Poke Times is pretty much the other main Japanese twitter account that posts more miscellaneous news and game clips.
So been thinking: The Galarian Birds are sometimes speculated on whether they're different species that were mistaken for the Kanto counterparts, possibly due to their similar aesthetic or metaphorical resemblance (EX: Zapdos is a Thunder mon, G-Zapdos has Thunderous Kick and runs fast enough to cause Sonic Booms). This seems rather flimsy considering how many Grass Pokemon we have not mistaken based on superficial resemblance, or stuff like multiple Bee Pokemon.
Which made me think: Given how rare the Galarian birds are played in Gameplay (either 0.3% chance catch on a tiny 15 minute window encounter in Go, or end of Post-Game DLC in SwSh), is it possible the people documenting them literally only ever saw one instance, and said instance was the Shiny forms that match the Kanto versions outright on top of the "similar" abilities? It's not like even the minor legendaries are treated as common enough sightings to distinguish them however long ago they first identified it, or they might not even (technically) be Galar native since they congregate at the Dyna Tree but then just roam wherever.

I love this because it also solves my annoyance of "why didn't they say they are two unrelated species like Wigglet and company" (obviously because they were introduced a gen earlier, but in-universe). If what you saw was a Zapdos in everything but typing, which you can't tell on sight, then why doubt it?
Still wish we knew more about the Dyna Tree and their relationship tho.
"Muk" is for sure a swear word in-universe, right?

Nope, that's just your anglocentrism speaking; "-uk" has no particular punchiness, you're just associating it with the english swear
Mulch would be a better pokemon swear because what it can mean; an unclean or demeaning connotation makes a better swear than a sound
so "gooey mulch" > "Muk" even if Muk is still pretty dirty
Well, yeah. The English-speaking community would probably focus on stand ins for english swears and words that have that association in a hypothetical situation where English-equivalent AUs ...And unlike something goofy like "duck", "muck"/'Muk" has similar nasty mouthfeel.
The actual ""issue"" is there's no reason "fuck" wouldn't also be used in English-ish Pokemon-World speaking communities.
There'd probably be people who try to use "muk" to be clever and get nothing by eye rolls, like people who used to bring in fake-swears from shows, or people complaining how their auto-correct keeps changing it into "Muk".
e: I'll also say in-universe people will also make the same exact cum joke with muk as they do in our world, to equal levels of eyerolling.

Realistically the shape of language would probably just result in a way where most of these puns would probably never really come up in the same way some slang like "cock" would, but I'd be surprised if just about every language in our world doesn't have some slang based around an animal or thing in place of a regular word. So it'd still apply in one way or another in Poke-English or Poke-Japanese or Poke-French or whatever.

Starting in Gen 2 and going until quite a while, Arcanine had the highest BST of any standard non-legendary Pokemon at 555, still noticeably below the legendary standard of 580, but still slightly above the 540 of other strong Pokemon like Snorlax and Gyarados.
In Gen 1 however, it's a very different story. Arcanine is still quite high at 455 (tied with Exeggutor) but it's a far second place to Gyarados's near-legendary stats. Mewtwo is way at the top at 590, no surprise there. Mew and Dragonite are next at 500, then comes the legendary birds with incrementally decreasing by 5, with Moltres at 495, Zapdos at 490, and Articuno at 485. And then just another 5 below that is Gyarados at 480, appropriate for a Pokemon with the lore and might of a legendary Pokemon...
It's also tied with Cloyster.

i think the birds not even having the same BST shows they weren't thinkibg that deeply about it then and to a lesser extent still don't today...
I dunno, they go in order of their name. Also still doesn't explain why Cloyster of all Pokemon has such high stats.
i think cloyster is exactly why they weren't thinking too much about it. they wanted its defense to be HUGE and just didn't made its attacking stats junk like they did onix. that happened to put him at 480 and still not even be busted. saddling cloyster with 45 spdef in gen 2 despite not being a big problem in gen 1 feels more conscious of BST than what 1 did
I don't think they knew that Freezer's American name was going to be Articuno when they gave it its stats.
True, but they're still ordered that way in the Pokedex, and Moltres is definitely supposed to be the last of the three considering it's found in Victory Road. Them having a hierarchy like that seems very intentional.
They probably assumed Frieza.
I do feel RGBY tries to nudge the player to meet and catch Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres in that specific order, even though that intention isn't always successful since not everyone who plays it actually tries to explore every nook and cranny of the game (even though that's also what the game seemingly wants you to do). Ideally Articuno should be the first one you meet, since even before you get ahold of Surf, you can look through the binoculars at the Route 15 gate right near Fuschia City, the southernmost city, and the game tells you there's a bird flying towards the seas and shows Articuno and plays its cry, basically nudging you to go through the Seafoam Islands after you get Surf and the water routes. Then Zapdos is second, and is on a Surf-accessed new part of the mainland near Route 10 and the Rock Tunnel, where there's a side dungeon complete with Voltorb, Magnemite, and Pikachu, and then Zapdos is there. Zapdos is more out of the way but is accessible as soon as Surf opens up, just like Articuno, though the fact that it's second is why it's more the more hidden and out there of the two. Then Moltres is dead last, because it's in Victory Road which is only accessible once you've obtained all eight badges and is very easy to see but that area is close to the end of the game.
So like, yeah there's definitely an intended order in which they want you to meet the three. How well that intention actually worked in practice is another matter though.
