Where might these be? I'm still quite versed on how to play the game and I'm not particularly keen on starting with structure decks and boosters to get myself a good deck. The only thing I'd really need to know is what new cards/deck strategies have come out since I quit and possibly what are the best cards to have now.

Certain places have the cards. I've never been a big fan of buying individual cards. I aim for trades.
 
I think I might have misinterpreted your wording Thunderpup. I was under the assumption that you could buy completed competetive decks. Were you saying that you could do that, or were you saying there are sites where you can order individual cards in order to construct a deck?

Revolves around getting Sky Scourge to the grave, using Phantom of Chaos's effect to turn into sky scourge and nuke everything, and getting Nephyst in the grave so it can come back the turn you blow everything up. Limit Reverse can be chained during Sky Scourge's effect, it can end up you: 3 cards, opp: 0 cards.
 
not bad Slice.. I was tinkering with Norleras before but couldn't get a consistent build. I suggest maybe teching a Valley or Feather of the Phoenix to give you a good draw when you decide to blow up. Deck might have too many Foolish like cards though. I suggest going 2 Armaknights 1 Grepher.. I dont think the others are needed for this deck. This way you can add maybe a couple of Feathers.

also did you see the ruling where they nuked Zombie Master? That really pissed me off. You cant use Zombie Masters effect if there is no level 4 Zombies in the grave, even if the monster you discarded was a level 4 zombie. :[
 
They seriously did that to ZM? Ugh, well I guess I won't be making Zombies in the near future(sigh).

Well I sort of need to keep Grepher at 3, the deck needs to thin out asap to minimize dead draws off Norleras. I need to keep at least 1 Foolish, so I guess DMOC can replace 1. Scapegoat is too slow in here, despite the wonders it works with Plasma.

Feather seems like it may have potential later on in this deckbuilding process.
 
well the Zombie Master ruling isnt too bad but it makes those godly 3 Zombie Master hands with CoSR pure crap. The only reason it isnt too bad is because Goblin Zombie and Pyramid Turtle can still fetch you a Zombie Master and usually you would just them to revive once you get the effect.
 
Well, to be fair, this is coming out in the near future for the OCG.

Zombie World / Field Spell

All monsters on the field and in the Graveyard are treated as Zombie-Type monsters. No monsters can be Tribute Summoned, except Zombie-Type monsters.

I mean, when you can start reviving opponents' Disk Commanders (I assume you get to draw), this thing pretty much balances out the new ruling.
 
yeah that will be a nice addition to Zombies for sure. Especially for Zombie Master and Il Blud.

oh and supposivly there is a new Synchro Monster that is a Zombie any has an Il Blud effect. As well as more Zombie support in the Crossroads of Chaos.

But doesn't look all that better than Il Blud, really. A little stronger maybe, but lacks the bigger effect Il Blud has.

I'm personally more interested in the flood of Plants.
 
Plants are good.. they are better than Zombies at times. I dont really like the OTK version ppl post but with just pure beat down they kick ass. I suggest maining a Hero's Rule 2 and siding more though because once D.D. Crow hits the field they have a harder time recovering than Zombies do from what I experienced. Right now Im looking for 2 Butterflies and 1 more Gigaplant to make the deck.

and the cool thing is that they can main deck SIM without any hiccups other than maybe detouring Sangan and the use of Snipe.
 
Well, as you all know, Kreis(Kuraz) the Light Monarch is being released in the TCG with the Light of Destruction special edition box. The amazing flexability and draw power it has provides more support for combo decks like explosion(ugh) and even aggro decks like Samurai that abuse Reasoning. Its a good thing they haven't released arms hole yet; Magical Explosion decks would be broken beyond belief. Don't believe me? Look here, you will be left speechless. This video was obviously taken before Dimension Fusion was banned, but nevertheless combo decks in japan are that explosive.
 
I haven't played Yugioh in like 3 years maybe. It gives me memories of ripping people off for my favourite cards (Yata-Garasu for skillful dice or whatever it's called, common MST and Pyramid of Light for Mirror Force, the Kaiba starter deck BEWD for Raigeki and Penguin Soldier).

This thread is kind of making me want to play again. ^ did the guy in the video even get his turn? xP
 
No, but thankfully there is a very slim chance of arms hole coming out here. Explosion decks work at times, but they are inconsistent and can be stopped. That is the only remaining First turn kill deck available.

Some successful, inexpensive decks are Samurai, Batterymen, and Big City.

If I end up getting back into the game, I might try making a Zombie deck. I dunno, Il Blud is just so awesome to me. I don't understand what it means by "While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to be treated as an Effect monster with this effect"

Can you explain that to me?
 
Il Blud is a Gemini Monster. All Gemini Monsters are treated as Normal Monsters while on the field or Graveyard. You can resummon Il Blud, basically renormal summon it while its on the field, to gain its effect. Thats the gist of it and all Gemini monsters have those characteristics.

other cards I suggest is getting Goblin Zombie for the deck, it really helps getting Zombie Master to your hand.
 
Basically, you can spend your normal summon on a Gemini monster (i.e. Il Blud) to have it gain its effect. However, it still counts as a normal summon, so cards like Torrential Tribute can be activated at that time.

That was scary. Although what I don't get is what that card was he kept reviving with premature and then sending back to the graveyard. Could someone fill me in on that?

The best way to interpret the effect is thinking of it as simply resummoning it.

Also, despite Zombie's potential, aside from the new Zombie Master ruling, D.D. Crow still has no trouble throwing holes in massive Card of Safe Return draws and obviously Zombie Master/Il Blud's effect. Crow is the main reason I don't use Zombies this format. If you want to play Zombies competitively, side into 2/3 Divine Wraths/ 2 Vandalgyon, possibly with Bribes. Main the Solemns so Vortex doesn't brutally murder you.


That was Kuraz the Light Monarch, which is released a month from now in the LODT special edition.
 
Does that mean it just takes up my normal summon, or do I have to tribute again? Also, if you know it off the top of your head, what's the price range for Zombie Masters, Goblin Zombies, Il Bluds, and DMoC?
