I'm pulling for the Cardinals, but I think the Steelers defense will be too much for them. Then again, since everyone is counting the Cardinals out yet again, they will win in miraculous and dominating fashion. Something like the 55-10 49ers-Broncos Superbowl or something.

cards will win either afc team would have lost to the nfc team that won. i could just feel that the nfc teams were fighting to go to the super bowl but to the afc teams it looked like they thought it was the super bowl. pitt are gonna underestimate the very hot cards and lose ^_^

Kurt Warner =/= Joe Montana.

dude you do not underestimate ANYONE when you are in the super bowl. if the lions were to make it, the afc team would study the hell out of them and be prepared. this is the super bowl. you don't overlook anything.

anyway i'm going to cry if the steelers lose to the CARDINALS. i mean i wanted the cardinals to make it because of how unlucky they are but...i also didn't want to play the eagles again lol.

...and there goes Donovan's job in Philly. :P

Ummmm.... how?

28/47, 375 yards 3 TD, 1 INT, 35 rush yards, 97.4 QB rating.

With those number, you CAN'T blame McNabb for the team's loss! He had a good game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's just Warner had a postseason career game against a defense that couldn't stop Fitzgerald!

I will make my superbowl pick later. The whole league slept on the Cardinals, playing in a weak division, clinching early, tanking at the end of the season, one of the worst running teams in the league, and an average defense. Well, the defense has stepped-up, Edgerrian James is doing just enough to establish a running game (Cardinals had over 100 rushing yards against the Eagles!), and Fitzgerald is looking like Jerry Rice in the postseason! So we can't sleep on them at all! Warner is looking like the Warner of 10 years ago!

If the Steelers win, I'm going to want to hurt stuff really badly but not actually get to do anything and just be really AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH!

Warner's play has just been spectacular in the postseason too, both then and now. His postseason passer rating is second only to Bart Starr's, and beating out Montana's.

Although people will probably think of the trick plays and him lighting up the first half of Sunday's game, I think the best part of Warner's performance was that final drive. He went 6 for 6 on throws to make the TD and conversion. Also notable was Hightower on that drive, converting the 4th and 2, and then reaching the end zone. If the team keeps playing like that, they'll bring home the Lombardi.

Also despite Boldin's arguments with Haley after being benched, I'm expecting Boldin to be the most important factor in the SB offense.

Kurt Warner plays better in the postseason than Joe Montana did, and he's the best QB against blitzing defenses.
3 Super Bowl MVPs and 4 Super Bowl wins disagree with you there...granted, I'm not saying Warner is bad, but he's...well...ok? Screw passer rating, don't mean much if you don't win Super Bowls...or make it to the playoffs for that matter.

Kurt's made it to the playoffs 4 of the 5 times he's been in more than 10 games, and has the 3rd best postseason winning % of QBs that have started in more than 1 postseason. He may not have the track record that Montana has, partially because of his late start and injuries, but he's still a great QB could definitely make a case for top 20 all-time, and possibly top 10.

Also a side note Joe Montana recently stated in an interview that Warner is a shoo-in for Hall of Fame, and that was before his 4 TD performance Sunday.

Well, like I said, Warner isn't bad, just not as good...

Link? I wanna see, lol.

I think he's good enough to be (I can't name that many that I'm sure are better), he hasn't had enough GREAT years to convince everyone, but he could at least make a case for top 20, and could probably solidify himself near the top 10 if he can have 1-2 more good years with the Cards. His ability in the big games alone makes me think he's near that level, considering in contrast how players like Favre, Marino, Manning, etc have all dropped off in their playoff performances, while Kurt has generally taken his game to a better level.

Also about the interviews.

Warner has had 5 good years. The rest have been mediocre.

It works against him that he was a terrible backup all those years, plus the fact that he didn't start playing until he was so old. If he wins the SB, I'd think about it. If he has another amazing year next year, I'd think about it. Otherwise he's just ready for the Hall of Really Good.

Yeah, I'd say I'm on the fence about Warner as well just because of all those poor years he had. If he can take another historically doormat team to a Lombardi though, I'd definitely rethink my stance.

Despite his mediocre years when he sat as an injured backup, he still has the 3rd highest career passer rating, 2nd highest YPA of the modern era, is the second most accurate passer in history, and has the 3rd most 300 yard games with the highest % of those games.

I would compare Larry Fitzgerald more to Lynn Swann than Jerry Rice. Fitzgerald has those amazing acrobatic catches that made Swann famous. He's gonna be a pain in the ass to defend against, even having the league's #1 pass D. Polamalu vs Fitzgerald is the matchup of the year.

I'm gonna take Steelers over the Cards 31-14. Defense will get it done. Fitzgerald will have over 100 yards receiving, but the Steelers run game will have a good day. Parker breaks 100 and the Steelers roll early.
