VGC 2011 rules up!

Yeah, I think everyone should at least give it a shot. I'm actually enjoying this alot more than I enjoyed 2009 and 2010.
 
This sounds interesting, although the possibilities are greatly limited now I'd say. I hope Shoddy/pokelab gets Gen 5 soon!

I think the big contender, i.e. ME, is using BOTH Trick Room and Tailwind at the same time! Sometimes even on the same turn! :pimp:

I agree with you other than Sandstorm, I think that Goodstuff would be better than that, it is the most used team and most of the pokemon used in Sandstorm can easily be used as Goodstuff types of teams.

If you couldn't tell I am Human from Pokemon Online.
 
othre strategies include double attacks (Heat Wave, Water Spout, etc.), Sunny day (ulgamoth and shanderaa are good actually), rain dance (yeah it seems really shitty but Water Spout burungeru, SD nattorei, and tornelos/voltolos are p. cool). Hail and SS suck though (1 and 2 sweepers respectively and no way to conveniently set it up).

uhhh... there are goodstuffs teams too though
 
Yeah Huy. I don't think that it is necessarily a better metagame than 2009 or 2010 because this judgment will only be due to the end of next season but it's different for fuck's sake and that's why it's so much fun.

I'm still amazed about it though, despite the fact I can see the centralisation coming from miles away, as does everybody with their brains in the right place...
 
My Sun/Sandstorm/Trick Room team is looking like a quite good option. Unfortunately, it's built presuming Team Preview and bring 6, pick 4, so I can't use it on PO.

According to the official Pokemon Website, the VGC qualifiers will only be held in the US and Europe. I'm scared this means that Australia will be rejected AGAIN!!! :chaos:

I will look into this as soon as I'm allowed.

I have a petition relating to this, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to advertise it in my sig.
 
Woah, just checked after No. 1 Machop Fan and it says North America and Europe. Canada has hope? Maybe even Mexico?

That's really good to see. Last year it was really well planned out. And I love Convention Center. Hopefully, the traffic won't be such a pain again.

OH MY FUCKING GOD YES

I am going to be on vacation on the weekend that it was held last year, so I was worried that I wouldn't be able to make it to Nationals this year. This is so awesome, and it's even in the same place too =DDDDDDDD
 
Oh hell yeah! Hopefully, I won't miss out on the action this year. I haven't been to Indy in years.

And hopefully the LCQ will be there too.

If I remember correctly, last year the (US) locations for each event were revealed in March, right? So we can assume they'll probably do the same this year?
 
Personally, I am a little mad that the team has to be all Isshu. However, it may also be a blessing.

It gives a great chance to experiment with all the new pokemon and see who the most creative team builder will be. This may actually prove to be more helpful than hurtful.
 
Question about Nationals. Does anything important happen on the first day? I will be finishing up my Grad trip to Disneyland on the 8th, so I'd have to fly home that day and probably fly out to Indianapolis that same night (I live in BC obviously). I'll only be going to Nats if I get an invite. If I don't get an invite then I'm going to Worlds for the last minute rounds.

There seems to be a bit of fine print here... I wonder though since TPCi is particular about their language, but it would seem that player participation in US Nationals is limited to just... US citizens. Considering the 'North America' language that Firestorm posted perhaps we will see an event or two in Canada. (I'll just guess Vancouver BC right now because it's so close to TPCi HQ in WA.)

...but that other bit about 'players in good standing' is interesting as well. Someone can smack me with the idiot stick, but I don't recall seeing that in such previous announcements.

That just means Players who have been DQ'd in the past may not be able to enter, at TPCI's discretion.
