Couldn't agree more about Lovebite's art altho i think that Darthvader should come secondI disagree completely that the others even compete, although my personal tastes play a part sometimes.
Albel's Entei is so jagged that the viewers' eyes have nowhere to focus on. The Giratina just looks goofy - the spire/arm/wing? things should be spread out, or at least raised above its head like scythes. The Mewtwo is fine, but a metallic Mewtwo look is not exactly new ground.
BynineB's first one is just a fucking mess. It looks like it is so thrown together that it is falling apart. Complexity usually creates worse results than simplicity in aesthetics! The Rhyperior is very cool, and much better than an actual Rhyperior looks; actually it is the only non-Seriin sprite I like aesthetically. The Moltres repose is fine, but not exactly stunning.
Darthvader's Nidoking/Arcanine/anything else? looks disgusting. the hair makes no sense with the way the feet are, too much yellow - maybe if just the feet were yellow or just the hair, it would look a lot less goofy...but probably not. The Electabuzz is boring. The Charizard's head's angle is ridiculous...no creature that big is going to have a neck that bends like that.
Lovebite's first two are honestly hilarious, but they are also kind of ugly, so I have to go with Seriin's since I like beauty more than laughing. The repose is good except for the face, which unfortunately ruins it.
Seriin's Scizor is straight out of anime styled ridiculous shounen, and despite mashing together three pokemon and changing the colors, it looks utterly gorgeous and simple and clean. The Snorlax manages to look like a cute abominable snowman/my neighbor totoro type creature, and the color scheme is not as good as Scizor's, but still meaningful, and of course he had to mix together the fur with Snorlax, so it is not something lazy like Darthvader's Electabuzz. The repose is not doing anything special, but also is not a fuckup.I like Lovebite's art. They make me laugh, and I think they look very creative.Kirby, that was more of a distasteful rant than "critique". It honestly sounded more like a fanboy post than a respectable opinion. I think all of them did a great job, and honestly it's a hard week to pick between. There is no reason to put others down to make your opinion the only one. Disrespectful, just totally disrespectful. Seriously? Using words like disgusting or ridiculous?If it were a fanboy rant, then I would say that everything was awful by everybody except for what I liked. There was plenty of okay, good but misguided (like a beautiful Charizard repose that was ruined by its neck), or actually good (Rhyperior). Granted, I forgot to say that Charizard's repose was actually beautiful besides that, but I am not going to double check myself carefully over something like this.
I mean, furthermore, I do not know nor care about any of these people as people. I am a huge fan of certain art (like Pocket Monsters Japanese Blue/Green and United States Red/Blue), but I would never pretend that means a person can do no wrong; that would be immature and silly. I am sure there are weeks that Seriin did not create the best sprites, but in this one that is not the case.
It is only distasteful because you think that work should inherently be totally respected and placed on some pedestal. I do not care how hard someone worked on something if it turns out to be a disaster. The only time I am going to be nice enough to baby someone is if my dick occasionally winds up inside her vagina.
My opinion is not the only one that matters, but stuff like the Giratina repose/Nidoking-Arcanine mix/et cetera all have glaring flaws, and I was annoyed by Seriin unnecessarily playing the humble game. Since he seems to be unable to be arrogant for his own sake, I stepped up to bat. Seriin and Lovebite should be first and second in whichever order the votes turned out (after all, I am not god :)). That is what my unsympathetic "rant" is all about.Albel: First two are amazing. Repose could've been better if you spread the wings a bit.
BynineB: First one looks like its falling apart. Ice Rhyperior is amazing. Repose is ok.
Darthvader317: First two are boring. Charizard pose is very good except the head position. Its kind of annoying.
Lovebite: Love the first two. Hilarious. Repose is great but the face ruined it all.
Seriin: The fusion is ok but I fell in love with the laxes. They are so fucking cute. T_T
So: I liked Albel's, Lovebite's and Seriin's.
Lovebite's are hilarious but you look at the other two guys and they would stand out more.
Now you have Albel and Seriin. Hard choice for me.
In the end I chose Albel mainly because the fusion was better but honestly, I could've voted for Seriin and it wouldn't have mattered. They both did a good job....Why the fuck did everyone love my recoloured/reshaded Rhyperior and hate my beloved Steelixtoise...

Btw I am glad Darth Vader is winning, because that Nidoking/Arcanine is one of the best splices I've ever seen.
I don't want everything to be placed on a pedestal, I simply have manners. Either way you were disrespectful. None of those sprites are disgusting, a fucking mess, or any form of repulsive you want them to be.
And honestly if Seriin wanted to be an arrogant asshat he could easily speak out for himself, but it's pretty useless to. This is a friendly contest.
Like I said, your first one looks like it is falling apart. That is fine when it is like RB Weezing, clean, simple, and all the parts well defined and separated and in proper perspective, but yours is messy and nothing makes sense.
The Rhyperior is perfectly colored and makes Rhyperior look like a really attractive monster, which is a pretty accomplishment in itself. The snow is a nice touch too (although better would maybe be like wisps of cold semi-frozen air coming off of it or around it).Despite all this argument, remember we're all spriters. Most of the people voting on these polls probably aren't. So they don't care about awkward head angles or other minor details.
I like them all, the only one I wouldn't vote for is actually Seriin's based purely on the outlining errors in his repose. But again, the public probably wouldn't even notice let alone care.

Now, I am not quite sure you get me. Not only do I not "care" about being a judge (sure, I would do it, but not because I care about the hard work anyone is putting in, I just like sprites), but I am about as likely to admit a mistake without being caught redhanded or trying to be cutesy with a girl on the internet because I really like girls. I spoke harshly, but not because I was angry, not to incite anger, and not to rave about anything at all; I did not do my best writing ever (because I do not care about being perfectly helpful to anyone, they know more about spriting than me anyway, I just know about spriting ideas), but that hardly means I was anywhere near incoherent or over the top (how could it be over the top to call something that is disgusting or ridiculous what it is? It is not as if I tried to string together some trite, masturbatory (for my ego) tripe to insult them, I just called what was disgusting or ridiculous what it was; if you do not get why sprites can be disgusting, then I do not know what to tell you).
If you think I am going to apologize and try to play nice just because you mistakenly believe you have the authority to assert anything over me, then you have a deluded view of how this world works. Mean-spirited honesty is more useful than cutesy posturing, so you keep posing, and I will keep being a fucking blunt jerk.
P.S. after my vituperation, Seriin steadily increased in voting %. Either I was right, or I directly influenced the voting...hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
