High Quality Fanworks

Seeing all those headshots reminded me of Pokemon Shuffle, which was entirely literal heads, so when it came to the UBs you got wonderful things like this

I'm still annoyed Shuffle was tecnically discontinued if only because of that. There are artists out there that do keep making icons of that style for the newer mons but it's just a shame (and it was also kinda fun on its own as a game, as Trozei was).

Here is gen 9 as an example. They just have a lot of charm.

Pokemon Cafe Remix should still be pumping out these icons, albeit in a softer shading style. The primary focus when people talk about this game is definitely the full-body spritework but the actual gameplay still uses the classic Trozei-styling

Doesn't seem like spriters resource has updated their rip in...christ 5 years? Game has been out for that long??
Uh, anyway, Serebii just has the full body sprites and bulbapedia doesnt have them either but the app icons still show them off sometimes

Pretty cute approximations, they really nailed that style.

Another update: The full new Mega roster is complete!

We need to have a discussion on how shockingly underexplored of a concept Pokemon X Transformers is among fan artists in both communities. I mean just look at it, it's self-explanatorily rad. Frankly I don't even know why TPC hasn't reached out to Hasbro or Takara about this or vice versa

So would we just be getting equivalents to the Maximals/Predacons or would we be seeing more unique Pokemon (presumably the ones which aren't already humanoid)?

My gut instinct is to do Humanoid Mon+Nonhuman Mon transformers. Emboar-Charizard, Venosaur-Roserade, Ceruledge-Mismagius.

The easier option is just to do evolutions/form changes, but those seem boring.

I mean the obvious pitch is the one I just posted where you have the Transformers cast turn into Pokemon to maximize appeal to both fanbases. Standard issue "Cybertron's fucked due to war, both sides bail to Earth" set-up but this time it's PokeEarth they land on. Pokemon fans get to see their creatures become robots, Transformers fans see which modes their favorite Autobots and Decepticons turn into (Give me liberty, give me fire, give me Zacian Star Saber & Eternatus Deszaras or I retire)

One of the Transformers still turns into a truck but it's the truck.

Wait, maybe you're onto something. Like, who says they need to be Pokemon to Robots? Maybe the better direction would be Pokemon who transform into Vehicles. Or, instead of the usual bipedal robots, into more industrial robots.

This one's definitely one of the better attempts at the original dragon, top 2 easily actually (Vahirom my beloved). Way too often did I see people make an attempt at it and then just, chimera splice Reshiram and Zekrom parts together in a Black/White Kyurem shape, colours and limbs constantly bouncing between black and white instead of being a pure whole creature.
