HAPPY NOT KNOWING (Florges-Blue) @ Leftovers
Ability: Symbiosis
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Synthesis
- Aromatherapy
- Wish
Florges fits naturally on the teams with Defog Volcanion and its wish support is rather handy when your removal is weak to hazards itself. Aromatherapy can remedy removing Toxic Spikes on Volcanion if you don't have a grounded poison like Amoonguss yourself too.

Beedrill @ Beedrillite
Ability: Swarm
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Poison Jab
- Drill Run
- Toxic Spikes / Knock Off

Bee is a wonderful partner for most Volcanion sets, but Defog is extremely nice because Bee is weak to Rocks and has no recovery. Volcanion is slow and also doesn’t have recovery, so what more could it ask for than an oppurtunity to fire an attack scott-free? Bee struggles with Ground and Steel types, but it can U-turn on them to bring Volcanion in. Volc can then fire an attack or Defog. Beedrill can also take advantage of most Dragons in the tier, most notably non-Scarfed Latias and non-Scarfed Hydreigon. Finally, Beedrill can set Toxic Spikes or Knock Off the Leftovers of bulky Waters, such as Suicune & Slowbro, allowing them to be more easily worn down. This core is terrified of Aerodactyl, Manectric and Zera, as well as Choice Scarfers, so something like Gligar fits well with them.

Krookodile @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge

Krookodile is a very formidable partner for Defog Volcanion. Krookodile doesn’t appreciate facing stuff like banded aqua jet crawdaunts, roost sd scizor (which 1v1s it) and things like Altaria which a correctly ev invested set can set up on Krook. These are some of the premier threats in the metagame right now but Defog Volcanion is a great support mon. Krook can struggle to break through some of UU’s most consistent rockers, one being named gligar. Volcanion forces those mons out and is great for chipping. Volcanion can also check non eq altarias.

252+ SpA Volcanion Sludge Wave vs. 72 HP / 0 SpD Altaria-Mega: 218-258 (70.5 - 83.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Meanwhile, Krook can beat mons with take advantage of Volc. Mons like mega aero, mane, mantine, and latias with its respective standard moves, Krook also provides with speed control, because Defog Volcanion is not the fastest mon and would appreciate revenging capabilities.

Since we got a tie, I decided to give my vote to Scizorphobic's submission.
Congratulations Scizorphobic for winning 6th week of UU Matchmaking !
For this 7th week, you'll have to find the best teammate for Swords Dance Mimikyu !

Mimikyu @ Life Orb / Ghostium Z
Ability: Disguise
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Claw
- Shadow Sneak
- Play Rough

Please submit your Pokemon before the deadline which is 07/27/2019 11.59 PM GMT +2.

Bewear @ Normalium Z
Ability: Fluffy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Drain Punch
- Double-Edge
- Earthquake

I actually decided to go with Bewear. This fluffy monster is capable of so much in the tier and it has the amazing ability in fluffy, taking minimal damage from scizors moves. Bewear is also great because it can force the steels out, giving it a chance to setup and break some holes through the team which Mimikyu would appreciate. Bewear also can ice punch those Gligars which Mimikyu also has a hard time breaking through. Mimikyu also hates the Regen Mushroom, Amoonguss. But Bewear has no problems with that.

+2 252 Atk Bewear Double-Edge vs. 252 HP / 176+ Def Amoonguss: 372-438 (86.1 - 101.3%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Araquanid @ Splash Plate
Ability: Water Bubble
EVs: 148 HP / 252 Atk / 108 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sticky Web
- Liquidation
- Leech Life
- Magic Coat

Araquanid can set up Sticky Web for Mimikyu allowing it to run an Adamant nature without fear of being outsped by stuff like Lucario, Nidoking, etc. Araq also provides a switch into Scizor as well as a way to pressure most of the tiers Steel-types which Mimikyu doesn't appreciate. Araq also beats all the Ground-types that Mimikyu can't break in one hit e.g. Rhyperior, Swampert, etc.

Froslass @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Taunt
- Spikes
- Icy Wind
- Destiny Bond

Froslass is an excellent partner with mimikyu as it provides a hazard stack not one but two spinblockers. Spikes in general help Mimikyu get by with its depressing attack stat and get chip on the bulky Steel-types.

Scizor @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Quick Attack
- Swords Dance

These two mons fit right at home on spikestacking HOs, particularly with Froslass who is mentioned above. In general its best to have the Z on Mimikyu here and +2 Superpower eats away at any Steel not named Doublade and Never-Ending Nightmare will often put these Steels completely out of comission. Anyway the basic idea behind this core is that Mimikyu is incredibly effective once some mons are annoyed, and SD Superpower Scizor happens to have many shared checks with SD Mimikyu. The most notable ones are Aerodactyl, Coballion, Amoonguss and the mega Steels. In return, Mimikyu can setup on the walls to this Scizor set such as Slowbro (watch for Scald) and smack them. I chose Quick Attack over Knock/Bug Bite because the triple priority helps in the offense v offense matchup, and the core wouldn’t have a strong matchup versus full stalls anyway. Quick Attack also deals with Mimikyu’s revenge killers that attempt to iill it when the Disguise is down, so that’s nice.

Chandelure @ Leftovers
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Shadow Ball
- Flamethrower

Misread the thread, apologies. Chandelure can threaten the steel types that threaten Mimikyu such as Scizor. Flame Body also acts as a deterrent to physical attacks.

Quagsire @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Recover
- Toxic

With Unaware Quagsire has no need to fear Swords Dance sets, and the combination of Toxic and Recover allows it to beat Mimikyu.
The purpose of UU Matchmaking is to find a teammate for the Pokemon and not a way to beat it.
