Why isn’t ghost monkey banned in random battle?

You would have to ask them in this subforum/thread

There isn't a best average speed tier, all that matters is you can revenge kill or wall everything you need to (if you have no dragapult answer for example, you need an ice shard / sucker punch, a dragapult wall, a deoxys speed, or a booster energy/choice scarf mon faster than it)
Thank you for your advice, I'll keep it mind

Bulky Roaring Moon usually run speed for a certain benchmark (Lando, Kyurem, Crown, etc) and the rest in HP with an Adamant nature. It's usually DD Roost with Knock Off and some other coverage, like EQ, Acro, or Tera Blast. It doesn't necessarily beat Stall but it can force the opponent to send in Dozo and get Knocked, which can lead to Dozo being overwhelmed by Hazards.

Theres also the option to go very defensive investment and that way u can easily tank and beat things like Great Tusk and other physical attackers. Tera Ground is the most common way to go about this but fairy is also popular af

How do you often decide when an offensive vs defensive tera is more worth it on a sweeper?

for example, I've been trying to use Tera Dragon Pult with Dragon fang and DD--I usually opt for Tera Dragon for the damage boost if I get the chance to do so, but it often leaves me wondering if it woulda been more worthwhile to get a defensive typing instead to either cheese a MU or give an extra turn. Does the Tera amp make this sort of more 'worthwhile' so to speak compared to a defensive choice?

I've been trying to swap up style of play from reactive to proactive by forcing myself to leverage choices like this, however I feel like the times I've seen higher players do so it feels random to me sometimes. I imagine its to muscle past certain checks, such as Tera Dark glasses Gambit for example.

it depends. Tera as a resource helps your mon in certain matchups at the cost of not doing much in others. Tera Dragon here is improving your damage output into walls that don't resist Dragon, but defensively it's not flipping many matchups. Dragon is a very neutral typing, but Pult is too frail to take strong neutral moves comfortably, so it's likely that moves like Sucker Punch from Gambit will still do lots of damage. So Tera Dragon

offensively: powers up Darts to break through Alomomola, Lando, Gliscor, Tusk, etc, but doesn't provide any more coverage for Pult, who already lacks coverage
defensively: drops Dark and Ghost weakness, which might let Pult live a move occasionally? Sucker Punch or Shadow Ball is still doing a lot though; loses Fighting immunity, which makes the Zama matchup harder

In the spirit of identifying defensive vs offensive Teras, I'll discuss some more Pult Teras for your DD set.

Tera Ghost:
offensively: adds Ghost STAB, notable since Ghost Tera Blast is stronger than other Tera Blasts due to STAB
defensively: preserves Fighting and Normal immunity for Zama and Dragonite matchups, doesn't help vs Gambit, loses Thunderclap and Grassy Glide resist

Tera Fire:
offensively: great coverage with Darts, can surprise Steels like Gambit and Corv which otherwise wall
defensively: flips Fairy and Ice weaknesses into resists, which can grant a setup opportunity; blocks Wisp; creates Stealth Rock weakness, which limits second attempts at a sweep; adds Ground weakness, which can let mons like Great Tusk or Ting Lu threaten an OHKO

Tera Fairy:
offensively: adds Fairy coverage; grants super effective coverage into Zama, Tusk, Ting Lu; doesn't improve matchup against Steels
defensively: flips Dragon weakness into immunity, letting Pult beat down other dragons safely; flips Dark weakness into resist while continuing to resist Fighting; loses Extreme Speed immunity

In the end it's up to you to decide what advantages fit your team better. if you want to practice this kind of thinking, you could analyze the Tera types that people run on other sweepers to see what advantages and disadvantages come with the chosen Tera type. you also want to think about your mon specifically; Pult is a frail mon that might need help setting up when compared to Iron Moth, a mon that needs help breaking past its checks in order to keep the Booster Speed sweep going. Hope this helps, I know it was an indirect answer

Heya, havent played since Gen7. I looked around for a rain team but could find anything so was wondering if someone could drop me one with a lil explaination on its build and what to look out for. Thx

Rain in sv ou is not very viable, this is because the rain abusers are limited and fragile, which leave them dead vs Kingambit, dragonite and Raging Bolt, all of these have strong priority in common, Kyurem can also stall out rain or spam freeze dry. Ogerpon-Wellspring has water absorb and kills most waters with ease. And while less common alternatives, tera water garganacl or rillaboom just spell doom for you. Even Gliscor whos normally useless vs rain can at the very least protect stall

If you still wanna try out rain, Pelipper, Barraskewda are your bread and butter, Iron Treads is hazard removal that benefits from rain with less fire damage and also checks raging bolt. Raging Bolt is also fun since you have access to both weather ball and thunder. As always, thunder, weather ball and hurricane users can give you some interesting options, but rain is just not very good right now

Haven't used this team in a while, but its pretty fun from what I've remembered. Weather Ball Raging Bolt is broken under Rain, has no counters outside of Chansey and Blissey. Taunt Iron Jugulis is strong on rain, accurate hurricanes, Strong Hydro Pump for the likes of Kingambit, Taunt to beat down walls like Gliscor, etc. Iron Crown is here to act as a pivot + Kyurem check, since that can be annoying. Treads is the defacto Rocks + Spinner, useful for opposing Raging bolt which can be annoying. Lastly, Tera Blast Ghost CB Basculegion is strong. Jolly is needed to outspeed Booster Moth, Booster Valiant, etc. Tera Blast Ghost OHKOes Slowking-Galar, Ogerpon-W, etc. and the innate ghost typing can help against Zamazenta.

What to watch-out for:
Kingambit - Threat since this team's Dark Resist will usually die very early
Zamazenta - ID + BP is very difficult to stop
Garganacl - Team has no switch-ins to this Pokemon
Water Absorb Clodsire - Very difficult to break through given this team's reliance on Water offense.
Ogerpon-W - Rain boosts this Pokemon's damage, Raging Bolt doesn't switch into it very long, outspeeds everything long-term.
Slowking-Galar + Mola - Chilly + Flips 500 times, resets rain. Raging Bolt can beat them, but only after substantial chip.
Goodra-H: Random mon that has coverage for everything, nearly impossible to safely switch into + walls everyone.

This is my first time trying to learn a team preview gen and I find myself struggling a lot with deciding what pokemon to lead. I'm currently using the HO sample team with a sash ceaseless edge samurott that I think you're supposed to lead with, but it's also a very obvious lead looking at my team, so a lot of the time I find myself in situations where it just gets one layer of spike and a bit of chip before dying. Anyone have advice or some resources for choosing which mon to send out it?

How does sun deal with Chilly Reception SlowkingG?
Ninetales cannot touch it and Torkoal's EQ does 30-50% depending on Gking's EVs (unless Torkoal is 252+ Atk, in that case is 40-60% and 60-90% with Tera Ground, which does not look like a consistent solution).
Lead Gking is unpunished unless i counter lead with something else, but in that way I don't have sun on T1. Every turn that I want to switch in Ninetales/Torkoal I have to guess if my opponent predicts it and goes Gking, which results in a free switch in for him after Chilly

Sun teams in general needs to make aggressive plays to keep up offensive momentum through double switches and predictions. This is especially important in the Gking matchup - try to use your physical breakers up front to gain momentum through U-turn / Eject Pack however the team is designed, and you can position yourself to be in with your Wake with Sun up on the Gking in a few turns. If you are modest tera water specs, you're in the perfect position to OHKO / 2HKO.

Is there a set for Alomomola that utilizes Mirror Coat with Wish passing, or is that as long for too much, and she should stick to passing or Assault Vest M.Coating?

Besides her, are there any other units with the workable combination of Assault Vest and Mirror Coat?

I figured. The only other mon I had success with AV Coat was on Arboliva a good ways back.

It'll be nice if she makes a resurgence. Please, think of the trees when banning Tera blast.

Slowking-Galar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 208 HP / 216 SpA / 80 SpD / 4 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psyshock
- Flamethrower
- Sludge Bomb
- Ice Beam
Whats the spread for this av glowking set for?

what are some offensive checks to cinderace?

Dragapult (avoid Sucker), Dragonite (avoid WoW), Zamazenta (avoid Wow), Iron Moth (one time check), Gliscor (avoid Tera Blast Ice), every Swift Swim Mon, Great Tusk (avoid Wow again), Volcanion (avoid switching into Gunk Shot), Raging Bolt (same), Walking Wake in Sun, Heatran (avoid Fight moves), Glimmora (same), Specs Pelipper (avoid switching into Gunk Shot), Primarina (fully avoid Gunk Shot), Paldean Tauros Fire, Skeledirge (I think this can count as offensive if it doesnt have Wow), Dragalge, Kommo-O, Minior and there are many more. Few are 100% reliable check, since Ace has an endless movepool and Stab on everything (it can even use Electro Ball and Scorching Sand, lol), but it can only have 4 moves at a time, one of which will be Pyro Ball and 80% of the time Court Change and U-Turn will be used, so in practice its not that hard to check.

What does Unaware clefable run and what type of teams is it found on?
From what I can remember, they're usually just standard Clefable sets, but with Unaware as the ability instead of Magic Guard. They also sometimes run Heavy-Duty Boots to maintain hazard immunity.

As for teams, it's usually found on Stall, or occasionally Balance.
