HGSS Megaspeculation Thread

Ive read in articles about all four regions being in there, it's not confirmed though.
...What? These are remakes of Gold and Silver. Why would they not take place in the same time as the original Gold and Silver? For the same reason, Kanto is all but guaranteed to be there.
That's just a false rumor going around; someone though that was what someone was saying on Pokemon Sunday, but it was confirmed that that was wrong, and no such thing was said. No way they would put all four regions into the games, as that would really mess with the levels. Plus, these are GS remakes, which have nothing to do with Hoenn or Sinnoh, so there's no reason to include them. And, most importantly of all, that would mean less money for Game Freak than if they simply release RS and DP remakes sometime in the future, as the series progresses. Thus, there's no way that they'll do that.
If this was true though, I wouldn't be surprised if they made it a mini SD DSi expansion. Which for me would pretty much be the nail in the coffin to buy a DSi.
Do you guys they think will add new moves and changes to the original GSC Pokemon?

So, even though I was wrong about the whole XD thing and therefore am an official dumgass of Smogon for saying so - and yes, one may sig that - I'm rather sorrowed over GSDS. Why?
Because compared to the originals, they simply lack the same utter 'holy shit, there's actual active TIME!? And radio?' that GSGBC had.

I'm surprised people don't think Kanto will be in the game. Kanto will be in. There would be tremendous backlash if there wasn't. Reviewers WOULD call them out on it and it would definitely hurt game sales. Kanto was the largest the game gets the love it does.
And I honestly don't think Game Freak is going to worry about the timeline as much as you guys are.

And I think the timeline shouldn't be a problem at all. Why can't it be like Emerald which takes place a few years after RSE? For example... Pryce might not be the Gym Leader anymore (since he dies or something) and his daughter or son takes his place.
And I think Jasmine will get a very large role in the game since she appears in DPPt...
Now that I think about it... there are a lot of GSC references in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum (I knew this before, but I found more). :P
Because it's a remake, and not a sequel, so no time would have passed. Plus, since it's a remake, I really would want to see people like Pryce again; I don't want some completely new set of gym leaders or some such and have absolutely no clue what's going on. If this was a sequel to GS, as GSC were to RBGY, then it would be fine, and I wouldn't care a bit if they shifted it up like that. But it's not, so the leaders and such should be exactly the same as they were in GSC (sans perhaps some Pokemon changes and such of course, but the acutal leaders staying the same), just as the leaders were kept the same in FR/LG.
Now, this isn't to say it's impossible. It's true that Game Freak could do something like getting rid of Pryce. But since these are remakes, and are being referred to as such, and not sequels, it's immensely unlikely that they will make any such changes.
I guess so... but there should still be Pokemon changes and stuff. Do you think apricots will come back?

Indeed. I'm fully expecting their Pokemon to change; just not the leaders themselves or anything like that.
Not sure about Apricorns, but probably. I'm really unsure if they'll keep things like the Heavy Ball though, but I'm currently leaning towards no.

Do you guys think that the new EVOs will be available? Since Murkrow/ Yanma/ Electabuzz/ Magmar/ Lickitung/ Eevee/ Togetic/ Piloswine/ Gligar/ Sneasel/ Aipom/ any others I forgot got new EVOs, and their all in Johto, will their news evolutions be in the game? BEFORE National Dex?
I think they should add the new evos... so many Johto Pokemon got evolutions. Killed them all. ;-;
@Wishy. I dunno and I don't give a hoot really. They do teach some pokemon weird moves though (sloking flamethrower!?). Glaceon has got a funny tail and he's made of ice, and ice kind of glows in the sun >_>

Do you think Pokemon will still be in the same routes they were in? What will happen to Jasmine and her story?
You completely misunderstood what he asked. He did not mean new evolutions as in new Pokemon that weren't even in D/P/Pt. He meant new evolutions as in Ambipom, Gliscor, and Mamoswine. Evolutions of G/S/C Pokemon that were introduced in D/P but were not in the original G/S/C.
I think they will be included, but most likely after beating the Elite Four and obtaining the National Pokedex.
Jasmine?, she will be the same story than GSC, like Amphy needs the medicine etc just the same as always
Seriously i don't think Jasmine will play a major role on this game, i doubt she talks about Sinnoh and if she does it will be just two lines or something -_-
I'm convinced now the Sevii Islands will be left out and besides Johto will get a little expansion, like just were Cianwood is, that land looks mysterious and expandable!
About Johto it needs a lot of improvement and i'm sure it will get this revamp (New Bark town looks nice). But i guess Kanto will get the same treatment, they won't add Kanto again just like that, i want to believe both regions will be decent to play through (focused on Johto of course).

If you use Fire red/Leaf green as evidence, then yes.
Also I would highly doubt there will be "new" evolutions like gliscor before the national dex.
I do not like this though, and would like the game to be more expansive and interesting. Especially when it comes to new evolutions and the story (or lack of one in G/S/C's case).
I think they could prevent certain evolutions from happening. Ex. Gligar -> Gliscor and Sneasel -> Weaville by removing the evolution items... but how would they stop evolutions like Piloswine -> Mamoswine? D:
