Hello Smogon! I am fairly new here but am getting the hang of issues and how things work around here. Inspired by the recently created Pokemon Riddle thread, I decided to create an "examination" to test your competitive Pokemon knowledge! So jump at it and see how you do! But make sure you read the rules...

Rules:
  • You are allowed to use a damage calculator. The only permitted one (the best one) is the Libelldra's Forge Calculator.
  • You are allowed to use Any Smogon Resource, ranging from articles to analyses.
  • You are allowed to use Bulbapedia, a source to cross-check your answers if required.
  • You are not permitted to use anything else, not even Serebii. Be honest!
  • Share what you got by voting on the poll!
  • Speaking of honesty, you may take the quiz more than once, but please enter the score you got on your first try as the poll answer!

i got 2 wrong, because i answered YES on the true/false question, and i had no idea on the CRO slp talk question. A few questions seemed a bit odd..
I'm on the last question now, might submit my answer in a week...
edit: i thought smogon was using 3 tiers on shoddy? (Uber, OU, and UU) (didn't think suspect would count)
 
I stopped because I missed several on subjective things, or things that were just wrong (answering "Seventeen" for types gave me a result of "Incorrect").
 
A few of these questions are actually wrong, such as the number of active tiers. I have PMed the OP accordingly.
 
I don't get why you don't take words as answers. For example, "two" doesn't work for a correct answer of 2. Also, some questions had multiple answers, so yeah not so successful.
 
I really don't get how this is supposed to reliably test competitive battling knowledge, as a lot of this stuff seems like trivia and for the most part things I probably would never need to know (why would knowing what forum I need privilege to post in have any affect on how competent I am concerning the metagame?) Also, some of the questions are worded awkwardly, such as the True/False question "Suppose MAGNEMENCE (Magnezone and Salamence) and GYARAZONE (Gyarados and Magnezone) are defensive walling combos. Can both resist EACH and EVERY type!?" whose last sentence indicates a Yes/No response.
 
It's a nice concept, and was quite a fun quiz, but you really should make sure that you accept all right answers. Getting "seventeen" and "two" wrong when it should be 17 and 2 is annoying, as is getting the actual number of active tiers wrong.
 
Yeah, there were a good number of errors in that quiz.

"words" =/= digits when it comes to numbers <_<

I'm guessing you were looking for a specific moveset on that last question though *ahem*.
 
I put 3 instead of 2 on the dual screens question because i thought it included Smeargle DOH!
and i wrote six instead of 6 and got it rong dam. Oh and I put Suspect testing site and it was policy review? Dont you also need rights for the suspect testing? Dam and on the True and false question i put no and got it rong. I used metalkids for the forry question because I always use it and it's always good and easier to use and got like 23 percent so assuming it hit for minimum damage the whole time it must be 5?

What did you guys put for the bliss set I put a focus punching set. Jkz I did a RD support.

Generally a sloppy exam with the rules being so strict as not to allow you to write numbers in words! It was fun though

Yeah, well the test said I was wrong when I put two. Is this test correct itself? Smeargle AND Starmie can both execute dual screens. 6 is not a word, and it says 1 word, so SIX should be correct.
 
dumb. the number of tiers was wrong. when it asked how many types there were it said 2 words. the answer was 17. i stopped after those two occured in the first 6 questions

The test wanted Starmie and Forry and i thought it wanted smeargle to so i put 3 that was so gay i shouldve got only 2 wrong the Snorlax and the retarded cradilly couldn't be arsed to figure out the cradily one so I put Ttar lawl
 
Bleh, I would have gotten a decent score had I not made 2 stupids (I forgot Spiritomb didn't have levitate for some reason <_<)
 
For the people complaining about "seventeen" and "two," you should probably just read closer because he clearly says "numbers please." The "1 word" thing is probably automatically generated by the program.

I got 76%. :( I didn't use any form of help though. CRO baffled me, as did the SpDef one, and some others that I can't remember.

Edit: Also, what does MagneMence not resist? >.<
 
The Snorlax was easy, dudes. Basically, 350 x 4.
That one and the Cradily one were cool.

There were some that were kinda dumb.
The ones about Smogon specifically were unnecessary.
And the strictness was unnecessary as well. The true of false question was wrong because I say "yes". :| Same for "six" instead of "6".
 
There are 6 tiers? Hmmm

Besides that I thought this quiz was actually pretty fun, especially with this

I messed up the Snorlax one >__>
I put yes on Magnemence and got wrong...
On question four you mean including, right?
One of the Heatran answers is wrong, its 95 not 94.

Although, some questions were just wrong or they didn't acccept my answer. For example:

-Number of Tiers
-number or rapid spinning dual screeners is 3(smeargle, starmie, and foretress)
-I answered yes instead of true x_x

It was pretty fun though
