Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Are you sure you're hitting your delay? If not, then there's no chance you'll get the one your aiming for. Or maybe it's that a NPC in the route is moving around, messing w/ your frame.

You should find a location with no wandering NPCs as they advance the RNG (stationary ones or ones that follow a fixed pattern are OK). Do the coin flips to check that you are hitting your second and delay.

Well it turns out that it wasn't the Iv spread I wanted and it also turns out that it wasn't one of the 3 spreads listed so I don't really know what happened there.

I can confirm this *under windows 7 RC1*

Well, I can't possibly have messed up, since I did everything as instructed.

Load game, catch, get seed, fly solaceon, put parent, get 5 eggs, hatch. I didn't touch the poketch. Parents have nothing equipped.

What could possibly have gone wrong there?

OK, I tried again.

Started game, caught this:
Dugtrio
Rash
Thoroughly cunning
104/100/71/79/80/143

Flew to Solaceon.
Deposited pogeys in PC, grabbed a Bibarel (caught on this cart)

Threw in daycare with Ditto there (caught on this cart too)

Got this:
Timid F 1
Careful F 1
Calm M 0
Timid M 0
Brave F 1

Mingot asked me to test this, so I simulated your situation:

I set my DS clock to a necessary date/time that would give me the seed (CE120299), and reset my game until I achieved that seed. Then, because the two compatible parents in my party happened to be international, I put them in the Day-Care and hatched the first five eggs. The natures predicted for International Parents in RNG reporter matched the ones I actually hatched. Then just to be sure, I swapped the parents for non-international ones, and repeated the process. Again, the natures hatched matched the ones predicted by RNG Reporter.

Not sure what you're doing wrong, but after testing this I can guarantee you it's not the fault of the program.

Every time I find a good spread in the Time Finder, and it's a delay that I can hit, I can NEVER get it.

Should I soft-reset for awhile and see what my most common delay is? I've tried this before, but I used a calculator to average it out.

By the way, does anyone know if there is an "average" delay just like there was an "average" second (15)?

Don't average your delay. The objective of calibration is to find the range of your delays. As far as I know no-one is skilful enough to hit a certain delay every time. You need to search in your range and hope to hit the delay you were aiming for.

Well, I did as I said. So, if it's not the fault of the program or mine... I'm among the exceptions? XD

Any specific range, like should I have a Range of 5, such as 610 / 615?

And THANK YOU for clarifying that. I really struggle with the delay.

I don't believe in exceptions in the world of softwares, so either you are doing something wrong, or you're reading something wrong from the program, but if everyone else here say that RNG Reporter works, thats because it works.

Hey guys, I'm really sorry if i'm being a bit thick here, and i've missed the information. But, when sweet scenting a wild poke, is the pokemon that appears random? I'm guessing it's not? I've seen some posts that seam to confirm this, but it doesn't beat a nice simple Yes / No answer at times.

I'm after a Ditto in the trophy garden for breeding purposes, i've hit the right seed twice, and produced a Female Roselia with the IV's twice now. I know the Gender is linked in with the spread.

Well, I'm not :/

I posted everything I did. I'm trying over again.

So far: I did - Turned on game and hit the continue button at 22:22

Got a seed of D91602C5

2 compatible parents, international.

Right now I got the 5 eggs. I'm cycling to get em to hatch.

First egg: Naughty - RNGP reports gentle.... :/

@ ClikC: The extra frame that is used in Sweet Scent is used to select the encounter, so each spread is locked to a specific Pokemon. You will always get Roselia with that spread. There is some information now on determining what will appear.

@ BarrelRoll: 5 is a very good delay range. If you can get that, you are doing well. Most people start out with at least a delay range of 10.

Cheers for clearing that up, saves me SRing for nothing. Is there a way to determine what spread will generate which poke? If possible with refrence to the trophy garden mons? Even some links to articles or posts would be of help. Sorry to be a pain.

Ok, now this is really pissing me off... Could you guys give me step by step what to do, because right now i'm starting to doubt my comprehension of the english language.

Get pokemon, fly to solaceon, put parents to breed, get eggs, profit. Everything's fine until last step, which is a massive phailure! >.<;

News! It works so far!

I changed to route 229 and caught a Graveler. Got a seed of D116026D.

I flew to Solaceon and dropped my female Trapinch. Got the eggs, and hatched them...

On the first one: I got a Careful female, the program predicted a female Hardy. I was preparing to give up and decided to check for normal mode.

Surprise: it coincides!

Hatched the second egg, got a Bashful male as predicted by the software. Now I'm trying to get the third one hoping it'll be a Timid Male, with Arena Trap. And bingo!

My questions now: 1. How come the normal mode works so far, when my parents are from 2 different cartridges of different languages (french and US)?
2. I changed hardware (DS lite -> normal DS). Should this influence anything?

Nothing, it only means your parents are not international. You should have tried this before stating that the program was defective.

A good way to see if parents are international is to attach an everstone to the appropriate monster and see if it works. Also, if you would like to trade those to someone to have a closer look at I am sure that can be arranged.

EDIT: Most of my testing has been on a DS lite, and if it did not work on one or the other I think we'd know, so this can be ruled out.

I never said the program was defective... You guys infered that. I was only asking what's wrong.

But as I stated before, I checked with the normal listing too, and it didn't match at all before either.

So it must mean the parents are not international. If I knew where that Trapinch came from...

Does anyone else RNG abuse with an R4? I've been soft resetting to hit one of my common delays for hours with no luck and I've noticed my delay randomly changing from even to odd. Any tips?

Insert or remove a GBA cartridge or re save. I suggest doing the first one if possible, since it's better to know if you can.

I do this with a R4, but my delay only changed from even to odd without a save once, and it annoyed me as hell. Anyway, normally it only changes from odd to even when you save.
