Yugioh! TCG Thread

XC, I suggest using Skill Drain Macro. Survivor, Exiled, and Scout Plane resolve outside of the field. You can splash 2 or 3 Fulisier Dragon, the Dual mode beast with Skills Drains. Stratos can be helpful for aggro and search Alius/ Wildheart. Run 3 Burden of the Mighty to beat heavy hitting decks like Dark Return, DDT, etc...and most importantly stop Jinzo.

An OCG version dominated Frontier Cup with Beast King barbaros(x_x) and Raiou(0_0 x_x). Let's just say...Raiou is a DCK that stops your opponent from drawing outside the draw phase(the more experienced people know how ridiculous that is in this format). Beast King was broken under Skill Drain...you guys can wikia it if you want.

Raiou comes out in the TCG in november.

I'm glad for more thunder support. Plus you're wrong, raiou says "cards cannot be added to the hand except by drawing them from the deck" which means it beats stratos, dmoc, reinforcement, monster reincarnation, and stuff like that.

It's second effect is what carries it into awesomeness. You can tribute it to negate the special summon of a monster and destroy the monster. Hell yes, stops the most devastating monsters this gen. A much needed card.

fuck yes..

considering the only deck I lost to really (other than Sack Samurai) while playing with GB was the DMoC OTK with Spell Economics this is a great news for me. Plus when I was at OC I swear to god that I got OTKed by Dimension Fusion too many times..

looks like those DDR and Escape From the D.D. are looking hotter.. which I dont find really because its slower but still can pack a punch.

only huge swing I can see now with Dark Deck is multiple DADs in hand or DMoC getting back Reborn/DDR.

YES! Goodbye RFG brokenness. I don't think the RFG pile was ever meant to be manipulated as much as it has been. I mean.. it's called RFG for a reason...

Hm... this makes dimension prison even better now, since the opponent can't even bring back their monsters at the drop of a hat anymore with a Dimension Fusion. The only reason someone would run sakuretsu armor now is if they wanted to try to monster reborn something they destroyed with sakuretsu's effect.

I'm glad the only thing my deck lost in this was a single copy of allure. It shouldn't be too hard to find a suitable replacement. I was gonna switch to a hand control deck soon, though, anyway, which should be even more effective now without all the rampant RFG based OTKs.

nothing should change much until LODT but expect people going to the original DAD builds and Gladiator Beast should see a good amount of play because it just won a SJC. The side deck will definitly change. Without worrying about FTKs Dust Tornado and Exiled will probably be teched to stop Shadow Mirrors and Heraklinos.

Lol Yu-Gi-Oh. I remember when I used to be awesome at this, but then someone stole most of my good cards :(

I've somewhat started playing again, but only casually, as I don't want to spend tons of money on it. I just play with my brothers and a few friends - I'm not into competitive play.

I'm currently using a Dark deck, partly centered around Dark Oh, and I usually play in Unlimited format, 'cause I'm cheap :P

Current (rather rubbish, but again, I'm not planning to spend a lot of money on it) deck list:
Monsters:
Invader of Darkness
Dark Magician x2
Sillva, Warlord of Dark World
White-Horned Dragon
Skilled Dark Magician x2
Brron, Mad King of Dark World
Double Coston
Breaker the Magical Warrior x2
Dark Crusader x2
Pitch-Black Warwolf
Armageddon Knight
Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude x2
Cyber Jar

Spells
Monster Reborn x3
Raigeki
Harpie's Feather Duster
Dark Magic Attack x2
Magical Dimension x2
Dark Magic Curtain
Diffusion Wave-Motion
Heavy Storm
Swords of Revealing Light
Mystic Plasma Zone x2
Mage Power
Lightning Vortex
Megamorph x2
Pot of Greed

Traps
Magic Cylinder

I know this probably seems like a noob deck to most of you, but keep in mind that no one I know uses a deck which is a lot stronger than this. The strongest deck I usually face is either my brother's Warrior Equip-card based deck (I have Really Eternal Rest and Ryu Kokki in my spares to deal with it), or my other brother's Rock Flip Summon deck, where he uses Ordeal of the Traveller and Wall of Revealing Light to stop me from attacking, then uses cards like Guardian Sphinx and Medusa Worm to get rid of my monsters, and finally uses Megarock Dragon or Shield and Sword with Exxod - Master of the Guard or Lost Guardian to win.

Any tips on which cheap cards I should get, or what I should take out to counter those decks in particular? I could list some of my spares, if needed.

Goodbye (BAN ME PLEASE) ass Dimension Fusion we *won't* miss you!
Don't get your hopes up Return, and shut your mouth Allure.

Ok, anyway, through all of my excitement from this mid format change, I built this Macro Plasma deck to rape Lightsworn, Gbeasts, Samurai, Gadgets, and of course, Dark Armed Dragon(which is essentially half-assed now). Warthog, I posted this on dgz but it was yesturday so you probably missed it. The thing is, with Dimension Fusion gone, Macro is finally playable again, let alone how broken Plasma will be.

NOT Vanity's fiend weak either, lol.

Monsters: 17
3 D.D. Survivor
3 Cyber Valley
2 D.D. Scout Plane
2 Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord
2 Destiny Hero Plasma
2 Blue Thunder T-45
2 Exiled Force
1 Elemental Hero Stratos

Spells: 13
3 Dimensional Fissure
2 Allure of Darkness
2 Reinforcement of the Army
2 Enemy Controller
2 Fires of Doomsday
1 Scapegoat
1 Machine Duplication

Traps: 10

3 Solemn Judgement
2 Dark Bribe
1 Crush Card Virus
1 Trap Dustshoot
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Mirror Force
1 Macro Cosmos

Wait, Slice you have card crush virus? This is theoretical right?

And this is my newbieness talking, but shouldn't "macro plasma" have more than one macro cosmos in it? (i dunno, I like it better than dimension fissure)

No, I don't, at regionals I will probably borrow it from a friend that does. And the 2nd Cosmos is highly debateable. Fissure is much better because you don't have to wait a turn, by the way.

Macro is waaaay better, it makes sure that DMoC doesnt plus when it is summoned by card effect. Im not too sure on the deck Slice, Ill have to toy with it because I haven't messed with since last format. btw lol at the avatar.. I hate looking at that damn baby.

wish I had a CCV.. I dont think I'll shell the $300 ever.. that would just KILL me inside. The only way I would get it is if it was for a regional or SJC then sell it afterwards.

Well we have a damn good chance at topping with Dimension Fusion gone :)

This new format will seperate the scrubs from the skilled players. We will now see the half assed Dark Return players that thought they could make every regional an easy win and not give a shit about the whereabouts of the game. If this format wasn't nerfed in time...the game would have taken a drastic turn. The March 1st format nearly killed the game.

14 DaD in the top 16 = gg.

Also two monarch decks to spice things up aka Gladiators and Samurai are not coming back?

If one were to get back into this game, starting from the ground up (meaning one has no cards at the moment), what would be the best way to start? And where would be the best place to get information on what the metagame is like?

Dark, I think he meant the sudden ban list. They actually went out of their way to ban cards BEFORE they do ban lists, so that's obvious that they were trying to fix things. DAD is still kicking, it got it, but it's still alive, and we all know that.

But without DF and RftDD, allure's removing effect isn't as ridiculous, and lots of other aspects of the deck got a little bit weaker.

Nopie -

If money isn't a problem, there are places you can buy full decks. These get to be 100's of dollars. If money is important but you have some, I suggest trying to buy a structure deck that you like and starting from there.

The metagame will kick the crap out of any structure deck, but it's a good place to start. Learn about card rarities, try to find out the chances that you will get certain cards from certain packs to get nice individual cards. Look at places like www.metagame.com and www.yugioh.tcgplayer.com to find neat deck ideas. I think tcgplayer has a current article on how to make a deck without spending tons of money.

ALSO when light of destruction comes out, you can grab some of the new batteryman cards. It's a devastating deck theme that has only two theme cards over common. You'd need to get the older batterymen too.

Sorry if I was a little bit all over the place here. I just woke up.

Where do you guys get your cards? Like what sites do you go to or am I missing some other method?

What I really came on to ask what this:

I want to make a tourney viable deck and have decided on running Gadgets. I was finding them to be fairly economical. Also the only structure deck that was available to me was Machine Revolt so yep.

I'm starring* the cards I don't own and I was hoping you guys could help me fill in spots to keep the net cost sub-$40

Monsters: (19)
2x A set of Gadgets (I need a second)*
2x Cyber Dragon (Need a second)*
2x Banisher of the Radiance
3x Drillroid *
3x Blue Thunder T-45 *
1x Neo Spacian Grand Mole *
1x Spirit Reaper
1x Exiled Force
1x D.D. Warrior Lady
1x Snipe Hunter

Magic Cards: (15)
3x Shrink *
3x Enemy Controller
2x Lightning Vortex (need a second)*
1x Fissure
1x Hammer Shot
1x Smashing Ground *
1x Heavy Storm
1x Mystical Space Typhoon
1x Nobleman of Crossout
1x Limiter Removal

Trap Cards: (9)

3x Royal Oppression (where can I get these cheap?)*
2x Bottomless Trap Hole
2x Sakuretsu Armor
1x Mirror Force
1x Torrential Tribute

Total: 45 (a bit big, but with Gadgets I might be ok...?)

Things of note:
No Counter Traps
Too many cards? (42 would be a fine compromise, -1 drillroid, -1 Exiled Force, -1 Sakuretsu Armor?)
What isn't necessary vs. What is

So what I'm looking for is a rate and fix keeping budget in mind. If you think I can do it for the max price or if you have ideas on how to tweak it tell me please!

Thanks

EDIT: Forgot Torrential Tribute

Drillroids and Smashings are available from the Syrus structure deck, if you're willing to buy several or trade for the Drillroids. Get Gadgets from the Machine Structure Deck.
Most of the cards you are missing aren't too high in rarity but are driven up in price by the metagame. You can try going online for singles for the rest, as stuff like Oppression is from an out of print set unless you can get the rerelease sets.
