That's true. Platinum would be before than GSC, so it could be Electric at first, but after travelling to Sinnoh, he found steel type. (Steelix is everywhere in Sinnoh, and it's the first fully evolved by a trade in the game...) It would play as Electric in Platinum, but when she came to Johto, she changed to Steel.

Woah. I guess that means Jasmine is at least 80% likely to get a new job as Gym Leader in Sinnoh then. Sunnyshore even has a lighthouse, so it'll be almost like home for her.

D/P and G/S/C and perhaps Emerald take place three years after R/B/Y, R/S and FR/LG. Makes you wonder why there are two Jasmine's at the same time. As soon as she lost in Johto she must have taken a boat to Sunnyshore extremely fast. But then she rambles on in Sunnyshore about her "travels" and how she was inspired by seeing trainers have fun with their Pokemon. Kinda hard to do on a boat in a few days. But ignoring the messed-up Pokemon timeline, she seems most likely to get the job.

150/120/100/120/100/90 sounds like a good prediction for the new forms stats.

I'd say they are at the same timeline (alternative dimensions...?), as it would be quite strange to have Archie/Maxie trying to wake up Kyogre/Groudon once again, after they realized in R/S they wouldn't be able to control the weather beasts.

All I can say is that the legendaries and underground wifi don't make me want to buy Platinum ...I will be looking for johto. ._.
 
lol yeah, fair enough. Great! its good to know there is the slight possibility of more new pokemon in the future...
 
It certainly seems like Nintendo will make more Pokemon games because they do bring in a lot of money. Also, I've heard that Pokemon is the second best selling game series, only behind Mario games. If this is true why would they not make another one? They didn't stop the Mario series.
 
Are a lot of you guys planning on getting Pokemon Platinum? I might considering since there is something like the Battle Frontier in it, also a little difference in the story.
 
I think I'm going to buy platinum for two reasons.

1) Soft reseting on Lugia/ Ho-oh

2) Wifi Battle Frontier, that was one of the best things pokemon has ever done ingame. Wifi would only make it better.
 
Does anybody know the difference between Giratina's Origin and Another Formes? (I know that forme is grammatically inncorrect, but that is the proper spelling)

Ha, another one who believes they'll put Johto as the after-E4 continent :D


They'll probably only return with Navel Rock, though. Or we'll have to wait for a possible GS remake.
 
Oh no I'm fairly sure there won't be any Johto! I agree with what Arael says, some sort of Island/Navel Rock kinda thing. Didn't I read somewhere that it would be possible to do that? Was that disproven.

Did it ever occur to you that information from anywhere OTHER than this thread might be applicable? This thread is largely speculative as well. Big LOL to you sir.

Still I think most people on Smogon are interested in what the new games will offer that affects the metagame, so if the only way to get the new Shaymin form (if it exists) and Regigigas, then I likely will be purchasing it.
 
If there isnt an IV man like there was in Emerald I really see no point in purchasing this game.

Seriously the IV man made IV checking so easy...for those who dont have AR anyways.
 
I don't think Johto will be in this game at all, barring a few cameos/bigger Jasmine involvement. That would make little sense, they'd have to nerf Johto even harder than they did Kanto in GSC, that would just be silly considering that rumors have already flown about regarding a GS remake (which seems inevitable).
