Rotom-Mow @ Psychium Z
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dream Eater
- Leaf Storm
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt / Hidden Power Fire / Defog

252 SpA Rotom-Mow Shattered Psyche (180 BP) vs. 252 HP / 72+ SpD Amoonguss: 340-400 (78.7 - 92.5%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Z-Dream Eater Rotom-Mow is the revival of the great Z-Dream Eater Rotom-Wash that I advocated for so long ago. After pretty much any chip damage, including Rotom-Mow's own Thunderbolt or Hidden Power Fire. Defog sets have slightly higher difficulty in chipping down Amoonguss to the proper level, but it can do so with team support nonetheless, and Defog is still important sometimes for the role compression. Heavily weakening or KOing Amoonguss then paves the way for ZDE Mowtom's best partner, Mega Altaria!

got sniped by cake on z-dream eater rotom, rip

also damn does he type fast

Raikou @ Psychium Z
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Extrasensory
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Calm Mind

This lure is pretty self-explanatory. Calm Mind Raikou can often have trouble with Amoonguss, which is what Psychium is here for. It also hits Rhyperior, Mamoswine, Nidoking, and Kommo-o.

Nihilego @ Psychium Z
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Psychic
- Sludge Wave
- Grass Knot

Set was more prominent during the Venu meta, but still functions as an effective lure. Toxic Spikes just for that extra push for them to come in.

252 SpA Nihilego Shattered Psyche (175 BP) vs. 248 HP / 72+ SpD Amoonguss: 376-444 (87.2 - 103%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery

Krookodile @ Firium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Fire Fang

Unoriginal lure since Adaam already posted a Firium Krook in this thread but I like it as a lure to bring in Amoongus. Click Earthquake as the Amoongus comes in and then scorch it with an Inferno Overdrive. Fire Fang is also a nice lure for Mowtom and as a pseudo Scizor lure.

252 Atk Krookodile Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 184 Def Amoonguss: 162-192 (37.5 - 44.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Black Sludge recovery

252 Atk Krookodile Inferno Overdrive (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 184 Def Amoonguss: 260-306 (60.1 - 70.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

CM Psyshock Sylveon

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Wish
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock

I find Calm Mind more useful than Protect because the 6% HP gained back with Leftovers isn't enough most of the time. Also, Psyshock is generally a solid option over HP Fire in order to hit the psysical side of the spectrum and to deal properly with Fighting types not weak to Fairy (Infernape, Cobalion) and annoying Poisons that are resistant to Pixilate Hyper Voice (Amoonguss and Tentacruel).
Wish + Leftovers is more than enough to keep yourself healthy throughout the match.
Without HP Fire you lose when you are facing Scizor, but Psyshock is much more useful anyway.
Defensively speaking you tank special hits way better thanks to the +1 SpD boosts.

4 SpA Sylveon Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 184 Def Amoonguss: 134-158 (31 - 36.5%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Black Sludge recovery
+1 4 SpA Sylveon Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 184 Def Amoonguss: 200-236 (46.2 - 54.6%) -- 6.6% chance to 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery
4 SpA Sylveon Psyshock vs. 248 HP / 156 Def Tentacruel: 146-172 (40.2 - 47.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Black Sludge recovery
+1 4 SpA Sylveon Psyshock vs. 248 HP / 156 Def Tentacruel: 216-256 (59.5 - 70.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

The winner is A Cake Wearing A Hat with 9! Congrats and sorry for the delay; your set will be added to the archive.

Moltres used to be a hidden gem in RU, but it has risen to UU and has become an extremely strong metagame threat. While its main weakness may be Stealth Rock, there are several other ways to remove it including lures.

Deadline is Sunday 11:59PM GMT+1. Have fun!

Cobalion @ Fightinium Z / Steeluim Z / Shuca Berry / Leftovers [this thing can run a lot of items, whatever you'd want really depending on the team]
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Close Combat
- Iron Head
- Stone Edge

So, moltres is typically a very safe switch in to cobalion, and as it can be run as a stealth ocker it would want to switch into rocks to be able to defog, or get a safe hit off since typically the stabs of Coba won't hurt it much. That's where stone edge comes in. Stone edge is 4x effective and can easily kill moltres if not scouted for.

Stone Edge Mixed Infernape

Infernape @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 168 Atk / 88 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Overheat
- Close Combat
- Grass Knot
- Stone Edge over Gunk Shot

This is a review of the classical Mixed LO Infernape with 88 EVs in Attack to OHKO Krookodile with Close Combat even after Intimidate. Maximum Speed investment with a Naive nature gives Infernape as much Speed as possible while cutting into its Special Defense so not to decrease either offensive stat; Naive is preferred over Hasty because it allows Infernape to maintain its ability to soft check Scizor. The remaining EVs are invested in Special Attack, giving Overheat and Grass Knot a decent amount of power. Blaze is the preferred ability, giving Infernape a decently powerful Overheat or Fire Blast when it's low on HP.
Stone Edge is used over Gunk Shot to hit Flying-types like Mega Aerodactyl, Togekiss and Moltres, which otherwise walls this set, while also almost KOing Chandelure.

168 Atk Life Orb Infernape Stone Edge vs. 248 HP / 44 Def Moltres: 468-556 (122.1 - 145.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
168 Atk Life Orb Infernape Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Chandelure: 250-294 (95.7 - 112.6%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO
168 Atk Life Orb Infernape Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 160+ Def Togekiss: 185-218 (49.4 - 58.2%) -- 62.9% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
168 Atk Life Orb Infernape Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Aerodactyl-Mega: 260-307 (86.3 - 101.9%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO on the switch

SR is mandatory to achieve the KO.

Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Stun Spore

Moltres easily comes in on Amoongus just for you to click Stun Spore. Now defensive variants cannot check the Pokémon that they are designed to and offensive variants are slower than Heracross and you get to grin at this paralyzed bird. I still want to click x when I see this and I’m playing with webs.

Heracross @ Choice Scarf
Ability : Moxie or Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Facade
- Stone Edge / Rock Slide

Heracross, by virtue of its typing alone, practically invites Moltres to switch in, to which your opponent will instanstly be greeted by a 4x effective rock move. Even defensive variants of Moltres are capable of getting KOed on the switch or if they stay in and attempt to blow/burn you away. Rock Slide can be chosen over Stone Edge for better accuracy, but the lesser power can be a risk.
