Is the process of forcing a shiny with your SID considered legit?

EG, if you use it to get a shiny Pokemon, is that Pokemon legit?

Yeah, I'm aware it is legit, as in your game cartridge actually created it, but the methods of finding it weren't exactly legit =P

But, judging by your answer, it is an acceptable way to breed?

That's unfortunate =P Seems like an extremely lame way to get a shiny =) I guess you already need to have found a shiny to use it, hehe. Too bad the only one I have is a hatched Feebas! =p

I posted an RMT 2 days ago, and it didn't get any rates, so I bumped it yesterday. Still nothing, as it is repeatedly pushed to the second page. I am not allowed to bump again, correct?

... Funny thing is, it got rated 4 stars somehow...

Does anyone know how to find your secret ID in diamond without an AR?
I hear you need someone else to help, so if anyone would be willing to do this, great.

If you have a naturally caught shiny (not chained), you can use some mathmatic process to narrow it down to 8 possible SIDs. Otherwise, you'll have to trade a pokemon to somebody with Pokesav for them to check. See this post if you would like some help, though if that doesn't work you'll need to ask somebody else in the Simple Request thread.

I just got a copy of Emerald (for $40 ~_~) and am looking forward to some RNG abuse. A few questions:

1) You just take the frame listing, divide by 60, and that's the waiting period to press A? (ignoring delay and inaccuracies)
2) When do the frames start? When should I start the countdown timer? The moment the game resets?
3) If I palpark something from the game, will it still have my Emerald SID (meaning Pokesav can check it)?

Using X-Act's IV to PID applet I input the IVs I get from metalkid from a randomly encountered shiny I caught and Rare Candied to 100 and got "No possibilities". Is it possible I'm doing something wrong?

EDIT: May as well help out whilst I'm here.

1. More or less, I might dig up a link for it but Mingot's program is sensational and has all the times there anyway.
2. They start as soon as the game starts up i.e. When you soft reset it's as soon as you press that fourth button.
3. Yes (I'm 99.9% sure of this one)

I want Deoxys-A to know Hidden Power Fire, but it reduces its Attack, Special Attack, and Speed slightly. Anyone know an IV combination that would lower its defenses instead?

The only thing that could be wrong is that you might have some EVs you're unaware of, or the IV calculator is wrong. Try reducing the EVs if you can or double check on another calculator.

There isn't one.

GAH! I can't seem to figure out a fast enough counter for the new Rotom formes! Would a Choice Band Adamant Scizor OHKO with Pursuit? Although the Rotom-H formes carry Overheat...so I really need some help. Any ideas?

I don't know about OHKO...I would think that Weavile could outspeed, trap, and OHKO with Pursuit because their HP is fairly poor, and by extension so could Scizor.

But I can't run the calculations because Metalkid's calculator doesn't do Platinum.

Rotom only has 86 Base Speed. Defensive variations (which is a good chunk of them) don't even invest much in speed (just enough to beat Adamant Tyranitar).

Code:
Adamant Scizor:
Choice Band Pursuit vs. 0/0 Rotom (not switching): 84.65% - 100.41%
Choice Band Pursuit vs. 0/0 Rotom (switching): 112.86% - 132.78%
Choice Band Pursuit vs. 252/168 Bold Rotom (not switching): 51.97% - 61.84%
Choice Band Pursuit vs. 252/168 Bold Rotom (switching): 69.74% - 82.24%

Adamant Tyranitar:
Choice Band Pursuit vs. 0/0 Rotom (not switching): 87.14% - 102.90%
Choice Band Pursuit vs. 0/0 Rotom (switching): 172.61% - 204.15%
Choice Band Pursuit vs. 252/168 Bold Rotom (not switching): 53.95% - 63.82%
Choice Band Pursuit vs. 252/168 Bold Rotom (switching): 106.58% - 126.32%

Adamant Weavile:
Choice Band Pursuit vs. 0/0 Rotom (not switching): 79.67% - 94.61%
Choice Band Pursuit vs. 0/0 Rotom (switching): 159.34% - 187.55%
Choice Band Pursuit vs. 252/168 Bold Rotom (not switching): 50.00% - 59.21%
Choice Band Pursuit vs. 252/168 Bold Rotom (switching): 98.68% - 116.45%

Timid Gengar:
Shadow Ball vs. 0/0 Rotom: 102.90% - 121.99%
Shadow Ball vs. 252/0 Rotom: 81.58% - 96.71%

Yes, Rotom is quite the nuisance and is a pain to get rid of. Physical attackers have to worry about Wil 'o' Wisp too as it will halve your attack. You can always try Gengar for fast and consistant damage, though you'll need some prior damage to ensure the KO and you can't switch into Shadow Ball.

All of the Pokémon in the Trophy Garden have an equal chance of appearing, right? I've been SRing for well over an hour now and he's mentioned every single Pokémon numerous times except Ditto, whom he has not mentioned once and happens to be who I'm looking for. I know that Pokémon stay 2 days there, so even if I didn't talk to him yesterday, is it possible that Ditto is still in there from then and that's why he hasn't mentioned it? I would think that there would still be a Pokémon in there from yesterday even if I didn't talk to him then. I could "test" this, but even if I was 100% sure he was in there, he's still pretty rare, right?

On another topic, when are the legendary birds' IVs/natures generated? I would assume it would be when Oak first tells you about them, but I've heard some people say that it's at the start of the game.

Yeah, it's an equal probability for all. If you're going to see if he's in the Garden, there's a 5% encounter rate. If you don't want to do that then just pass a few days just to be certain he's not (set the clock to 23:59 and load the game, pass over to midnight, save, repeat as necessary). I'm assuming you have the national dex, but if not you need it.

The birds' natures/IVs are set when you talk to Professor Oak.

Can Psych Up be used on a pokemon at any time, or only on the turn in which it's boosting? Thanks in advance.

Anytime.
