also gurantee OHKO Klefki with no def evs while CC is 18.8% chance to OHKO(no rocks)

Can you just explain what the speed IVs are for? Hera sits at a pretty dense speed bracket..

bulk up mega heracross

Heracross @ Heracronite
Ability: Guts
EVs: 208 HP / 104 Atk / 196 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bulk Up
- Megahorn
- Low Kick / Night Slash
- Stone Edge

This Heracross set is very similar to the Bulk Up Talonflame in that an offensive physical attacker uses a more bulkier / defensive variant to help check a plethora of Pokemon. first and foremost, bulk up is heracross's boosting move that should be used on forced switches in order to make it more of a threat. megahorn is its main stab move while low kick helps it hit heavier mons / rock- and steel-types. night slash can be used to hit psychics that trouble heracross and stone edge is very useful against talonflame and other flying-types which heracross has a really hard time against.

252 Atk Life Orb Bisharp Iron Head vs. 208 HP / 0 Def Mega Heracross: 148-175 (41.9 - 49.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
104 Atk Mega Heracross Low Kick (80 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Bisharp: 628-744 (231.7 - 274.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 Atk Tyranitar Stone Edge vs. 208 HP / 0 Def Mega Heracross: 148-175 (41.9 - 49.5%) -- 26.6% chance to 2HKO after sandstorm damage
44 Atk Technician Mega Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 208 HP / 0 Def Mega Heracross: 84-100 (23.7 - 28.3%) -- 94% chance to 4HKO
252 Atk Jirachi Fire Punch vs. 208 HP / 0 Def Mega Heracross: 122-144 (34.5 - 40.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
Unless I'm completely missing something why wouldn't you use Pin Missile and Rock Blast, as they are stronger than Megahorn/Stone Edge and the latter is more accurate. Unless you're choosing to not mega evolve and abuse Guts, which would ruin the point of using Heracronite and it would be wise to switch to Leftovers, but regular Bulk Up Heracross sounds awful. Night Slash is also pretty worthless on it because you hit all the Psychic-types with Pin Missile, and the only very relevant fat Ghost-type is Mega Sableye which is hit a lot harder by Pin. Also the Speed benchmark you're hitting with that spread is a little weird because it doesn't outspeed anything relevant, so you're better off investing more in bulk. I'd recommend just using the standard 240 HP / 136 Atk / 132 Spe spread with an Adamant nature, so you still have plenty of bulk investment as well as enough Speed for defensive Lando-T as well as most Rotom-W, but you can choose to run 136 to creep the 44 Spe variants.

Mighty Horn Heracross

Heracross @ Salac Berry
Ability: Swarm
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Endure
- Megahorn
- Stone Edge / Earthquake
- Close Combat

Just a goofy set, why not.

Endure assures the activation of Salac Berry, then use Swarm boost and Speed Boost to straight up Megahorn everything (Swarm boosted of course). Of course things like Talonflame don't care about Hera's mini DD boost, but for everyone else, Hera at least gets either the speed or the revenge kill

STAB Close Combat hits pretty hard, and Stone Edge is the choice coverage, although EQ helps a lot with Poison mons who eat Heracross for lunch.
