Though the title of this Main Match might imply your precious, precious garnets might be stolen, this is not the case. This game was played in Season 4, where several games distributed, in the duration of the game, an absurd number of garnets and the winning and losing positions went to the players who ended the games with the most garnets and the least garnets (no matter how many you came into the round with). We will not be adopting this mechanic. However, we are using one of the games that did, with some adaptations. The name Garnet Thief is a leftover from it.
This game takes place over four rounds each lasting 24 hours. You will choose one of the following roles: Mafia, Cartel, Police, or Beggar in your confessional PM. You may publicly or privately disclose what your role is; you don’t have to tell the truth, obviously. At the end of each round, four points will be distributed to players based on how people chose their roles. You do not have to choose the same role every round.
Here is how distribution of points works:
- Between the two criminal organizations (Mafia or Cartel), the one with more members choosing it will have four points distributed equally between the members, rounded down. If there are remainders after the distribution, all the remainders are equally distributed between the Beggars.
- If Mafia and Cartel have an equal number of members choosing it, the four points are distributed equally among the Police, rounded down. Again, all the remainders are equally distributed between the Beggars.
Between Round 2 and Round 3, you may transfer 1 point publicly to another player. You must post in the main thread for the point transfer to be public, and the other player must accept it. You may only give to another player or accept from another player a total of one point (so if you give one point away, your recipient can’t give a point away; if you accept a point from someone else, you can’t give away your point to to another player).
At the end of each round, the distribution of the points will be announced, with point winners being publicly announced by name.
The player or players who have the largest point total at the end of Round 4 win and obtain a Token of Life. A single winner will be given an additional Token of Life to give away while multiple winners will each be given one for themselves only (as usual). A sole winner will obtain four garnets; multiple winners will obtain two garnets; but for every 2 points, you’ll obtain one more garnet win or lose.
The player with the lowest number of points will be the Elimination Candidate. In the case of a tie between players with the lowest number of points, the winner or winners will select among them who will be the Elimination Candidate. The EC will choose a player lacking a Token of Life to join in the Death Match, and the loser of the Death Match will be seventh player eliminated.
