Media Yu-Gi-Oh discussion

Alright also Burial is very nice to reuse necro +plague. I will do that.

No I dont tihnk rota is better then CoTLB what I got for cards atm.
I disliked CotLB for the fact that I ALWAYS mill the shit I need (i milled 2 POD's and a solemn for instance.)
I just have shitty luck.

ok so since you mill bad maybe you shouldnt play cards like lumina

seriously, the point of the deck is to mill

ok comparing my list to the real list

Fishborg Blaster: this is good, as water synchro was set to be insane with new stuff coming out
Mind Master: was on my list, definitely necessary
Giant Trunade: was on my list, see above
Royal Oppression: ugh this is probably the thing i like the least here. it was always nice to have this for decks that don't special summon, and with storm and mst going up it would have been even weaker...

on my list but not here:
T.G. Hyper Librarian: was limited instead, which is still great, especially with fishborg banned
Future Fusion: limiting dewloren again was probably enough to stop the ftk...
Gateway of the Six: i guess they just wanted to hurt samurai and not kill them completely
Mind Control: i still think this would've been a good ban with xyz becoming more popular
Monster Reborn: coth back to 2, oppression gone, ugh........
Royal Tribute: gks really do nothing in the ocg since they lack recruiter, so i wasn't surprised this wasn't hit at all
Black Luster Soldier: everyone saw this coming. this card was insane when it was legal and will likely be insane again. i really don't want a format dominated by twilight again
Debris Dragon: great hit, this card got even better with xyz
Lonefire Blossom: was on my list
Shi En: on my list
T.G. Hyper Librarian: had it forbidden on my list, but this is still good with fishborg gone
Formula Synchron: on my list
Heavy Storm: on my list, good to replace trunade and stop the "set 5, go" format
Primal Seed: i'm glad they thought of this
Shien's Smoke Signal: on my list
Pot of Avarice: on my list

on my list but not here:
Grapha: i guess the dw structure hasn't been out for that long, but i still think the deck needed to be hit in some way
Rescue Rabbit: guess it hasn't been out long enough for them to realize how good this is...
Treeborn Frog: unnecessary with fishborg banned
MST: still don't know how i feel about this being unlimited
Solemn Warning: probably necessary to keep this at 2 with oppression banned
Ultimate Offering: konami wants to promote xyz
Summoner Monk: more xyz promotion
Tragoedia: yeah no one was really playing this at all
Necro Gardna: all the ls love is kind of annoying...
Dewloren: was on my list
Destiny Draw: on my list
Swords of Revealing Light: this card is not really played at all, and it gets even worse with 3 mst around
Mind Crush: i love this card and i love seeing it back at 2
Call of the Haunted: this is strange but 3 mst and no trunade does make this card a lot harder to abuse

on my list but not here:
Reborn Tengu: obviously this isn't out in the ocg
Judgment Dragon: ugh i hate playing against this card, but it is pretty bad with the prio rule in the ocg and the fact that starlight road will be a useful card once again
Spirit Reaper: probably fine, i haven't seen reaper doing too much lately, though the new zombie xyz decks will be happy to have this
Overload Fusion: was on my list
MST: as i said before, i still don't know how i feel about this
Megamorph: yeah no one plays this card...
Gravity Bind: more promotion for xyz
Icarus Attack: yay

on my list but not here:
Magical Stone Excavation: whatever
Bottomless Trap Hole: ocg priority rule
Magic Cylinder: konami hates burn
Ojama Trio: see above

overall i really like the list, but i just really hope the tcg list hits tengu or tour guide in some way (and with the way tewart has been giving the tcg a lot of differences from the ocg, i wouldn't be surprised)

Unlimited MST and a Heavy Storm? What big thing does Giant Trunade do that isn't eclipsed by the easy removal that the former two can do? Two Typhoon's were bad enough (it always did well for me).

I'm probably the only one who uses Spell Reclamation (I like that card for some reason) as well, so it looks like it'll be easier than ever to clear the feild out.

Looking at the replies here and other places, seems like that would be the least of the problems involving overpowered stuff though.

Aerodacty: It's more of what Trunade DOESN'T do. Trunade doesn't destroy. With only 2 MST, that meant that there was no downside to playing all your S/Ts facedown. Opening play? Set a card, set 4, end turn. One of them's a Solemn and your opponent can't do anything about it. In fact, it encouraged you to set more S/Ts so you can bait out MST into hitting a card you don't need.

When Heavy was unbanned a few formats ago, you always had to be scared of it. Even if you had triple Solemn in hand, you could set one, maybe two at most without overcommitting.

Trunade is too autopilot and OTK-inducing. Storm is more of a control card that will discourage herp derp backrow play. I like it.

EDIT: okay that reference is a little off because there was no solemn warning a few formats ago BUT LET'S PRETEND I WAS REFERRING TO WHEN YOU COULD RUN 3 SOLEMN JUDGMENT IN GBs AND STILL GET AWAY WITH IT

The removed trunade and allowed storm for the fact that thiers cards that stop destruction not so much bounce. Plus 3 mst and a storm im a happy camper.

It's not so much that storm is easier to stop. It's the threat that you have heavy at anytime. No heavy was bad for the metagame; it has nothing to do with starlight road/other anti-destruction.

Thoughs on Tour Guide in Infernity as a quick way to search Necromancer? Seems too situational for me.

So happy they unbanned BLS; it was always one of my favorites. Might get me to be more active again! I recently started getting into this new-fangled yugimons and have been playing a nilla Hero deck with Rescue Rabbit for Xyz summon. Pretty fantastic if I do say so myself.

Are you suggesting I try to summon Dandy with Tour Guide? Or that I run Dandy in Infernity?

BiGGiE: apparently masked heroes are really good. idk, i haven't seen them in action yet.

Yeah they're pretty good. I've been running Mask Change to go with Ice Edge and Burstinatrix and they're both awesome and easy to get to the field. I've gone Mask Change to Miracle Fusion to Parallel World Fusion in one turn and to go from 1 800 ATK monster to 3 2400+ monsters is lol.

As in don't run any? One of them + Raven makes any level 8 and that's hot.

tbh I'm probably gonna cut the Rykos and Zephyros and maybe one Goldd.

i've used the deck for about 2 months now and i cant fucking stand goldd or sillva. along with grapha it encourages really bad hands of like 5 dark worlds + useless spell/trap. you'll just lose before you can discard anything. if you want to special summon multiple grapha's run beige. you can normal summon him for grapha and SS him for a second. plus having a 1900 beater is infinitely better than a lv 6 that needs to be discarded to be of any use.

Note: Parallel World Fusion has that "fuck you no more special summoning" thing, so you can't activate it and Miracle Fusion/Mask Change in the same turn.

Also, Mask Change would be so much better if there were more Masked Heros.

It'd be great if masked hero acid or masked hero daian came out.

The gold a silva should be replaced with beige (doesnt clog your hand.) Like maybe a Gold would work at 1 but e no longer cuts it.

I've been testing Beiige at one and Goldd/Silva together at 3 and it's been working well.

I've also cut Valkyrus from the extra after being informed that the discard is a cost and as we all should know, Dark World monsters don't get their effects when discarded as a cost.

updated my falcon deck for the new list and tested with some guys last night (other nats toppers so not slouches)

6-4 in matches vs zombie builds (one had plant engine, one didnt)

6-3 in matches vs twilight (good twilight, like with tour guide)

this was all without siding though so its not totally conclusive but it's still good to know my deck can get above 50% with presumed top tier decks.

im maining double slr, one kycoo, and one neo spacian dark panther. kycoo was really terrible vs zombie unfortunately, so i might relegate it to side, but panther was pretty fantastic against both matchups. i think its gonna be a sleeper hit this format, so many fantastic cards to hit with it. best example, he has reaper, 1 backrow, 1 card in hand. i summon panther, he judgments, i limit reverse panther, target reaper destroying it, swing and discard the card in his hand.

panthered bls a couple times too which felt good. anyway twilight is probably worse than zombie but its still an ok deck. i imagine that everyone who played samurai will now play twilight.

all in all format is interesting, having 2 coth on board looks really weird though lol. storm changes the game much more than i remember. its gonna be expensive competitively though considering tour guide is up to 130 and there is no reason not to run 3 in basically every single deck
