Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I haven't notice this, I got my ditto and other pokemon just as easy. I did notice the delays were lower.

;_;

It's a flashing red light to me when I can get my target seed on the first try, my very first time attempting Method J abuse, but once I try it on Platinum (after calibrating on that game, mind you) I can't hit my mode delay to save my life. Especially when I got 17/607 probably like 20 times in calibration, and now I can't get it at all.

Just thought there might be some kind of tip. Oh well, back to the frustration...

Edit: OmegaDonut, I did calibrate.

(For method 1/J) Has anyone else noticed that a target delay on Platinum is significantly more difficult to hit than those in D/P? Are there any suggestions for this? It's so frustrating when I can't even check to see what delay I actually hit...

The startup screen times are different for DP than Platinum. You'll have to figure out your own delay for Platinum, but personally I find I can hit 599-601 with fairly rapid A taps (but not hand-cramping button mashing).

Been wondering, will there be any features on RNG Reporter, that will let you find the shiny nature spread instead of SR'ing for it? Instead of SR'ing, catching a wild pokemon, then entering in the IV's to have a chance to find a spread you want, will there be a feature that lets you look for it (Tells you what day/month/year/time/offset/delay to hit)?

Platinum sucks. I'll just do it all on Pearl.

In method 1/J, does it advance the RNG if a journal page shows pokemon you've had traded to you as opposed to pokes you encountered/caught?

Hay :>

Just a few minutes ago I had an epiphany and realized what I was doing to make my seconds so horribly off.
Now I can accomplish 14 seconds each time I reset with a delay range of 597-603 ish :'D The only thing I'm still a bit confused about is determining the frame with an NPC.

So I save after turning off the journal, wait for an NPC to move, grab the egg, catch a wild pokemon, and then hatch the egg to determine my frame...? And if I turn the game off afterwards without saving, will the frame stay the same if I grab the egg at the same time everytime the NPC moves (if i'm looking to advance a frame)?

And where does the running buneary fit into the equation / how could I use that in conjunction? I assume I need to pay attention to both the buneary's movements and the cowgirls' movements? D:

I'm sorry, you probably get the same questions all the time, heheh. I'll be skimming through the previous posts now, too. I'm so close *A*

All NPCs in Solaceon, both on and off screen advance the RNG. I used a buneary at first, but, after a few projects it became unreliable. I just re-save when I need to change my offset.

I've tested the rotom's frame, it is also definatly 1. Thought I would say that because it didn't have frame up in Method J pokes, and I wanted my name up for testers lol

I've got every part but this, anyone?
6. Find you location (seconds, delay, and frame) in the list of Adjacent results based on the IVs of the egg. Please note that you may right click in the list of adjacent results and output the entire list to a csv file. This file can be opened in notepad or a spreadsheet, which may make it easier to search.

Alternatively, you may opt to immediately capture a Pokemon and enter it's information into the initial seed finder. This will tell you the Delay and Seconds value, letting you know if those were correct before you spend any time hatching the egg. You may then select "DPPt Breeding" and generate a result list to find your frame after you have hatched the egg and determined its IVs.

Does this just tell you if you hit your spread, and how far off, if not?

here's Step by Step.

1.) Save in front of an egg.

2.) Reset at HH:MM:00, and tap A fast and keep tapping until you initiate the conversation with the Daycare Man.

3.) Take the egg.

4.) Go catch a pokemon.

5.) Input all the information into the Seed Finder in RNG Reporter. When you hit generate, the seed you find will have your Seconds and Delay. Jot those down. Select the Seed and hit ok.

6.) Hatch the egg, or use IV check on the Egg. Now, choose the method Breeding (DPPt). Hit Generate. You will get a bunch of spreads that look like (x/x/B/x/B/A) Use the knowledge of Parents A and B's IVs and the IVs of the baby to find the spread that matches. Note it's Frame/Offset. That is the Frame/Offset you are looking for.

Yup, that's what I did *_*
If I turn the game off immediately without saving and restart the same way though, does my frame stay the same? Assuming no NPCs moved, of course.

Kay, thanks DP, but wait why are we looking for the frame/offset, in case of unclarity, what/how is it used?
Last, IV check on egg should only be able to be done on D/P right?

The frame is the specific spread you got for the egg at the specific time~

The point is to grab your egg and match the stats with the list of frames you generated and see which frame's spread you got so you can change your frame (by influencing it with NPC movements or saves) based on what you need from there. I think. *_*

Thanks Rona
I'mma still check if anyone else posts, cause you don't seem sure :)
No offense

Sephirona is mostly right. Except instead of trying to influence your frame to get the target spread, it's a lot easier to figure out what frame you get most often and look for another spread under that frame.

Note that you have more control over your frame by using the journal flips, since each page flip with a caught\defeated Pokemon on it increases it by 2. Way more control then trying to time the NPC's movements. It's best all around to have the journal pop up at all times when breeding for specific IVs.

Oh wow, really? *_* I didn't think of using the journal since it seems to contradict the directions written on the first page (i.e. cancel the journal and save after you change the clock to make it go away) but that does make sense. Thanks! More control is great~

Does using the journals to tweak my frame mean I should already know what my frame is prior to doing so, though? (More like, if I turn the game off immediately without saving and reset, does my frame stay the same? Assuming no NPCs move and I haven't flipped any more or any less journal pages. Then I'd be able to go from there and flip pages to the frame I want...?)

Yeah, your frame stays the same, assuming you more-or-less get the same timing each time. Then you can flip pages to increase it to the frame you want.

That advice really ought to be taken off the OP...

Doing the flips isn't the best way to go always. I checked the lists genereated and a good frame didn't come up till over 1000, sometimes over 10,000.

Whaaaa?? I'm using 4.60, could you tell me in detail how to use that feature? I have no idea how/what to do..

I think what are asking for is a shiny egg PID time finder? If so, it's something that will probably happen at some point, but there are some other things prioritized before it.

what importantance does the column coin hold when your hatching a shiny?

Not much, but you can use it when you are to the part where you are doing your coin flips to see if they match your results. It will at least let you know if you are going to hit your target frame.

For example - If your egg is on frame 8 and you are supposed to flip the coin 7 times the coin flips column will match the actual coin flips you make.

Removing it complicates the instructions (how to manipulate it has to be explained), so I am hesitant to do this and have really been considering just adding your method to a tips/advanced section.

Some questions - Does this actually help at all with consistency or is it really just useful for being able to target higher frame numbers? If I am going to change the OP or add it as a hint I really need an end to end usage scenario (and I apologize if you have already posted one and I missed it, if so just say so and I will go back and find it).
