Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Adamant Haryama @ flame orm
Guts/ 252 HP 252 Attack
Belly drum
Bullet punch
Mach punch
Fake out.

372 X 4 = 1488
1488 X 1.5 = 2232 Thats too much attack.

That may be too much attack but it will never be able to use it with that set.
First turn you fake out and they flinch, you take burn damage.
Second turn you belly drum, lose half of your HP, they attack and you take burn damage.
Most likely there won't even be a third turn after all that self inflicted damage, you have lost 75% of your HP and any attack will finish you.

Now for my question:
To get Volt tackle on a pichu, does it matter if the male parent that is holding the lich ball it is not a pikachu? let's say I use a male togekiss with light ball and a female pikachu with everstone, do the babies get volt tackle?

im about to get an action replay for cloning pokemon i want to trade. would it be wise to also get a new copy of pokemon pearl/diamond to use it on due to the risks involved? if not, does anyone have a safe duplicating code that they've tested?

thanks heaps :)

I've been hearing the terms competitive and online battling used seperately recently. Is there a difference between the two? Is it like, competitive (eg shoddy) and online (eg wifi)?

Also, is there a difference (like play-wise, strategy wise) between Shoddy and Wifi? I assume that Wifi would be slightly more leniant when it comes to EVs and IVs, as it's obviously much harder to get them perfect.

What is the most effective place to EV train:
a) Attack
b) Special Attack
c) Speed?

a) I combo with Speed EV training (covered in c), otherwise I try for Bidoofs or use the drugs.

b) Old Chateu place

c) Fisherman Andrew (the guy with 6 Magikarps whose WEST of Eterna City) with the Power Anklet (the item for Speed). Total, you get 60 EV's each battle.

Does a Choice user need much hp? I have like 12 hp IV and 25+ defs, should I breed for better? I'm trying, but can't seem to get over 20...

Yes, that is true, alas it is very hard to use this set without dying. So it doesn't entirely make it feasible, You could Durm-Pass to Hairyama, in TR Conditions alas too much set up in the face of a Whiriwinder

Cloning is a staple part of the breeding community and it does not make the pokemon illegit but I do not know the code

More lenient towards IV's eys but not as much to EV's, I thinik the difference comes in the terms of fighting general people which is online where competitive is where they focus on the IV's/EVs e.t.c

This belongs on the look what I bred thread, and the answer is no, HP is too low for salamence

I've been thinking of a set for Zapdos with Sleeptalk, Thunderbolt, HP Ice, and Roost. If I use sleeptalk and it chooses roost will it still heal itself regularly?

@RedSP: Yes, Sleeptalk works fine with Roost and all other recovery moves. Though why you would make a sleeptalker set without rest is beyond me...

So, I've been looking around on the web for some quicker EV Training codes. I found one that allows you to set the value of how many EVs each vitamin gives you. So for example you can set it so that one Protein gives you 252 Attack EVS. So my question is, if I EV train my Pokemon with this method, is it still legit, and will it be accepted on Smogon?

I wouldnt say so. Ev training is so simple in these games, but I guess most wouldnt mind.

Evolve it and it will have a 50% chance to change.

Actually, the way it works is your ability is in either slot one or two,if it's in slot one,it stays the same in D/P,if it's in slot two,it gets Magic Gaurd

So it's not something I can change by making clones or resetting my game? And I guess I'm not going to be able to figure it out when I'm breeding, before I invest 88 BP (which takes freaking forever to get) into the thing?
