Going to the VGC and not playing in it? Cossack, if you want the element of surprise, all you have to do is keep your team a secret. We're obviously not going to believe that you'd go and not compete.

If drcossack does well at another VGC, there's no point to him competing in it again. If he did, then he'd just be a douchebag to the other players, pushing another Smogonite (or Skarmblisser, as the case may be) out of a winning spot.

Right. Given that I predict Newark to have 1500+ people in the same place (for both divisions), why go when I can't guarantee myself a spot? I have two parades and a concert that day, and it's also my mom's birthday. At any rate, it'll be hard enough for you guys to get spots, and you don't need another monster preventing someone from entering.

Atlanta will be much easier, and I'm fairly confident I can win that.
 
If I could go to Atlanta or another one with less people, I'd do that. But sadly I can't. :/

Indy is closer but it's a LCQ. I can afford to go to Newark AND the LCQ (in case I don't top 16).

xDDDD That's an interesting point.

If there were a smaller concentration of Smogoners dispersed between the regionals, it would be more appealing to go to each one, rather than avoiding Newark to go to Atlanta. So what Cossack is doing isn't a bad thing imo. Makes sense.
 
I'm from Jersey. I think I'll wind up going to this. If not just to get a Legit Shiny Eevee.
I'll start assembling a team; might get some friends in on this, too.
 
Can't wait for this. Hopefully I don't get hax in the fourth round like I got at JAA in 2006 (three paralyzes on my Kyogre, wtf lol).
 
Okay, help me out New Jerseyans--is it possible to get to and from the Expo center from a train station? Are there busses? Is it walkable? Or how long of a cab ride would I be looking at?

Sadly I'm the state just ahead of you, so you're in the opposite direction of where I'm going. Otherwise I'd give you a ride if you were on the way. lol

I'm in-- I mean, Veilstone City is in central MA, closer to the coast. Who are you travelling with so far and would my mom think you're a rapist?
 
I'll be attending, I don't post often at all but I think I deserve a medal for most time lurking lol. It's a shame they moved it was like 30 mins from my house now it's like 2 hrs

I'm 20 minutes away from Newark, so i'm pretty lucky and gonna be there ^_^

Tell me something though (cause this is my first time), do you represent smogon when you go there at all?

That I do not know. We'll certainly be seeing people from Smogon there and by all means there'll be some "Smogon Atmosphere" so to speak. Should be interesting. I suppose it's up to you to represent I guess.
 
Alright good to know. I'm sure there are gonna be some other 'groups' from other forums, probably from serebii or marriland or something.
I can't imagine not seeing at least 1 smogon-er in the semis ^_^
