Resource Solomods Megathread

Nihilslave's Better BH Exploration Notes II (why this is me posting this instead huh? Nihilslave )
:gholdengo:Infinite Fusion:chansey:

Premise
:
  • Choose a Pokémon as usual to be the Body Part, while giving it the name of a Pokémon as nickname which is to be the Head Part of the fusioned Pokémon
  • Fusioned Pokémon's base stats of H P, SpA, SpD = That base stats of Head * 2 / 3 + That base stats of Body * 1 / 3
  • Fusioned Pokémon's base stats of Atk, Def, Spe = That base stats of Head * 1 / 3 + That base stats of Body * 2 / 3
  • Fusioned Pokémon's Types include: First Type of Head + Second (or First if no Second) Type of Body
  • Fusioned Pokémon's available Abilities include: First Ability of Head, Second Ability of Body, and Hidden Ability of Head
  • Fusioned Pokémon's available Moves include: ALL moves learnt by Head and Body
Optional Premise:
  • Pokémon in Formes cannot be used
  • Special Fusions. E.g. Calyrex + Spectrier = Calyrex-Shadow
  • Pokémon's Total EV limit is doubled, i.e. 1020
  • National Dex (I know it's not gonna happen)
Rules (With all premises above)
Ruleset: Obtainable, +Past, +Unobtainable, +Unreleased, Team Species Preview, Nickname Preview, !!EV Limit = 1020, Species Clause, HP Percentage Mod, Cancel Mod, Endless Battle Clause, Sketch Post-Gen 7 Moves, Dynamax Clause, Terastal Clause, OHKO Clause, Evasion Moves Clause
Banlist: Cramorant, Shedinja, Moody, Shadow Tag, Baton Pass, Geomancy, Revival Blessing
Restricted: Eternatus, Groudon, Kyogre

Q&As:
Q: Why are the stats and ability contributions asymmetric for Head and Body?
A: To make teambuilding more interesting. For example, if you wanna have an imposter with high hp, Blissey + Ditto should be the choice. But since Imposter is the Hidden Ability of Ditto, you have to put it into the Head slot in order to have that, which inevitably restricts the total base hp of the fusioned pokemon.

Q: How is this even related to "Better BH"?
A: As you can see, the trend of gamefreak designing new Pokemon, Moves, and Abilities is that, they design a lot of broken things, and then combine them to make sure no Pokemon has all of broken Stats, broken Moves, and broken Abilities together. (Actually some even do have, see Zacian-C.) The fact is, gamefreak won't take "how hackmons will be like if we add this broken move" into any account. If this continues, Hackmons formats will surely be harder and harder to balance. Pure Hackmons is already destroyed by such trend, while Balancd Hackmons will be done sooner or later imo.
A: However in Infinite Fusion, you are still kinda free to choose from all the Abilities and Moves like in Hackmons, while the meta itself already inherently has gamefreak's "balancing design" by its mechanics. Thus you can see the thinnest ever banlist in OM (I don't check others lol. But it's surely thin enough.) Plus we doubled the EV limit for each Pokemon, which just makes it a perfect Hackmons alternative.

Q: Why is this an Uber-based metagame?
A: I believe it will be too hard to balance if we make it OU-based + I want it to be a BH alt.

Q: How does Species Clause work here?
A: You will usually have 12 species in your team counting both Heads and Bodies. And the Species Clause check is based on that. Self-Fusion will only count that species once tho.

Q: Eternatus, Groudon, and Kyogre and restricted, does this mean they are banned from fusion with other Pokemon?
A: Nope. We have such thing called Special Fusion so when you fusion Eternatus with Eternatus you will get Eternatus-Eternamax, which should undoubtedly be banned. So this restriction list just means we banned Eternatus-Eternamax, Groudon-Primal, and Kyogre-Primal.

Replays:
Electric Surge
Trick Room
Offense War
Balance War
Stall War

Edit:
Also, we have decided to develop a lower tier based on the above rules - with a ban list based on ND OU and some obviously ubers calibur things like huge power, shadow tag and arene trap etc, we call it Infinite fusion - OU (IF OU) and we are also having fun with it. Feel free to join https://psc.sciroccogti.top/ to have a try!

Summary of the Mod: This National Dex mod introduces brand-new signature moves for fully-evolved Pokémon that don’t have any, or lost them, in the Gen 9 games.

My aim when designing these moves was to make every Pokémon stand out by using their attributes in a unique way, encapsulated in a move that fits their style. The inspiration could come from a Pokémon’s stats, their dex entries, their visual design, their vibes, etc.

The definition of a signature move is pretty inconsistent if we go by official material, so I went with this :
“A move is considered a signature move if it can be learned by only one evolutionary line, or by a group of Pokémon closely related by lore or by species design.”

Lastly, some existing signature moves did get some changes but it’s mostly rebalancing old moves to align with modern standards. I kept these kind of adjustments to a minimum.

Some examples of new signature moves:
Sudowoodo’s Fake Branch is a powerful move that also uses the Pokémon’s peculiar hydrophobia. With it, Sudowoodo will dodge any Water-type move coming its way for one turn, then retaliate at the end of the turn. Though keep in mind that as a lower priority move, it leaves Sudowoodo vulnerable to other weaknesses such as Grass or Ground.
Dugtrio’s Triple Dig is simply an adaptation of Wugtrio’s Triple Dive. Being a Ground-type multi-hit attack, Triple Dig stands as an alternative to Earthquake in Doubles, and can be used to break Focus Sash on occasions. Beware of the 5% chance of miss!
Roserade’s Secret Thorns is an alternative to Toxic that fits a debuffer playstyle. When used on a target with high remaining HP, Secret Thorns inflicts Poison and lower’s the target’s Atk, whereas if the target’s HP is lower than 50%, Roserade instead inflicts Bad Poison and prevents the target from healing for 2 turns, putting the target into a dreadful corner.

State of the Mod:
  • Work in progress, I'm in the coding phase.
  • The design phase is complete! I have already written all the moves for every Pokémon, so please understand that I am not taking suggestions for new moves. Feedback is otherwise welcome.
  • The mod is balanced around the Doubles format, but it’s also playable in Singles. Some new moves will be less useful though.
  • I already coded the moves on the list above into a local server and would like to put this version on DH for further testing and improvements (I don’t know how to submit it plz help).

Thanks for reading, I'm having fun with this so far!
The first version of Signaturemons is now online on the Pet Mod server ! Playable is Singles and Doubles and teambuilder-compatible.
You can play it with friends by selecting Signaturemons as your format of choice, under Solomods : http://petmodsdh.com/

Summary of the Mod: The Pet Mods Room on PS! creates new forms based around Shiny Pokemon. Each joiner gets a randomly generated Pokemon, for who (and its prevos) they may create a new form for it. The form must have the same stats, but may have new types, abilities, and moves that must be based on flavor. Finally, one custom move may be created (no custom abilities) that will work like Behemoth Bash works. It will start from a base move; if the correct Shiny Pokemon has this move, it will automatically turn it into the signature move.

With the new Tamagotchi Paradise on the horizon, some might wonder how my Solomod, Pokémon Let's Go Tamagotchi, will adapt to it...well...

The new Tamagotchi introduced in the Tamagotchi Paradise will be joining Go! Go! Tamagotchi! in July! And we're going to do something special with these lot...we heard that not a single one's going to be a Normal or Fairy-type!
In the meantime, you can go and try out the metagame to see what has to be changed: You can play it in DragonHaven!

Free For All Metronome is a 6v6, one vs all metagame where users undergo a war of attrition to outlast their opponents. You are given access to Pokemon that have access to Metronome through the base game. While this may look like a limited pool of Pokemon, there are many strategies for players to explore to give themselves as much of a competitive advantage as possible. Free For All Metronome has been a metagame that has recieved development over the last 2 years, and we're excited to share to you this fascinating tier that all can enjoy!

Standard Smogon Clauses such as Sleep Clause, Freeze Clause, and Species Clause apply.
- Regenerator Clause: Teams are restricted to one Pokemon with the ability “Regenerator” to prevent infinite battles.
- Switch Clause: Each player is prohibited from switching Pokemon multiple turns in a row. Being phased (via. Roar, Whirlwind) or rolling pivot moves (such as U-Turn, Volt Switch, Teleport) doesn’t count as a switch.
- Item Clause: Each team is restricted to one item per team. Teams may not possess multiple copies of items such as Leftovers and Leppa Berry. Similarly functioning items are counted as separate items (e.g. Iapapa and Wiki Berry).
- Imprison Clause: In an event Imprison is called, all participants are required to switch until they are no longer imprisoned. If the opposition is incapable of switching and they call Imprison (ie. last Pokemon remaining), then they would be asked to forfeit.

Massive update to this one, I've been slowly working on a full rebuild of it since I wasn't very satisfied with how it turned out.
New version's spreadsheet can be accessed here.

Changes:
- Dex expanded from 82 to 126 formes, now includes all Touhou characters appearing in a Windows game up to Touhou 19.
- Movepools greatly expanded, roughly doubled or tripled on average, now includes flavor moves
- Most characters' stats and abilities have been rebalanced or largely changed
- Now designed with doubles in mind
- Sprites for all characters (sourced from PatchCon and the r/touhou flair images), with custom-made shiny palettes

It will be playable as soon as Dragonheaven updates as the pull request is already pending, albeit with a handful of moves and abilities non-functional and potentially some bugs, but these will be fixed soon. Shoutouts anaconja again for coding.
Edit: now online!

Spreadsheet - Discord Server

This is a National Dex Based Micrometa based around Anime, with the characters replacing the pokemon, bringing along with them custom moves, custom abilities, and custom items, all having uses derivative of their purpose or effect in the original work. This is a mod focused on flavor but we want a somewhat competitive game. If there is any issues with competitiveness please feel free to say so in the discord.

Characters will be added in "Waves" each being ~10-15 characters (or more if we get to work but i doubt.) This solomod is unfinished, but of course it is, there is so much anime it would be near impossible to cover them all. We are also not doing all of one anime at a time.

As stated above its a work in progress, even with Characters that are going to be added in the first wave, so please join our discord server to help code or make the data for a character.

Violet Version Resource Update!

Today, June 10th, marks my 20th year on this website. Disturbing! To celebrate, I've completed a Violet Version-related project I've been working on for over a year: finalizing its manual. It now has improved formatting, additional clarifying notes, and even a brief "history of gen 1 mods" section.

...Okay, so, big deal. But the truly exciting thing is that each Pokemon now has an all-new Pokedex entry! That's 44 never-before-seen Pokedex entries, written by me.

Can a human fight a Pinsir? Are Tangela to be trusted? Is Golduck really a ghost? The Violet Version G1 Pokedex is sure to raise more questions than answers. In a word, I worked hard on them. Please enjoy!

Original Violet Version Solomod Post

leader of the solomods subforum finally fills his second solomod slot after over two years, incredible

I already gave the spiel about having a million unreleased solomods back when I dropped Stadium YB and somehow the problem got even worse. Partially because at many points I didn't have time to maintain a metagame (on top of whatever other Pet Mods stuff I was doing), partially because a lot of my ideas are far from beginner friendly, and partially because I just move on from ideas really quickly (even this one took awhile to release, as it's been ready-to-go since like February lol). But this very simple idea actually stuck for me and I think will make for a compact and fun metagame to get into while I work on future projects, so I'm hoping that you'll give it a try, even if it's in a generation that Pet Mods haven't really explored yet.

Name of Mod: Best Wishes from YB
Mascot (Optional)::reshiram:
Link to Changes: Spreadsheet
Summary of the Mod: This is a Gen 5-based micrometa where only Pokemon introduced in Gen 5 are allowed, with most of them being rebalanced in an attempt to make most, if not all, FEs viable. This idea was directly inspired by a previously discussed Pet Mod idea from years ago by Yung Dramps and AquaticPanic called Perfect Unova that would've been very similar (I did get permission from Aquatic to release this). Some universal adjustments have been made as well, namely a nerf to Gems and an overhaul of Freeze, but everything else follows Gen 5 mechanics. Best Wishes from YB is already playable on DH.
Competitive Overview:
Rules
Species Clause: Limit one of each Pokémon
OHKO Clause: OHKO moves are banned
Moody Clause: Moody is banned
Evasion Items Clause: Evasion items are banned
Evasion Moves Clause: Evasion moves are banned
Endless Battle Clause: Forcing endless battles is banned
HP Percentage Mod: HP is shown in percentages
Sleep Moves Clause: Sleep-inducing moves are banned
Swagger Clause: Swagger is banned

Banned Moves/Items/Abilities

Baton Pass
Hidden Power

King's Rock
Razor Fang

Shadow Tag
Only the most major changes are listed here, a full list can be seen in the spreadsheet linked above.

Mechanics
:vanilluxe:Snow:vanilluxe:
Replaces Hail, works exactly as it does in Gen 9. Snow Warning and the move Hail now set Snow.

:kyurem:Freeze:kyurem:
Has received a complete overhaul, with the following changes:
- No longer immobilizing the afflicted Pokemon
- Affected Pokemon now lose 1/16 of their max HP at the end of every turn (1/8 in Snow)
- Affected Pokemon take 30% more damage from attacks (basically, every attack against them gets a Life Orb boost)
- Pokemon can still naturally thaw out of freeze, but the chance is now only 10% per turn
- Other methods of thawing out still work
- Fire-types are now immune to freeze
- The Snowball item has been added to the game and inflicts freeze when flung - this is the only guaranteed way to inflict freeze
- Facade is now boosted by freeze (and sleep) and Synchronize now activates if the Pokemon with it is frozen
These changes remove the uncompetitiveness of freeze while still making Ice-type moves scary for walls come in on, since the damage boost + chip damage might get them in range of an unexpected 2HKO.

:stunfisk:Paralysis & Confusion:haxorus:
Paralysis and confusion now work like they do in Gen 9, except that paralysis still lowers Speed by 0.25x. This, along with limited Steel-type options and strong Dragons like Haxorus and Kyurem-Black, is why Outrage has been nerfed to 100 BP.

Moves
:mandibuzz:Defog:braviary:
Now works like Gen 6 Defog, removing hazards from both sides of the field - While this is a crazy change to make on paper, it's actually quite low impact, since Defog options are extremely limited and the options that do exist (mainly Mandibuzz, Whimsicott, and Braviary) all kinda suck. Thus, hazards remain strong if you're not using an Excadrill to get rid of them, but you have a few new options for teams that absolutely need hazard control.

:musharna:Teleport:liepard:
Now switches the user out - DryPass: The Move, was originally supposed to a change to Baton Pass to unban it and add some more pivoting options, but I couldn't figure out how to stop Baton Pass from passing volatiles, so I put the changes on Teleport instead and gave it Baton Pass' distribution. This is why weird stuff like Liepard and Scolipede get the move.

:heatmor:Swallow & Spit Up:garbodor:
Both of these moves now have effects when you have no Stockpiles:
Swallow - Now heals 1/3 of the user's max HP when the user has no Stockpiles, 1/2 at 1, 2/3 at 2, and all HP at 3.
Spit Up - Now has 50 BP when the user has no Stockpiles.
This mainly serves to buff Swallow, now being a decent recovery option for Heatmor and Garbodor.

Items
:normal gem:Gems:normal gem:
Gems are unbanned, receiving a big power nerf, going from 50% to 30%, but in return they now also give the affected move an additional effect. Some notable ones include:
:dark gem:Dark - Removes the foe's item after dealing damage - Probably the best gem effect since its effect is uniquely permanent, turns 1 Dark move into Knock Off. I'd say that this is the second best gem overall and will probably be the most common one.
:steel gem:Electric, Poison, Ground, Rock, Steel - Lowers the foe's Evasion/Special Defense/Attack/Special Attack/Defense by 1 stage - These five gems all lower stats, with the best of these being Poison and Steel, as these normally awful offensive typings can be used to force switches or bust through walls with their defense drops.
:flying gem:Flying - Gives the foe the Telekinesis effect - This effect isn't terribly strong, but the Flying Gem will always have a use-case because of Acrobatics, though it's also kinda nice to guarantee hitting a second Hurricane after managing to hit the first one.
:psychic gem:Psychic - Gives the foe the Heal Block effect - Longer Psychic Noise on any one Psychic move, can similarly force walls into awkward positions like Poison and Steel Gem.
Additionally, Unnerve now prevents Gems from activating

:light ball:Light Ball:light ball:
Now works on Emolga, which, along with a stat overhaul and minor movepool buffs, makes Emolga into a fun glass cannon.

Abilities
:seismitoad:Speed-boosting Weather Abilities:sawsbuck:
With all 4 weathers present in the tier (more on that later), finding a way to unban the likes of Chlorophyll and Swift Swim felt like a good opportunity to further shake up the weather metagame, so they all been unbanned but with a couple changes:
- Chlorophyll, Sand Rush, and Swift Swim now only boost Speed by 1.5x in their respective weathers.
- Slush Rush now exists and also only boosts Speed by 1.5x.
- Drilbur and Excadrill no longer have Sand Rush
These give weather teams good forms of Speed control but said Speed control is only as strong as a Choice Scarf, often still requiring abusers to run Speed boosting natures, lest they get revenge killed by Scarfers naturally fast mons, being much more along the lines of Protosynthesis Speed-boosting in Gen 9. Plus, without Sand Rush Excadrill, the wielders of these strong abilities aren't particularly crazy, with the best for each weather being Seismitoad, Sawsbuck, Stoutland, and Beartic, who all have multiple other faults that keep them from being overwhelming, or even automatic inclusions on weather teams.

:cryogonal:Snow Cloak / Sand Veil:krookodile:
These abilities take a page from VaporeMons and now make the Pokemon immune to indirect damage in their respective weathers, instead of increasing Evasion. They remain niche but really nice to have to avoid damage form hazards or Life Orb.

:excadrill:Sand Force:landorus:
Excadrill also got its other weather ability nerfed, as Sand Force now only boosts the power of Ground, Steel, and Rock moves by 1.2x in Sand instead of 1.3x, making Excadrill and the unbanned Landorus much easier to handle in Sand.

:genesect:Download:genesect:
Genesect is unbanned, needing multiple nerfs to to do so, with one of them being Download. Now, the stat boost goes away at the end of the next turn, which makes it harder for Genesect to snowball after getting the right boost. This encourages its VoltTurning playstyle, but (spoiler alert) with Genesect getting a massive Attack nerf, said playstyle is much less powerful.

Future Gen Abilities/Moves
Along with the aforementioned Slush Rush, a couple future generation abilities and moves have been added as either unique buffs or flavor to a few mons
:samurott::leavanny:Samurott & Leavanny get Sharpness - Samurott also now gets Sacred Sword
:swanna:Swanna gets Gale Wings (Gen 7+ version) - Swanna also got a big HP buff, making it a niche Keldeo answer
:bouffalant:Bouffalant gets Fur Coat - Along with some stat rearrangement and movepool buffs, Bouff now serves as a decent blanket check to physical attackers
:eelektross:Eelektross, Emolga, and Stunfisk get Parabolic Charge, which is now a 65 BP Electric-type Draining Kiss clone - Mainly here to buff Eelektross as a bulky set up mon, since it also now gets Calm Mind
:cobalion:Cobalion gets Tachyon Cutter - Steel is still a bad offensive typing pre-Gen 6, but Tachyon Cutter's notable power jump compared to Flash Cannon makes it a great option on Coba
:terrakion:Terrakion gets Mighty Cleave, which is now 65 BP and no longer makes contact - Had to add this if I was adding Tachyon Cutter, you won't use it over Stone Edge but it exists. You'll find out what Virizion got in the next section, as it's definitely not Psyblade
:cinccino:Cinccino gets Tidy Up - Adds another niche hazard control option with some (literal) sweeping potential
:sawk:Sawk & Throh get Upper Hand - Added solely for Reversal Sawk shenanigans, since Upper Hand makes it so that you can't get revenged by priority if you win the mindgame
Probably the absolutely biggest change I made was adding weather setters for all four weathers, retaining Gen 5's iconic weather wars. While weather-less teams are perfectly viable and powerful, most teams will want to opt for a weather setter, so you'll want to know what you'll be working with.

SAND
The Setter

:bw/gigalith:
Gigalith @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock / Toxic
- Protect / Toxic / Gravity

Gigalith @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Superpower
- Stealth Rock / Toxic / Explosion
Gigalith gets Sand Stream from its Gen 7 buff, along with its slight SpD buff from Gen 6, now serving as Tyranitar's replacement in this metagame. Gigalith is fairly lacking in options and pure-Rock isn't great, but it boasts great all-around stats aside from Speed and adequate utility in Stealth Rock, Toxic, and even Gravity to keep it from being deadweight. It's also the slowest weather setter, giving it the advantage on a double weather lead. Through my playtesting, I'd probably say that Sand is the best weather and most all-around weather, having both great abusers and a solid setter.

The Abusers
:bw/excadrill::bw/landorus::bw/stoutland:
Excadrill - While lacking Sand Rush, Excadrill is still one of the best Pokemon in the tier and an amazing Sand abuser, thanks to the amazing offensive utility it yields with its great power, bulk, and typing plus Rapid Spin, helped by Sand Force boosting its STABs by 20%.
Landorus - Landorus has been unbanned with significant nerfs, with a new statline of 89/115/80/105/70/101, the loss of Sheer Force for Cloud Nine, and Sand Force's nerf. Despite all of that, Landorus remains one of the most powerful offensive mons in the tier, which just gets further boosted by Sand activating Sand Force.
Stoutland - Definitely a step down from the two top tier Ground-type behemoths, but Stoutland is the only Sand Rush abuser, so its ability to provide Speed control on dedicated Sand teams while still hitting pretty hard is much appreciated.
Other Abusers - Anything immune to Sand chip works on Sand teams, particularly the always good Ferrothorn and Reuniclus, as well as the unbanned Genesect as a pivot that beats Grass-types for your Ground-types.

RAIN
The Setter

:bw/basculin:
Basculin @ Choice Scarf / Choice Band
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Waterfall
- Final Gambit / Aqua Jet
- Crunch
- Superpower

Basculin-Blue-Striped @ Leftovers
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Protect
- Scald
- Toxic
- Taunt
Rain teams are forced to use the lowly Basculin, who I'd say is by far the worst weather setter. However, I'd still say that Rain is the second best weather thanks to how great its abusers are. Plus, it's not like you're playing 5v6 when you choose to bring Rain, since Basculin can still do some things. Scarf Basculin provides nice Speed control without having to use Seismitoad and makes for a good revenge killer, Banded Basculin hits hard and lures Ferrothorn in to smack it with Superpower, and Defensive Basculin makes re-setting rain more consistent and baits in Keldeo checks like Jellicent and Musharna to annoy them with Toxic + Taunt.

The Abusers
:bw/keldeo-resolute::bw/tornadus-therian::bw/seismitoad:
Keldeo - Keldeo has gotten a number of nerfs (discussed later) but still remains a terrifying attacker, made scarier by Rain boosting its Surfs and Hydro Pumps to insane levels.
Tornadus-Therian - Torn-T has also gotten a bunch of nerfs (most notably losing Regenerator for Trace) but it's still faster than most of the metagame and Gen 5 Hurricane is still a crazy move, so being able to click that to your heart's content is great.
Thundurus(-Therian) - The best Electric-types to click Thunder with, while also providing Rain teams with a useful Grass resist.
Seismitoad - The best Swift Swimmer, while its Speed tier is middling and it's quite weak, having that free 1.5x Speed while providing a ton of role compression for Rain (Speed Control, Hazard Setter, Ground to block Volt Switch, Wallbreaker, etc.) makes Seismitoad a great option.
Other Abusers - Rain is pretty open for options, aside from Fire-types for the most part, but Genesect and Ferrothorn deserve obvious shoutouts since Rain means that they don't have to worry about Fire moves as much. Both Jellicent and Amoonguss are nice as Keldeo checks as well, since your own Rain buffs it.

SUN
The Setter

:bw/heatmor:
Heatmor @ Leftovers
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Flamethrower
- Giga Drain / Solar Beam
- Will-O-Wisp
- Swallow
Sun's setter is Heatmor, who's received the biggest overhaul of all the weather setters. Not only does it now have recovery in the buffed Swallow, but it has a completely new stat spread that's a rearrangement of Durant's stats, being 58/48/109/109/112/48. This makes Heatmor a fairly sturdy defensive piece for Sun teams, letting you stack the rest of your team with offensive options. Sun is overall pretty middling, both in terms of its setter and abusers, but still very potent in the right circumstances.

The Abusers
:bw/virizion::bw/volcarona::bw/sawsbuck-winter:
Virizion - Cobalion got Tachyon Cutter and Terrakion got Mighty Cleave, so what did Virizion get? Psyblade wouldn't make sense, so instead Virizion gets Solar Blade as a signature move. But, instead of regular Solar Blade, it instead is 80 BP but raises the user's Attack by 1 on the charge turn, making it a physical Electro Shot in Sun. With Virizion's high Speed and sneakily good typing, it becomes a scary sweeper in Sun that naturally threatens every other weather setter, making it hard to stop once it gets going, though it has to actually get going first.
Volcarona - Volcarona is still a pretty big menace and expectedly loves the Sun boosting its Fire moves to nuclear levels. However, Volcarona's Speed has gotten a massive nerf down to 75, meaning that it further appreciates Sun weakening Water moves for it, since it often needs 2 Quiver Dances to outspeed everything it needs to.
Sawsbuck - It's a bit of a competition between Lilligant and Sawsbuck, but I think the latter is the best Chlorophyll mon. Swords Dance makes Sawsbuck a scary sweeper in Sun, with Double-Edge/Horn Leech/Nature Power (which becomes Earthquake in Gen 5) covering most of the metagame, or you could even run a Jump Kick or a Fire-type Natural Gift to nab Ferrothorn.
Lilligant - Lilligant is also still worth talking about, since it's quite powerful, can sweep with Quiver Dance, or support the team with Healing Wish.
Other Abusers - Strong Fire-types in general are great in Sun, with the best aside from Volcarona being Victini, and anything weak to Water also appreciates the Sun.

SNOW
The Setter

:bw/vanilluxe:
Vanilluxe @ Choice Specs / Never-Melt Ice
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Blizzard
- Ice Beam
- Water Pulse / Ice Shard
- Flash Cannon
I might be wrong about this once the meta gets real play, but I personally think that Vanilluxe is the best weather setter in a vacuum. While its Speed and Rocks-weakness are poor, the nuclear power of Specs Blizzard is undeniable, even shredding through many resists to it. However, as a full archetype, Snow is definitely the worst of the weathers due to its lackluster dedicated abusers. Still, Vanilluxe's role as one of the strongest wallbreakers in the entire tier make it quite worth using, just don't expect to base your team around the weather it sets.

The Abusers
:bw/cryogonal::bw/kyurem-black::bw/beartic:
Cryogonal - The best dedicated Snow abuser. Snow Cloak allows Cryogonal to ignore its Rocks-weakness if Snow is active, making it a good spinner for Snow teams. Plus, Cryogonal now has its Gen 7 stat spread, a new Ice/Dark-typing, and Nasty Plot, making it a pretty good sweeper at the same time.
Kyurem-Black - Kyurem-Black is great in and out of Snow, but Snow allows it to take its power to next level by letting it opt for Blizzard over Ice Beam. The Defense buff from Snow also improves Kyu-B's already great bulk, giving it much more longevity.
Beartic - Despite a number of buffs, Beartic is still pretty unimpressive since it's so slow, but it's worth mentioning since it's the only fully evolved Slush Rush user. However...
Vanillish - Vanillish now has Slush Rush and also got a whopping +1 Speed buff, which allows it to hit 360 Speed, which is extremely important since that lets it outspeed Serperior, who's a menace. Vanillish is quite weak and frail, so it's more of a meme than anything but a fast Blizzard is a fast Blizzard.
The Best
This section briefly goes over some of the best Pokemon in the tier that I've found through my playtesting.

This will mainly focus on stuff that's both very good and have gotten significant changes, so while I won't talk about them, do note that the following Pokemon are all very good as well but either are unchanged or got minor changes:
:landorus-therian::ferrothorn::haxorus::terrakion::jellicent::reuniclus::kyurem-black:

:bw/genesect:
Genesect @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Download
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- U-turn
- Ice Beam
- Bug Buzz
- Flamethrower / Thunder

Genesect @ Leftovers
Ability: Download
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- U-turn
- Bug Buzz
- Flamethrower / Thunder / Ice Beam
- Toxic / Thunder Wave / Thunder / Ice Beam
Genesect has gotten some significant nerfs and yet is a contender for the best Pokemon in the entire tier. Along with the aforementioned Download nerf, Genesect lost all of its Speed-boosting options and, most importantly, its stat spread has been completely changed. It now has the stats it had in the earliest Beta version of Black & White, being 91/90/106/130/106/77. You might notice that these are literally Heatran's stats and it took me an embarrassingly long time to also notice that, I'm not gonna lie to you (this is also probably why, in Beta V1, Genesect had Flash Fire as well). While a significant nerf, since being slow and having a way lower Attack stat makes its patented Scarf U-turns much worse, these stats are still very good, so it's no surprise that Genesect is still great, mainly serving as a bulky pivot for offensive teams that can be quite threatening if it manages to get a SpA boost from Download. Very splashable and effective, and definitely on my radar for further nerfs.

:bw/landorus:
Landorus (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Force / Cloud Nine
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn / Superpower

Landorus (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Force / Cloud Nine
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Earth Power
- Focus Blast
- Grass Knot / Psychic
Landorus lost Sheer Force for Calm Mind and lost 40 BST, having a new statline of 89/115/80/105/70/101. In spite of all that, this thing is still a crazy strong wallbreaker, with Life Orb-boosted EQ hitting like a truck in and out of Sand, U-turn hitting Grass-types that resist it, and having Swords Dance, Stone Edge, and Superpower to mess up other checks to it. It's also still pretty fast by this metagame's standards, so you might find yourself in the scary situation where it outspeeds most of your team. At the very least, it's pretty frail (despite a great defensive typing) and there are a good number of good Pokemon that can outspeed and revenge kill it. Still, this is also on my radar for nerfs.

:bw/serperior:
Serperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Leaf Storm
- Substitute / Giga Drain
- Dragon Pulse
- Leech Seed / Glare

Serperior @ Light Clay
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Leaf Storm
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Glare / Taunt
This Pokemon is like 99% of the reason why Hidden Power is banned. While almost completely incapable of beating Steel-types, Contrary Serperior with Gen 5's 140 BP Leaf Storm is an extremely scary sweeper, especially since it still has a great 113 Speed tier and Glare for possible cheese. Keep your Grass resists healthy at all costs and you should be fine. Also definitely on my nerf radar.

:bw/unfezant:
Unfezant @ Leftovers
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- U-turn
- Toxic

Unfezant (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Iron Head
- Roost
- Swords Dance
Unfezant has had the craziest history of changes while this mod was in development, rivaled only by Tornadus-Therian. This thing has had its stats, typing, and especially abilities changed like 5 times, it's insane. Unfezant is now a Flying/Steel-type with 92 HP, 115 Atk, Brave Bird, and Steel STAB in Iron Head. All of this makes it the quintessential Steel Bird, built specifically to be a splashable answer to strong Dragons like Hydreigon and Haxorus, while also handling the likes of Excadrill, Landorus, and Serperior. Its only huge weakness is that its special bulk is pretty awful, especially since it can't comfortably invest into it since it becomes way worse into SD Lando or Haxorus, so pick its battles carefully.

:bw/keldeo:
Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

Keldeo @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Taunt
Keldeo has gotten a couple stat nerfs, getting its SpA lowered to 119 and its Speed lowered to 97 (the other Musketeers also had their highest stat lowered to 119, but the others have 107 Speed), making it a little easier to wall and much easier to revenge kill. Still, Keldeo is an absolute demon, either smashing things apart with Rain-boosted STAB, or completely turning the tables on its usual counters with Toxic + Protect or Substitute.

:bw/musharna:
Musharna @ Leftovers
Ability: Cloud Nine
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Psychic
- Toxic / Thunder Wave / Heal Bell
- Moonlight
- Teleport
:HyperSharna:
Musharna has gotten 3 huge buffs that make it one of the most splashable defense pivots in the tier, in the earlier discussed Teleport, Cloud Nine, and a +10 HP buff. Cloud Nine + its Psychic typing makes Musharna an easy to use Keldeo answer, while Cloud Nine in general just an extremely useful tool on a defensive Pokemon in a weather war meta, letting Musharna either check or pivot on stuff like Virizion in Sun and Seismitoad in Rain. This also means that its recovery move, Moonlight, never gets weakened by non-Sun weathers. Musharna is still extremely passive, mostly relying on Toxic to deal damage, and gets owned by Toxic itself, as Heal Bell is hard to fit.

:bw/tornadus-therian:
Tornadus-Therian (M) @ Life Orb / Chesto Berry
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- U-turn
- Heat Wave / Focus Blast
- Taunt / Rest

Tornadus-Therian @ Life Orb
Ability: Trace
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Hurricane
- Superpower
- U-turn
- Taunt
Tornadus-T lost Regenerator and has a new stat spread of 79/105/85/105/85/121, making it a bit weaker than before (on the special side, anyway) and having no where near the longevity it used to have. Even so, it still has a good enough SpA and elite Speed, plus the terror that is 120 BP Hurricane, making Torn-T the premier fast revenge killer in the tier. You have to be much more careful in using it, since either it'll die in a couple interactions or you'll be forced to use RestoChesto to keep it healthy, but those drawbacks are well worth it. It's basically the Dragapult of the tier.

:bw/zekrom::bw/reshiram::bw/kyurem-white:
Aside from everything outside of Gen 5 being banned, the only banned Pokemon are Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyurem-White. I currently don't have plans to unban them, as adding 3 more strong Dragons that all easily beat Unfezant and 2/3 beat Ferrothorn/Genesect feels a bit dangerous, considering how good already existent Dragons in KyuB, Hydreigon, and Haxorus are. It's a bit of a shame too, since Reshiram would add a new strong Fire-type to the tier, which it lacks, and Kyurem-White would be a good buff to Snow.

If I were to free these Pokemon, they would likely need some slight movepool nerfs (since all 3, especially Zekrom, have pretty bad movepools by box legendary standards), nerfs to their signature moves, and the following stat spread nerfs I've theorized:
:Zekrom: 100/140/120/100/90/90
:Reshiram: 100/100/90/140/120/90
:Kyurem: 125/120/80/120/80/95 (nerfed for symmetry)
:Kyurem-Black: 125/160/90/110/80/95 (nerfed for symmetry)
:Kyurem-White: 125/110/80/160/90/95

These would be balanced for the most part, but I'd imagine that Kyurem-White would still be pretty broken, as absolutely nothing is gonna wanna take on a mon with 160 SpA and Dragon/Ice/Fire coverage in Gen 5, very likely needing further nerfs that would end up gutting Kyurem and Kyurem-Black in the process. Even still, if this metagame does get enough play, I can definitely see myself freeing these three at some point.
This section is made up of Pokemon I think are cool but aren't quite at the level of the ones in the above section.

:bw/archeops:
Archeops @ Focus Sash
Ability: Defeatist
EVs: 236 Atk / 20 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Hurricane
- Superpower / Earth Power
- Stone Edge / Power Gem / Taunt
- Stealth Rock
(run max spa + timid if you only have special moves)

Archeops @ Choice Specs
Ability: Defeatist
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Power Gem
- Hurricane
- Heat Wave
- U-turn

Archeops @ Choice Band
Ability: Defeatist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Stone Edge
- Superpower
- U-turn
Archeops got a litany of buffs, including Brave Bird, Superpower, Hurricane, and, most importantly, a change to Defeatist. The ability still sucks, but now it only lowers Archeops' Attack at under half of its HP. This opens up potential mixed sets that can hit hard on both sides of the spectrum early and still hit hard specially after getting chipped. Rather expectedly though, I've been the best off with sets that focus on one or the other, since you either have a crazy strong physical breaker for part of the game, or a decently strong special breaker for the whole game. I've also realized that Archeops makes for a great lead, having the fastest Stealth Rock in the tier and the ability to offensively threaten every hazard remover with its STAB and Fighting or Ground coverage.

:bw/watchog:
Watchog @ Choice Band
Ability: Tinted Lens
Happiness: 0
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Frustration
- Drain Punch
- Crunch
I really like Lokix, so I turned Watchog into Lokix. Tinted Lens + STAB Extreme Speed is extremely self-explanatory, makes for the strongest Speed control option in the tier, letting this Route 1 Rodent put the fear of God into mons that have double the stats it does. Oh, and don't worry, it doesn't get Swords Dance anymore, Watchog of all things imitating Arceus would be blasphemy.

:bw/zebstrika:
Zebstrika @ Life Orb
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Wild Charge
- Nature Power
- Flare Blitz
- Volt Switch
Zebstrika got one of the funnier buffs, as I realized that the Unova Pokedex lacks good things faster than both Keldeo (before I nerfed its Speed) and Tornadus-T, so I gave Zebstrika a ton more Speed to get it to 137, comfortably zooming past them both. Along with Nature Power (AKA Earthquake), Zebstrika is basically the Zeraora of the tier, being super fast and fairly strong but still frail. There are a good number of mons that Zeb can't really touch, namely Lando-T, but if you need a Speed control option that's actually fast, Zebstrika is a great choice.

:bw/zorua::bw/zoroark:
Zorua @ Choice Scarf / Eviolite

Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Night Daze / Dark Pulse
- Focus Blast
- Extrasensory
Both Zorua and Zoroark got some pretty neat changes. First, both take a cue from their Hisuian forms and are now Dark/Ghost, which allows Zoroark to fill the role of a fast Ghost-type that Unova lacks, and also being the second thing in the dex with no weaknesses (though Zoroark is still extremely frail). Second, Night Daze has been changed to have the same BP and Accuracy as Dark Pulse, but instead of lowering Accuracy, it now removes weather if it hits, giving weatherless teams some funny and proactive counterplay to opposing weather, but not being strictly better than Dark Pulse so you can still use the latter on weather teams. Lastly, the biggest elephant in the room if you looked at the Sets already, Zorua now gets Imposter, filling the role of a Ditto. You'll usually want to run Scarf as your usual Imposter revenge killer, but since Zorua is Eviolite-compatible, you can go for that as well, though its 40 HP means that you're still pretty frail either way.

:bw/meloetta::bw/meloetta-pirouette:

Meloetta @ Life Orb

It figures that I would add a way to use Meloetta-Pirouette, but instead of the usual route of making it transform on switch-in with an item that we've seen in a bunch of mods, I decided to buff Relic Song itself to make transforming less of a hassle. Relic Song is now only 60 BP and no longer has a sleep chance, but it now has +1 priority and becomes physical if the user's Attack is higher than its SpA. This makes Relic Song a great move in both forms and makes transforming consistent, since the move will almost always go off first, which lets you safely transform in front of the Dark-types (not named Zoroark) that Melo-P is supposed to beat. Plus, you can also just slap a Choice Specs on Melo and use Relic Song as a revenge killing tool due to how strong of a priority move it is. Oh, and Meloetta also gets Rapid Spin now, making for a decent alternative option as a hazard remover.

Other Cool Things
:druddigon:Has gotten an overhaul, now being Dragon/Ground and having recovery in Roost. Makes for a great bulky hazard setter on teams that need a Ground with better longevity than your default options in Excadrill and Lando-T.
:darmanitan-zen:Zen Mode now activates on switch-in, regardless of Darm's HP, allowing you to use Zen Darmanitan as a nice Trick Room breaker.
:garbodor:The other mon that benefits from the buff to Swallow, Garbodor makes for a nice wall with that + slight buffs to both of its defenses + a new ability in Unaware.
:maractus:This got a bunch of buffs, with a new stat spread (75/60/91/106/67/76), Weather Ball, Leaf Storm, and Recover, plus buffed Sand Veil, all things that should technically make it a good Keldeo check for Sand teams or a strong Chlorophyll user as the only one that can beat Ferrothorn without setup or an item slot, but I haven't tested it much.
:sandile:Now has Arena Trap, which is very funny. It mostly sucks but Sash + Counter can actually be very effective at sniping Choiced physical attackers, can trap Gigalith for Sun teams if it gets a free switch-in, and it can even trap defensive Excadrill since it outspeeds it.

Summary of the Mod: I have a wonderful friend who loves RBY mods. I like doing things for my friends. I made an RBY mod for my friend that ports 17 hand-picked Pokemon from newer generations back to an RBY environment. Mostly, this goes by a rule of "what I thought could be cool". Most Pokemon come with a signature move that gives them a distinct niche in the metagame. While all Pokemon were made with competition and balance in mind, this is not a RBY mod that tries in any way to uphold the original RBY OU metagame; in fact, I am quite curious to see how the old cast fares in this mod.

This is a tradebacks metagame.

Competitive Overview:
In the spoiler I'll list every new Pokemon added to the metagame, along with a couple sentences of why they were included and what I expect them to run.

:torterra:
Grass/Ground is a super interesting type in RBY, especially on a Pokemon with great bulk for the format. While it hates taking Blizzards, a lot of Pokemon struggle to hit it for Super-effective damage. Earthquake is locked, as is Amnesia and one Grass STAB (either Wood Hammer or Razor Leaf). Gets a few options for the fourth moveslot; Body Slam, Rock Slide, the other Grass move, Reflect, etc.

:skeledirge:
Before anyone freaks out, Torch Song is only 60 BP in the mod, and being a Fire-type move unfreezes any opponents it hits, so it's not quite as clickable as you might think. While Torch Song is an amazing tool in a vacuum, Skeledirge isn't super optimized to use it, being relatively slow and lacking any meaningful coverage. It gets access to Earthquake, Night Shade, and Sing to fill out its other moveslots besides Torch Song and Fire Blast.

:samurott:
When adding a Water starter, I had to go with my first Pokemon of all time. Samurott notably brings Aqua Cutter and is quick enough to get autocrits with it. It also has access to Blizzard, Swords Dance, Body Slam, and Hyper Beam, along with Submission if you're really desperate to break Chansey or Amnesia Snorlax.

:audino:
Audino is a sidegrade to the tier's many bulky Normals, bringing Amnesia and a lot of coverage options to the table. It also has STAB Body Slam. It however struggles in the stat department, so you'll have to determine whether or not Audino is the right Normal for the job, or if Chansey or Snorlax is still the right pick.

:orbeetle:
Orbeetle makes the most of its base 45 attack to use its signature Bug Buzz to serve as a Psychic-type check. With access to Recover, Psychic, and Reflect as well, it has a surprisingly good toolkit and an acceptable statline. While Bug Buzz isn't strong enough to be spammable, it's juuust enough to make it a Psychic that beats other Psychics.

:hariyama:
Brick Break shatters Reflects and allows Hariyama to break through the tier's Normal and Rock type Pokemon. Hariyama has a fairly deep movepool so I expect a lot of experimentation here. It is, however, held back by poor special bulk and a bad Speed stat, but it is enough to outrun Lax.

:abomasnow:
STAB Blizzard and Wood Hammer in one slot? It's a super threatening STAB combination, but Abomasnow is held back by its stats being a liability and an otherwise awkward movepool. Body Slam, Earthquake, Rock Slide, and Razor Leaf are... not bad, but much less clickable than the big buttons it gets.

:magmortar: :electivire:
While admittedly more filler picks, I think these two evolutions have a shot at being viable, with better stats and a few new moves each (notably, both now get Earthquake).

:dhelmise:
Dhelmise has middle stats and a weird movepool, but it gets moves in the right places for it to be usable on the right team. Anchor Shot is a Ghost-type move, which means that Dhelmise has trouble into Psychics, but it has some tricks up its sleeve to abuse with Anchor Shot, such as Swords Dance SlideQuake or Self-Destruct.

:flygon:
Another option for Dragon-typing and a Ground-type that isn't also a rock. Not a super interesting option, but one I think will see some usage, especially with its fairly deep movepool and good stats that allow it to go mixed.

:volcarona:
Your gut reaction is probably "this is broken". My gut reaction is "you're probably right, but let's test it first"! With access to Fire Blast and Quiver Dance, Volcarona is a threatening lategame win condition. It is not a flawless mon, however, boasting an exploitable 4x weakness and stats that are good but not great. It does get access to Psychic and Bug Buzz, along with Mega Drain, but you're going to have to pick and choose what Pokemon can check you effectively.

:nihilego:
This is probably my favorite Pokemon in the mod due to its incredibly weird setup. It has access to Meteor Beam, which is a two-turn move that boosts the user's Special by 1. This means that Nihilego, a Pokemon with 53 base attack, wants to run a two-turn physical move, which I think is really cool. It has a deep movepool as well, with access to sccreens, Thunderbolt, Psychic, Body Slam, Self-Destruct, and... Wrap. It has a base 103 speed Wrap. Whoopsies :)

:articuno-galar:
Psychic/Flying with great stats. Good chance this thing is broken honestly, but I'm going to give it a chance as well. Freezing Glare, Drill Peck, Hypnosis, Psychic, Recover, Reflect are the most notable moves here.

:zapdos-galar:
A viable Fighting-type with access to Drill Peck, Thunderous Kick, and Hyper Beam. Gets Agility for its fourth slot to serve as a dangerous cleaner. Very little other movepool options of note, but I'm sure someone can find something... right?

:moltres-galar:
The first of two type changes, the now Ghost/Flying type has an amazing defensive typing, good stats, and absolutely no moves to work with it. I think the typing alone gives this mon a niche but I am curious to see what viability it pulls out of a truly horrible movepool.

:diancie:
The other type change, this Pokemon is now Rock/Normal, which means it is a Rock-type that is immune to Body Slam paras. Cool, right? Oh yeah, it also has access to Diamond Storm, Amnesia, and Psychic, so it's a bit of a menace to take down. We will see how broken it ends up being, I think there is a chance the current iteration is too much, but I think it's super interesting and will serve a lot of teams well.

:diancie-mega:
This Pokemon exists and is banned to Ubers. Fun fact, Diancie and Diancie-Mega in this mod have the same base stat totals as Mew and Mewtwo. That's really cool!

Outside of the new additions, from some early testing, I expect a lot of the old top tiers to still be quite good. My early teams all still struggled to drop Tauros, and Snorlax, Chansey, and Starmie were all used multiple times. Who knows, maybe in this meta something like Hypno will rise up as a check to a specific mon--that's half the fun!

Balls Balance (kinda)
I have two small buffs and flavor additions for the Balls metagame. I hope this doesn't disappoint you but the metagame is kinda already good as it is. Balls is already perfection and we shouldn't adjust it too much. Still, here are a few changes.

Watermelon:
+ Leech Seed
Before you ask why the hell am I buffing Watermelon after it's been optimized to hell and needed multiple nerfs, I have to tell you this is purely a flavor addition, and shouldn't affect Watermelon's viability that much. Zxgzxg complained about some balls having shallow, empty movepools and pointing to this ball as an example so blame him.

Dragonball:
+ Vessel of Ruin - Berserk
Now here's an actual buff. I've already discussed why Dragonball has been awkward to use compared to other balls. The poorly distributed stat spread is its biggest issue, giving it both mediocre bulk and terrible speed. Intimidate was meant to help it as a wall but its resistances are much more useful on the special side in this metagame. Thus, I gave it Vessel of Ruin. This should make it much fatter and a good check to strong special attackers including Cabbage, Plasmaball, Drizzle Watermelon, and Drought Basketball. This combined with the movepool buffs I gave it last time should provide it a niche as a bulky support mon and special wall.

Now for the actual big news...

Guns

Is this what you expected as the anticipated Balls DLC!? I bet not! That's right, we have a whole new roster of GUNS as our DLC! Like the iconic balls, it involves 18 monotype guns, ranging from the classic Handgun to the crazy Grenade Launcher to the fantastical Freezegun, we don't just play ball, we play RUSSIAN ROULETTE!! As everyone knows, anyone playing the stupidly broken Balls metagame is bound to get violent, which is why we need these guns to help them out. Will they be a good addition to the meta? Who the hell knows! It's going to be fun either way!

Because Balls is so iconic and perfect as a micro metagame currently, I wasn't sure how to go about Balls DLC. Ruining the 18 monotype combo with additional balls didn't feel right. Yet, introducing a whole new roster might mess up the balance. Yes, there's still balance in this chaotic metagame. So I came up with a solution. Guns are included in a completely seperate tier, meaning you can either play with them as its own seperate metagame or combine them with BALL POWER!! Whatever is more fun and balanced, it's really up to you!

Sadly, because Balls was made as a joke and I purposely made everything broken as shit, it accidentally became a balanced, fun metagame. Now that I'm actually trying, it's difficult to redo the original Balls magic. As a result, you might be disappointed in the power of some of these guns, but let's hope they're fun additions regardless.

Thanks everyone for your participant and enjoyment in this stupid ass solomod, so I hope we can all have fun with this new DLC. A pull request is sent, so it should be on the pet mods showdown server soon. Currently, I do not have any sprites implemented, and I imagine finding some for many of these will be a pain, but I will try my best. And yes, they'll be real images of guns to fit with the balls.

In the meantime, if you're curious about what you're getting to, take another look at the Balls spreadsheet. I included all the upcoming guns beneath the balls. The link is in the bottom of this post. With that out of the way, let's get ready for a whole new metagame!

Spreadsheet

I do not have a whole PET MOD to post, but rather a Fakemon who is supposed to be just added to regular RBY OU. So my PET MOD is just regular gen 1 metagame plus my Fakemon. Here it is :

Name : Monkestruct

Battle Sprite :

1750955891717.png

Pokédex Number : #152 (Kanto regional Pokédex), ??? (National Pokédex)

Pokédex Entry (Pokémon Yellow) :

  1. This Pokemon's lineage diverged from Mew well over 300 million years ago. It is more closely related to humans than to any other Pokémon species.
  2. Monkestruct's body is a catalyst for a mysterious energy. It can fly at light speed and vaporize entire planets with its electric attacks.
Height : 1,6 m

Weight : 56,0 kg

Location : Unavaible (Pokémon Red, Blue, Green, Blue (Jap)), Event (Pokémon Yellow)

Type : Fighting/Electric

Hp : 90

Atk : 85

Def : 70

Spc : 125

Spd : 130

BST : 500

Tier : RBY OU

Role : Fast Mixed Sweeper

Movepool : Acid, Barrier, Bide, Bite, Body Slam, Counter, Double-Edge, Double Team, Earthquake, Focus Energy, High Jump Kick, Hyper Beam, Jump Kick, Karate Chop, Low Kick, Light Screen, Meditate, Mega Punch, Mega Kick, Poison Sting, Psychic, Psy-Wave, Rage, Reflect, Rest, Rock Slide, Seismic Toss, Self Destruct, Skull Bash, Submission, Seismic Toss, Teleport, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Thunderpunch, Thundershock, Thunder Wave, Toxic

Level Up Moves :

Lv 1 : Karate Chop, Thundershock, Bite, Poison Sting

Lv 5 : Focus Energy

Lv 10 : Acid

Lv 15 : Meditate

Lv 20 : Low Kick

Lv 25 : Thunder Wave

Lv 30 : Jump Kick

Lv 35 : Thunderpunch

Lv 40 : Barrier

Lv 45 : Submission

Lv 50 : Reflect, Light Screen

Lv 55 : Seismic Toss

Lv 60 : Mega Punch, Mega Kick

Lv 65 : Thunderbolt

Lv 70 : Hyper Beam

Lv 75 : High Jump Kick

Lv 80 : Thunder

Lv 85 : Self Destruct

But since this is supposed to be a whole PET MOD, I would also add 2 changes

1) Ghost is now supereffective on Psychic. It only effects Lick.

2) Dragon Rage is now a 40 BP damaging move. As a secondary effect, any times it is supposed to deal 1 to 39 HP damage, it will automatically deal 40 HP damage instead.

Theese 2 changes are in practice irrelevant, but they serve as code fixes for original gen 1 errors of Ghost being explicitly told to be supereffective on Psychic yet being uneffective, and no danaging Dragon move existing while Dragon is coded to be supereffective on Dragon. I felt tempted to change the Normal type of Karate Chop and Gust into the actual type of theese moves, but I refrained from it, because Karate Chop would have actually been relevant and I did not want to change things that way.

TIME FOR A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!
With the Tamagotchi Paradise coming this Saturday, so will the updates to Pokémon Let's Go Tamagotchi's database: You should expect the new characters to be on the database before Saturday! But...the update that will bring in the new Tamagotchi introduced in the device...will also bring in a big change.
As we continue to make this metagame appropriate for new players, it is quite clear, especially from how many people even played the metagame, that two types is just too much information. Therefore....
When the new Tamagotchi from the Tamagotchi Paradise enter the metagame, every single Tamagotchi will be becoming single typed! For example, Smartotchi loses his Electric-typing and will become a pure-Dark type. In addition, some Tamagotchi will have their typings changed entirely, keeping the massive number of Normal and Fairy-types in check. Some Tamagotchi will thus be getting new moves added to their movepool to rectify this, and others will have their stats be adjusted. For example, the former teen characters no longer have 255 in one of their stats, Spacytchi, the villain he is, will be FINALLY getting access to Nasty Plot!
So prepare...to enter PARADISE.

*sigh* Boy, I just went through a "Notice my solomod" crisis, and I nearly retired both of my solomods out of it! But, I am NOT retiring them. Though you might have to wait for a while for them to get an update....

I decided to retire Randomized Monothreat+ because it’ll end up being redundant with my next new Solomod Idea right here.

Clause Clans will be turned into my Solomod with modifications on the rulesets so that others only participate for giving clauses and tournaments, and the tournaments will be more standarized. You’ll see more next week.

Name of Mod: Braviary New World
Mascot: Porygon-Z :porygon-z:
Link to Changes: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...hBGU0X-qS21PHHzFl5iZCGp5Q-g/edit?usp=drivesdk
Summary of the Mod: Porting this forward from Gen 8, this is a comprehensive overhaul mod, in which Pokemon, moves, abilities, items, and even game mechanics are updated to be more competitively viable. Its National Dex format, meaning almost all old Pokemon and moves return. There's a particular focus on giving all Pokemon 3 abilities, restricting signature moves to legendary and pseudo-legendary Pokemon, and cloning moves across types for better coverage options. Z-Moves, Tera, and Dynamax are no longer in the game, although Primal Reversion and Megas are back.

Competitive Overview:

  • National Dex format
  • Megas return; Z-moves, Dynamax, and Terastalization are gone
  • Every Pokemon has undergone stat changes; 150+ abilities have been changed, and over 400 moves have been altered
  • There are some pillars that I plan changes around in this mod, they are as follows:
  • Pokemon
    • Pokemon should have roughly equal BSTs. Not every Pokemon can be viable, but I can try to level the playing field by giving certain groups of Pokemon the same BST
    • 2 stage Pokemon and starter Pokemon generally have a 540 BST
    • 3 stage Pokemon generally have a 550 BST
    • Single stage Pokemon can have up to 530 BST
    • Legendary Pokemon generally retain their BST of 570, 580, or 600
    • Every Pokemon should have a fighting chance at a niche; many Pokemon have new types, and I have tried to differentiate the niches of Pokemon with the same typing
  • Signature Moves and Abilities
    • I detest the trend that Gamefreak is following where every new normalPokemon gets its own signature ability/move/stupid crappy gimmick
    • Signature moves for Legendary Pokemon, on the other hand, I like. Let's you play with some intetesting and flavorful mechanics
    • Many (but not all) signature moves and abilities on normal Pokemon have been removed
    • Many signature moves have also had their distribution increased!
    • Every Legendary Pokemon (or each trio/quartet) gets their own/shared signature move and ability
  • Moves
    • Every type should have an 80/90 BP spammable STAB on both sides of the spectrum
    • Many Moves have been cloned to different types, for instance:
      • Rock Blast and similar multi-hit moves have the same accuracy now (90%)
      • There are many new 40 BP priority moves
      • There are new Pursuit clones, Fire Spin clones, and Power-Up Punch clones
      • Many moves are now clones of Night Slash, which is 70 BP and deals 1/8 max HP damage to the target after hitting
      • There are some new Fire Lash clones
      • Iron Head, Waterfall, Dark Pulse, Zen Headbutt, and their new clones no longer flinch the target; instead having a 30% chance to lower the target's Def/SpD
      • Hurricane/Blizzard/Thunder/Meteor Beam are now clones, with 75% accuracy and perfect accuracy in their respective weathers
      • New Future Sight clones!
      • New Flare Blitz clones! (and Flare Blitz deals 1/4 recoil rather than 1/3)
    • Some Moves have been nerfed/reworked as well
      • Hidden Power was not carried forward. I think Pokemon should have to rely on their natural movepools and not cheese through their checks with Hidden Power Ices and Fires
      • Knock Off has many new clones, but it has also been nerfed: It is now a flat 60 BP move with no boost upon removing items. Technician users are eating good however, and physical Dark types have new reliable STAB moves
      • Toxic is still mostly limited to Poison type Pokemon and Pokemon with Poisonous flavor
      • U-turn and Baton Pass have been removed entirely! Pounce is now a U-turn clone limited mostly to Bug types. In return, there are new clones of U-turn in Flame Wheel, Branch Out, and Slipstream. All these moves have 60 BP - what can I say, I love Scizor!
  • Abilities
    • Except for Pokemon like Aegislash and Minior, every normal Pokemon has 3 abilities
    • Legendary Pokemon have 2 abilities, and 1 of them is usually a signature ability
    • Every ability should be useful! It's more interesting when a Pokémon can choose between multiple competitive abilities
    • To this end, many useless abilities have been removed
    • Additional, many cloned abilities have been streamlined into one another or made into clones of more viable abilities
    • Pokemon that previously had the Levitate ability now have intrinsic Levitation - they retain the Ground type immunity, and get 3 new abilities!
  • New Megas, new Regional forms, new Evolutions, and some new Convergent Evolutions!
  • Freeze and Sleep have been replaced by Drowsiness and Frostbite, as per Pokemon Legends Arceus
  • There are many new means of Hazard control - Quick Feet makes the user immune to entry hazards, Tidy Up and Rapid Spin have greater distribution on viable Pokemon, and new moves such as Aggregate and Terraform remove entry hazards
  • Previously useless field effects such as Mist, Embargo, Heal Block, and Lucky Chant have been reworked to be more viable
  • The type chart has been slightly modified
    • Ice type Pokemon now resist Fairy, Flying, and Normal type attacks
    • Rock type Pokemon now resist Ghost type attacks
    • Fairy type Pokemon are now weak to Psychic type attacks

While many of the ideas are original, I have taken heavy inspiration from such Pet Mods as the OU Theorymon Project, CFM, Sylvemons + its successor, G-Luke's Ideal World, r/stunfisk's Theorymon Thursday posts and other such broad overhaul Pet Mods. I have attempted to credit ideas to the originators, and especially try to give credit to artists from across the Internet.

Update on Braviary New World, I've made a damage calculator for this mod in Google Sheets for anyone to play around with! Type chart changes, Pokemon, move, ability, and item changes/additions are all in the sheet. To edit and play around in it, you can just make a copy and plug in whatever Pokemon and moves you want into the calculator. It's still a work-in-progress, as it cannot calculate OHKO / 2+HKO chances, only calculating damage from a single attack for now.

Link to BNW Damage Calculator

I'm sure there are some bugs with it that I haven't caught, but for now, these are the primary issues with the calculator that I am aware of:

Unaware now takes Speed Boosts into account for Electro Ball and Thunder Cage
Status Conditions apply directly to stat and not as damage formula modifiers

Ability Shield is too hard to code
Ring Target is too hard to code
Full Metal Flare does not override Wonder Guard
Unseen Fist, Long Reach, and Embargo moves do not ignore Power Binder
Natural Gift not coded
Magician not codeable
Abilities like Intimidate or Prism Armor do not Auto set stat stage changes
Hazards, Leech Seed, and other checkboxes for residual damage are useless atm, given that it can only calculate damage from a single attack

woomod
mascot :chi-yu:

after trying my hardest at doing a fakemon region solomod i thought hm this ts is kinda ass so I started going on a two step mons pill and asked people to give me custom element concepts to build stuff around

eventually i started doing shit by myself tho
and what I was doing was very smart but also very dangerous
so
this was the result
Spreadsheet
My Server
Banlist: Eviolite, Light Ball, Terastalization

a couple of gems from my solomod woomod
:sv/vulpix:
Vulpix @ Choice Band
Ability: Perseverance
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- V-create
- Iron Tail
- Toxic
- Healing Wish

if this mon didnt have sure crit v create in turn 2 itd be awful but it does have it and also has 200 speed so it's a Gem. Perseverance makes it so Vulpix gets one crit rate boost for each stat drop it gets. As V-Create lowers 3 stats You Can See Where I'm Going With That.

:sv/shuppet:
Shuppet @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Phantom Chute
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Poltergeist
- Protect / Gunk Shot
- Wish
- Teleport

run Gunk Shot if you are too scared of being mogged by jigglypuff but this is the perfect wish passer. Phantom Chute makes it so the replacement will be immune to hazards on switch-in so with a negative prio pivot you guarantee a heal to any important mon you want.

:sv/anorith:
Anorith @ Focus Sash
Ability: LAST CALL
Tera Type: Rock
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Axe
- Rapid Spin / Explosion
- Knock Off / Explosion
- Screech / Metal Sound / Toxic / Explosion / Copycat

If you want to run Copycat in last slot definitely get Explosion somewhere else. Anorith is a hazard setter lead that upon death uses its last moveslot. Can do funny shit with Explosion or use screech/metal sound to immediately position a good breaker in.

:sv/elgyem:
Elgyem @ Expert Belt
Ability: Pure Power
Tera Type: Psychic
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Duoshock
- Return
- Recover

THE 2 moveslot mon. Elgyem is a fun option but it's also coverageless. If you want to hit Qwilfish or Krokorok your best shot would be Return, and this mon has nothing to beat Bronzor. However, in most of the cases, you guarantee a super-effective STAB move after Duoshock makes the opponent Fighting-type, or at least a neutral hit against mons like Pikachu, Nymble and opposing Elgyem. mogged by bronzor basically

:sv/toxel: (
Fighting.png
)
Toxel-Hisui @ Leftovers / Rocky Helmet / Safety Goggles
Ability: Forbidden Juice
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Drain Punch
- Nuzzle / Gunk Shot
- Spikes / Stealth Rock
- Slack Off

Toxel is our Blissey. But less passive. It gets Nuzzle hazards recovery and Drain Punch STAB, but if you want desperately a way to beat Morelull you can run Goggles Gunk Shot asw.

:sv/farfetch'd: (
Flying.png
)
Farfetch’d @ Hearthflame Mask / Wellspring Mask / Cornerstone Mask / Stormbringer Mask / Leek
Ability: Masquerade
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Brave Bird
- Ivy Cudgel
- Close Combat / Roost

Farfetch'd can get any of the Fire, Water, Rock, Electric and Grass types with its new ability Masquerade, making it a reliable breaker with STAB Ivy Cudgel but also having a really important rocks weakness (which you can circumvent with Shuppet or get a spinner/defogger in your team like Bronzor or Wailmer). Definitely really interesting!

there's a whole lot of other mons but I got bored expect me to add stuff later i suppose

MODERN GEN 2 THE SEQUEL: JUST THE BIRDS
View attachment 651307

So many people tell me how much they love MG2, they love birds, and they love ADV: but everyone HATES MG3. My solution combines all these great aspects while getting rid of the MG3 part of it. Introducing, Modern Gen 2 the Sequel: Just the Birds, also known as MG2TS:JTB (I'm sure it will catch on very well.)

I get ALOT of questions for this tier so I made a Q/A section because I get asked these alot because of how popular the tier is and I just wanted to answer them here.

Q: What Pokemon are allowed in MG2TS:JTB? (and yes they usually use the abbreviation because of its ease)
A: Bird Pokemon

Q: What qualifies as a bird?
A: A warm-blooded egg-laying vertebrate distinguished by the possession of feathers, wings, and a beak. As there are plenty of NOT REAL THINGS, I've done my best to identify what is and is not a bird. This also means NO BATS AND NO INSECTS. NO BEEDRILL, NO GLISCOR, JUST BIRDS.

Q: Is this played in Generation 2 or Generation 3
A: This is played in the sequel to Generation 2, sometimes, but less commonly referred to, as Generation 3.

Q: Why?
A: I took a sick day from work and got bored + bird mons are great + old gen tier that works better in Gen3 I think than Gen2.

Q: Wow, this seems great, how can I play?
A: Using the challenge command below

Q: Why should I play it?
A: Well not only is it fun, but it has plenty of resources like a VR, an active discord found here, and a speed tier chart below! Top level Smogon Premier League players have also given it a shot as seen here!

Retiring Just the Birds. This remains the worst metagame that I have ever played. Retiring it to metaphorically pass the torch of "worst metagame oat" on to Woomod...

Ok I have been wanting to delete the JTB cord so I'm posting all the replays in here so they will not be lost to time.

33 Valuemons
33 Valuemons is a tier based around Generation 5 mechanics, but with mons from gens 1-4. You can use ANY pokemon, but you have a set budget to "purchase" your team from (similar to draft), so you need to be careful about what you buy. There are many changes from gen 5 to the specific Pokemon, to buff and nerf certain Pokemon. The full changes, pricing and more can be found on the document below.
