Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Re-posting since I think I got skipped. Unless Omega's post was for me =P (if so then I'm even more confused xD)

You don't have to follow jonny's guide exactly. Experiment, we did.

I synch my ds to a clock, turn off and put the game in. Turn on and wait till it hits 30 seconds to hit start. For me, I get it to be 46 seconds at the continue screen, and thus use that for the seconds I enter in RNG reporter. That should answer your question hopefully.

munchlax: thanks for answering a question.

I use AR to check IVs. IMO, it makes the timing harder (it sucks), but hatching and Rare Candying isn't for me.

My trials indicate that the AR time from pressing 'START' on the AR to Frame 1 is ~6 seconds. So, if you want to start at 01:00, press start on your AR at about 00:54.

Suggest strongly that you look for frames on 1:06 and press start at 1:00, then. RNG Reporter has some "problems" with adjacent screen when you're working on :00 spreads. It doesn't crash like it once did, but it won't give you 0:59, either.

Really? Well, that makes sense, actually. I'll remember that, thanks.

ok, i'm getting good delays and consistent seconds now. however, my offset is no longer the same due to saving after the journal. is the best way to find my offset again (6) just to continue saving at different times in front of the daycare man and hope it pops up again?

yes, this step is boring but effective. just save, check offset and if wrong, try again.

An even better method: save that so that you have the journal popping up no matter what. This will increase your offset but it will still be consistent. Once you've figure out that offset (it's +2 for every Pokemon obtained on the journal page), then all you have to do is aim for spreads with that offset. And you won't have to keep resaving when you change dates.

Fuck! I had a 78 tap, 10 coin flip shiny adamant male abaility 1 frame and somehow I either screwed it up or RNGReporter didn't calculate in the switch over to the Happiness checker. It went over by 12 frames. ARGHHHHH!!!!!!

I used this method the other day, and managed to get it right first time, and got a shiny turtwig, i SR'd right away, as it was just for me to see if i could get it right.

I'll probably use this method to put together an in-game team that i can use to capture shinies in the wild, rather than just using it to get every breedable shiny possible.

thanks for the advice, i think i may try this. i'm having an awful time finding that 6 offset again.

Ok, currently using the RNG to get natures with good IV parents, just wandering, can you work out the IVs from the PID alone. I understand almost everything from x-acts (i think) article, except from where the IV bits come in, so i can get the nature, and gender, but where does the IV part come in. So can someone give me an example starting with a PID (anything) and show working to getting the IVs, i dont see where the IVs are in the PID.

Ie, if the PID is E81AEC73, is it possible to work out IVs, and in which cell are they in.

Was finally able to lock into a Shiny Adamant Male Sniper Horsea. Boy that's a mouthful. Am now SRing for IVs. Fingers crossed I hit my target spread sooner rather than later. Funnily enough I'm now getting only odd delays, when last time I was getting only evens. Who knows why *shrug* =|

My delays change when i have a gba game in the slot, even without one, odd with. If you're looking for a certain spread that should help. Off to try for my porygon....again.

Mine changes like this also, but even with one in, odd without. Destroyer's changes every time he saves, it switches to the other one. They may be what yours does.

Yeah mine is changing a lot. Sometime I get odd, sometime even but it might be because I'm saving to try and change my offset due to the NPC's position.

In the method J pokemon, it says that the regis need confirm. Does it mean if it needs confirmation if it works on method J, or if they can be shiny? I just caught a shiny Regirock in the cave accesible with the TRU Regigigas

it means it needs confirmation if it is done by method J or method 1. Cresselia and mespirit is method 1, while all the other legends are J, we just need confirmation on which one the regis are, but it should be J.

Wow, I really have to thank everyone who worked hard on making RNG manipulation possible in DPPt! That being said, I do have a simple question.

Which parent is regarded A or B in-game? Is there a way to tell from the poketech application (like, is parent A on the left side, or something to that effect)? Is parent A the first parent you deposit? I believe this is the case, but I'd still like to make sure. Thank you in advance!

So does this work on D/P as well as Pt? I get the feeling it does, but after having skimread the first 60 or so pages I didn't notice any explicit confirmation. If so, I'd best get to work on some awesome shiny eggmove Croagunk, Lapras, Heracross, Yanma etc eggs.

Oh yeah, and in case anyone hasn't noticed, SPPf have kind of worked out this stuff. And when I say 'kind of', I mean they've taken possibly the least useful mechanic that's been found from this research and are acting like it's awesome news. They're exploiting what they call the "Masuda Method", which is basically just the 1/2063 shiny chance from foreign parents. Funny thing is, Masuda actually mentioned the trick literally years ago and only now are people parading it as a new mechanic.

Why would you skim the early pages? Yes, it works for D/P. The title says so, the first post, and other posts in the last 10 pages.

i think this is the case, every time i've done it the one i deposited first was parent A.
