(Archive) Small Objective Changes Thread

Paragraph III of Arcanine's "Howl" moveset states:

"Since Arcanine has no recovery outside of Leftovers..."

This is no longer true since the release of HG/SS. I put this into the "objective" changes thread because it is a simple matter of fact that Morning sun exists, however, the best fix is still a subjective decision.

Needs double ) marks.
EDIT: Also under "Entry Hazards in Other Tiers"
Stealth Rock can be used very effectively. In particular, Scyther, Swellow, Moltres, Lapras, and the incredibly dangerous Yanmega are all severely hindered by the presence of Stealth Rock.

Yanmega was voted BL, so that should be updated.

and, also in "Entry Hazards in Other Tiers"
While there are several Pokemon capable of setting up Spikes such as Cacturne, Cloyster, and Omastar, Roserade stands out as the best user of Spikes in UU because of its healing move Synthesis.
Roserade is OU. It should be updated.

On the Honchkrow analysis, in the optional changes section.

Analysis said:
Honchkrow has quite a wide movepool, and as such, quite a few other moves are viable. Honchkrow can use Psychic on the Nasty Plot set as a means of hitting Machamp and Infernape, but if you’re really looking to smash these Pokemon, you are probably better off just using Brave Bird and making it a mixed attacker. Speaking of a mixed attacker, Honchkrow’s wide movepool means that a mixed attacking set is quite viable. It will often fall short to other mixed attackers like Infernape, however, and as such you are probably better off running one of the sets listed here. Icy Wind is an interesting choice that often comes off as gimmicky, but is actually quite decent; it will lower the Speed of the Pokemon who switches in, which means that Honchkrow will attack first the next turn. This is no joke, as it means that Honchkrow can move before Pokemon like Infernape who switch in on an Icy Wind and attack them with a STAB Brave Bird. Another interesting thing that Honchkrow can do is Perish Trapping; it is one of the few Pokemon to have acces to both Perish Song and Mean Look as well as a reliable recovery move. When attempting to Perish Trap, Honchkrow’s frailness will often let it down, but with proper team support it can be an interesting and effective surprise for your opponent. Taunt can be used, but Honchkrow struggles to find a proper opportunity to use it.

The Lead Pokémon

Choice Scarf Darkrai is also a fantastic choice because of its massive speed stat
The 's' in speed should be capitalized.

-Different Playing Styles

Any and every Uber Pokémon has to potential to be a threatening sweeper
'to' needs to be replaced with 'the'

As such, offense is by and far the most common for of team
'of' needs to be replaced with 'a'

An offensive team that is build and played correctly can win quickly and therefore very often
'build' needs to be replaced with 'built'

-Ubers Team Checklist

Even if an Ubers team do not have some or these
'or' needs to be replaced with 'of'

-Sample Team

The next best part of this set [is] that as a Blissey switches into your Spacial Rend
There needs to be an 'is' in between "set" and "that" (Shown in the quote with brackets)

http://www.smogon.com/dp/articles/trick_room_guide

Trick Room Abusers:

so you must rely on Pokémon such as Octillery and Tyranitar [to] act as wall breakers
Need to include a 'to' in between 'Tyranitar' and 'act' (Included it within brackets in the quote)

Trick Room in Ubers

Deoxys-D, Bronzong, Jirachi, Dialga and Cresselia are the best choices to use for when it comes to Trick Room teams.
For serial lists there needs to be a comma before the 'and' infront of Cresselia. 'Deoxys-D, Bronzong, Jirachi, Dialga, and Cresselia'

Giritina-O, Palkia, Rayquaza, Kyogre, Groudon, and Dialga are perfect when it comes to either using mixed sets or just plowing through Pokémon with their powerful attacks.
Giratina-O is mispelled. It is in the same paragraph as the previous error.

Kyogre can no abuse its Choice Specs set better
'no'needs to be replaced with 'now'

Trick Room Checklist

You use a Pokémon which can only use physical attacks and then you are walled my Skarmory or Hippowdon
'my' needs to be replaced with 'by'

If you cannot defend yourself from these threats without Trick Room being in effective, then you need to change your team a bit.
'effective' needs to be changed to 'effect'

Sweepers:

Mahcamp can come into any status move and then hit back with boosted attacks.
Machamp is mispelled.

With a fantastic attack stat Hariyama fits in perfectly with a Trick Room team.
The 'a' in attack needs to be capitalized
------------------------

http://www.smogon.com/dp/articles/sunny_day_guide

Also thanks to Sunny Day, Fire-type Pokémon's STAB attacks are increased by50% because of the sun.
There needs to be a space in between 'by' and '50%'

Sunny Day Team Checklist
If,for an odd reason, you want to run a Sunny Day team without a Grass-type, though, this will be a little more difficult.
The space needs to be removed after if and a space needs to be added after the comma before 'for'

The ", though" is unnecessary.

Ubers

With Groudon, you no longer require a Pokémon you your team to use Sunny Day
replace the second 'you' with 'in'

Sunny Day Leads: UU

Persian – Persian is a Pokémon that can run somewhat like the Infernape of UU. With Fake Out and a wide variety of moves, which includes Hypnosis, Persian will not find it difficult to be able to set up Sunny Day.
Persian is missing it's own category in the UU list for the Sunny Day leads. Currently it is in the same paragraph as Jumpluff's information.

but it can also potentially sweep as well thanks to sun boosted Fire-type STABS.
In the Moltres section of the UU Leads the 's' after STAB is capitalized.

I would Like to give Milotic a new Move set and a New Strategy

I'll call this set: Tragic Scale
Held Item: Burn Orb
Nature: Bold
Moveset: Surf, Ice Beam, Hypnosis, Recover
EVs: 252 HP, 120 Def, 128 SpD, 8 Spe

http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/claydol
Utility set.
Immunity to Spikes and Toxic Spikes and resistance to Stealth Rock all help to make Claydol one of the best, if not, the best spinner in UU. Rapid Spin is of course a necessity on the set to spin away those entry hazards, and while you're doing that, why not set up your own with Stealth Rock? Earth Power is a reliable STAB move and is Claydol’s primary way of dealing damage. Shadow Ball is the preferred option in the final slot as it allows Claydol to hit Ghosts that may be switching in to block Rapid Spin for super effective damage. Psychic, along with its unique typing, helps Claydol in countering Fighting and Poison-types, allow it to wall quite easily, while Toxic helps it to take down walls and other bulky Pokémon who make common switch-ins.
"Immunity to Spikes and Toxic Spikes and resistance to Stealth Rock all help to make Claydol one of the best, if not, the best spinner in UU."

The comma after "not" probably shouldn't be there.

EDIT:
For Shedinja in NU it can't learn swords dance and you have that move for its moveset.
Actually, it can. Level up Nincada to 25 when you have an empty space in your party, then let it evolve. Let the resulting Ninjask learn Swords Dance. Shedinja will then be cast off, and have the same moveset as the Ninjask, meaning that it will have the Swords Dance.

i noticed a problems with Totodile's EVs

http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/totodile

all sets are incorrect it seemsand the spreads should be 236 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

it may seem superfluous, but i think it's necessary as the remaining EVs are often used to correct a nearly flawless pokemon.

additionally, the first set won't have max speed with only 232 Spe (and the next lowest speed point is achieved at 172)
