I am not a master when it comes to lightsworn but that list looks far from optimal

also bigzac, use all your extra deck slots. There is no reason not to. throw in 3 fortress dragons and probably fill in the remaing slots with gachi gachi and some other random cards.

I love Malefics.

Here's mine on DuelingNetwork:

Decklist

Monsters: 16
3x Beastking Barbaros
3x Malefic Cyber End Dragon
2x Malefic Parallel Gear
Malefic Rainbow Dragon
3x Malefic Stardust Dragon
Malefic Truth Dragon
2x Meklord Emperor Wisel
Rainbow Dragon

Spells: 12
Dark Hole
2x Forbidden Chalice
3x Future Visions
3x Malefic World
Monster Reborn
2x Mystical Space Typhoon

Traps: 12
Dark Bribe
Deck Devastation Virus
2x Dimensional Prison
Eradicator Epidemic Virus
Mirror Force
2x Proof of Powerlessness
3x Skill Drain
Starlight Road

Extra Deck: 9

3x Cyber End Dragon

Torrential Tribute or Solemn Judgment? Maybe slot them in over Proof of Powerlessness?

Whats wrong with the deck? Do you have any suggestions? :toast:

i assume dead hands come fairly often with 3 each of wulf and celestia, especially without tragoedia to alleviate the issue.

I like 3 Wulf, since I wouldn't run a Lightsworn deck without 3. The point of the deck is milling, and I would like to reap the full benefits and explosive power which comes from it. Not running 3 Wulf almost defeats the purpose of Lightsworn in my opinion. No matter what you do, Lightsworn isn't going to be the most consistent deck, so I would rather maximize my ability to explode, which is Lightsworn's strength.

Celestia is one of the best cards of the deck, and it is a level 6 for Plaguespreader and Glow Up Bulb. It is also better with two Necro Gardna.

Tragoedia? That is a pretty good suggestion. I am not sure where I can fit it though.

DT13 is just what the doctor ordered. Gave Gem-Knights the generic fusion they needed (now those turtles and Armadillos don't gave to be dead once they use their effects).

For those who haven't explored the OCG realm, Gem-Knights are essentially Rock type Elemental Heroes (minus the billion useless support cards). They play mostly fusion based like Heroes as well.

The deck itself plays similiar to a Light Hero Beat, summoning the Geminis and gaining pluses off Spark. Armadillo is essentially the Stratos of the deck, searching out any of the Gem-Knight Monsters, and can be used for Zirconia. Gem-Merchant is the Kalut of the deck, giving a 1000 Atk/Def Boost to all the normal Earths (so basically the Gem-Knights pre-Gemini Summon).

Supervise allows Sanyx and Amber to use their effects immediately, and if it hits the grave while face up, you can special summon any normal gemini from the grave.

As far as techs go, The Rock Spirit is there since it can sp. summon itself easily (everything is a blooming Earth) and can run over Rai-oh (who really damages this deck). Gemini Scorpion allows for easy swarming with the Gemini Knights for Spark/Xyz plays. I threw in a couple Phoenix Wings to set the opponent back a turn, while sending Obsidian to the grave for its effect (which can NOT miss the timing).

The deck's been a lot of fun so far.

i run all those, except with lightsworns i go for judgment dragon and bls who are a fuckton easier to get than tiras and also a fuckton better

It's really not that much of a fuckton to get out. With Bulb and Plague, you can give yourself a free wulf Summon and with Catastor + Librarian you can get a free draw before going for Tiras. Don't assume that I've built my deck around it. I get it when I can and it works. Tiras has helped me get game so many times! It has tremendous synergy with the whole deck--it's Honestable, it survives JD's effect--it even works in Kristyasworn (not that anybody runs that). As you essentially have a timer of two turns with its effects, it totally fits the explosiveness of the whole deck. Catastor + Tiras also make better removal targets for BLS than a Necro or a Lightsworn. Compared to a lot of the other decks this format, Lightsworn can be a little more liberal with its extra deck. I'm not saying it's the win condition--it's an option that works very well for me. What's your build? Also, has anybody considered running dualities in Lightsworn?

How is Orange Light AND Veiler working? Also, why Solemn Judgment? I like the build a lot, though I'd probably run another Hyperion and another Warwolf, though IDK what I'd drop.

Solemn Judgment is used because it is one of the best cards in the game. With the explosive potential the deck has, shutting down potential answers is gold.

It can also play like a pseudo Solemn Warning. Double Orange Light and Veiler is playable, but I usually run 3 Orange Light. I usually run 3 Hyperion too, but thats just me. Pot of Duality is also proven to work, but I don't like it. I don't like how it clashes with Wulf.

@Rey, that is what Cipher does too, but Tiras is just a splashable option in the extra deck. I am sure she knows that BLS and Judgment Dragon is the deck's priority, but using an extra deck slot for Tiras doesn't stop you from playing Lightsworn the way it is supposed to be ran.

Gem Knights are also pretty interesting, and I am not really enjoying Glow Up Bulb in my Lightsworn deck. I feel it is the weak link.

I was actually going to get rid of the Necros because with Lumina at 3, they're a lot less useful in the Hand. Bulb + Plague + Wulf into celestia or something is just too much fun!

I guess im the only one that runs Destiny-Sworn. It has amazing draw power, and is probably my most successful deck. Imma provide my deck list when I'm done with certain problems like having only 5 different LS monsters in my deck, makimg it hard for me to get J.D out, but my deck makes up for it in:
allure-draw2
followed by d-draw or solar recharge.
Basically by the time I'm done I'll have envoy, and chaos swarming the field easily.

Also I've been running a pretty gimmicky begon knave tengu combo. Its not doing as great, but its certainly fun to use.

Who would have thought that a Yu-Gi-Oh thread in firebot would have been able to last so long? ^___^

You can steal one off Shriek.

I personally like Skill Drain Tech Genus the most out of all those decks though. Quickdraw also got nerfed with Avarice at one.

If you want to run Lightsworn, feel free to netdeck this.

i'm really not digging some of those choices. 3 beckoning for instance is overkill for me. mirror force/torrential also isn't that optimal as one of the strengths of the deck is the ability to make MST/heavy storm dead, not to mention you already have necro gardna for defense. speaking of darks though why are you not running 2 trag and dark armed dragon? finally in a twilight build or pure LS for that matter i would only use 2 wulf (and 2 celestia). they can really promote some bad hands.

I like the creativity, but is it really worth it? I am not sure on how consistent it would be.

I thought it would have. We have a pretty solid player base here on Smogon.

Currently im running Blackwing and soo far been doing pretty good with them.
Blackwing are pretty good. They also can run 3 Icarus now, which is a solid boost.

Fair enough. Do you have a fix in mind?

Soul Absorbtion + Macro Cosmos is godawful to play against.
I played against it today, I didn't keep the tally but I'm sure I must have dealt over 30,000 life points from him before I finally won.

Looking forward to this new Inzector archetype. Just hoping it doesn't go the way of Spiders.

It seems interesting. I am always interested in new archtypes, since they help keep the game fun.

I don't like Soul Absorbtion. I don't think it is all that great. Just because you gain life points, doesn't mean you win the game. Life points just don't matter until they hit 0.

Soul Absorbtion offers no real advantage. It doesn't destroy cards. It doesn't gain cards. If someone started the game with 30,000 life points with only two cards, but another person started the game off with 6 cards and only 8000, I would easily say the person with 6 cards in their hand would win the game.
