Yeah, I heard this being discussed with no definitive answer. Personally I believe this would be a stupid rule and should be changed if it exists as 1) it was not laid out before hand, so many people (such as myself) already may have a outside battle with a tournament Pokemon going on, and 2) not every person has a ton of Pokemon, so by stopping them from using 4 of them for what could be months, it really hurts their ability to train.
 
^. Seeing as it's not part of the OP (and, to the best of my knowledge, not officially stated for some time), I'd like to put in my two cents and say that battles that have tourney mons in them should be allowed to finish.
 
not only that, but they have no right to just throw in this new rule all of a sudden. I say this rule should be completely and utterly abolished; battles canceled because of this would be continued, and future battles with tourney Pokemon would be legal.
 
I'm not in the Tourney, but I'll toss my two cents as well:

"Along with these prizes, players will receive the regular rewards of ASB battles in the tournament. That means 1 EC, 2 MC, and 1 DC when a Pokemon is used in battle, and 1 KO Counter per knock out. These tokens can be spent in the specially made ASB Tournament Approval Thread. Moves and abilities gained during the tournament must be claimed in this thread. You can only use new moves and abilities in the tournament. You cannot use these new moves outside in separate battles." (As quoted from the OP).

By saying the stuff I bolded in the OP, aren't you implying that Pokemon in the tourney can be used outside it as well?

Edit: I'm glad this ended up being just a huge rumor. I never was part of this tournament, but I still felt strongly about the issues others had with this "rule"...

QFT. Since there is no mention in the OP, then it is safe to assume that we are allowed to use Tourney-mons outside the Tournament. If it turns out that we can't, then we should at least, let the battles with Tourney-mons in them that started after the Tournament began finish. Otherwise, this would turn into a farce with many people complaining & whatnot.
I'd like to hear from all the other Tournament organisers to confirm whether or not we're allowed to used Tourney-mons outside of the Tournament.

No, there is no rule against using tourney Pokes out of the tourney, except in RP's.

22:52 Deck_Knight Timelines are separated, so you can use them, you just can't import/export any moves gained in the tourney

It's confirmed. No need to cancel your battles.

If Im in a tournament battle and the ref goes over the time DQ, how do I go about getting a replacement? Should I just ask around or is their a special tournament system?

There's no special system.

Attention. If you have won your tourney, you must send us the two Pokemon you will use for the next round or risk having them randomized. The first Pokemon you list shall be the one sent out first, so please consider the order before you send the teams.

A reminder PM will be sent out when all R1 tourney matches have been completed. You will have three days after the reminder PM is sent out to send in teams.
 
Round Two Matchups are up!

All teams have either been randomized or received. 48 hours will be held for predictions, then Pokemon will go up.
 
Engineer_Pikachu will be an extraordinarily tough opponent, to be sure, but this win will not be an easy one for him and a brutal stretch for me. Good luck, and may the better player and/or the player with better mons win.
 
Yay...Flamestrike...gl Flamestrike. (Prays for him to have sent Ground-Weak mons...)

EDIT: Checking his tourney squad, I actually have a really good shot at winning this match, especially since one of the mons I sent will pretty much rape all of his squad...

But seriously, Engineer deserved that win; Bide dropping to 1.75x is still GHEY.
 
And... Galladiator proves to be the luckiest mofo ever. Getting two bys in the tournament already. (first one: DQ, second one: Charmander quitting)
