OK, I have finally got my NU tier server up and running, and we HAVE A LADDER!!!

Until I get it on the registry, one has to access it via "Advanced" on the Shoddy Battle Servers Welcome Window, and type in "nutier.zapto.org" into the Host field, and "20000" into the Port field.

Later I'm hoping to analyse the ladder logs for usage statistics as well.

Join up, chat strategy, build a team, and get involved!

I think I love you. ;_;

NU FUCK YEAH!

Played two matches of NU since there's a dedicated server, and I love it, no matter how bad my team is.

Making a better one now, though. Thanks underdawg.

So I'd have to say that crits are some of the gayest things ever.

And Regice pwns. Tangrowth was better than Leafeon, but then it ran away to UU.

While this is a bit off-topic, how do I breed Wish onto Eevee?

Regice has that poor, poor SR weakness. Plus, Flareon, Medicham and Mixed Ninetales (with Flare Blitz) tear it apart. Although it utterly owns special attackers.

This is sweet. I played a game or two last night, my general thoughts:
- Hail teams probably won't be as common as anticipated, because Snover can't do anything. I guess you could get someone to set up hail, but...
- CM Chesto Drifblim works well as both a spin blocker and a wannabe Mismagius. There are more spinners in this tier than the others, and with the amount of SR weak Pokemon, ghosts will probably become common.
- Gardevoir is great
- There are a few bugs that can try and pull a Roserade as a lead, and I expect Venomoth will become the most common.
- Most stealth rock users are too slow to be used as leads, I think, so they may start taking the bulky Swampert route. Marshstomp could be an option only I don't think it learns SR... ? I was thinking maybe Metang or Kecleon could try a TrickScarf set with SR, but probably not.
- Lopunny leads should be interesting!
- Curse Lickilicky... fun.

All in all, it'll be fun to see this metagame develop, thanks a lot to voiceofreason for setting up the server!

Monferno, Bibarel, and Gligar are good SR / Taunt leads. Pinsir has the fastest SR in the tier, but no Taunt.

Snover can attempt SubSeed, I think. Sandstorm teams work fairly well, with all the nice Rock Pokemon. Hipoppotas has SR, Yawn, Toxic, and Roar for support moves. Shuckle and Cradily make people cry.

You can always use Ice Shard on Snover for a mildly useful priority attack. Seeing as he's sort of a team member sacrificed for the hail, he may as well serve as a revenge killer of sorts.

I find Sneasel is a fantastic lead. Inner Focus, Taunt, Fake Out, and being the fastest Pokemon in the tier makes for a good lead. :)

It speed ties with Persian unfortunately, but Persian can't flinch it, which is good (this reminds me of Crobat and Ambipom from UU).

THANK YOU! An NU tier to use... we can get places with this! The testing shall begin, and with prior testing, I believe that medicham will become the Scizor of NU.

No, seriosly. With a band, pure power, and Mach Punch or Bullet Punch, he is like a cannon. Can he take half health off of a pokemon who is not weak to it in one hit? No, but it is a good revenge killer anyway. Also, no Magnazone to trap it :) . It can also run a Scarf set, a non-revenge killing Band set, Life Orb, ect all.

Other then the awesome Chammy, I don't see another broken force in the tier. Even the third most powerful special wall in the game (besides bliss and chancey) has it's weaknesses, like SR. I can imagine Cradily making it, since Hippo is WAY to weak to be banned. I can also see... Leafeon maybe? I don't know! That's the fun of a new tier - After the biggest forces in the tier leave, no one knows who is broken until they play! And now that we have a tier, we can test freely!

Man I've been playing around NU recently and I don't know if it's just me; but does anyone else find certain things like gardevoir and walrein a bit....overpowered?

I wouldn't know about Gardevoir. It is way too easy to kill with Skuntank.

As for Walrein, the only way it possibly becomes broken is with Snover support, meaning that if it does turn out to be broken, it is Snover that should get banned.

With regards to Medicham, it can make decent use of priority, but not with Choice Band. Using Fake Out + Bullet Punch it can work as a mini Hitmontop revenge killer. I believe Heysup used something like this on one of his early teams.

Yeah, we should honestly start doing our own suspect testing on a different forum or something. Not to secede from Smogon, but moreso to get started on it.

SubCham is nice because the recoil of HJK doesn't hurt it.

I'm actually the only person I've seen using Hail Stall in NU and everyone seems to bitch about how broken Walrein is, but it isn't more broken that it is in any other tier, and people are failing to realize that. If it has a Sub up, any sweeper without Leftovers or some form of stopping it like, say, Taunt / Encore / Perish Song, is going to fail to it, no matter what tier it may be.

Besides, Hail will not see much use in NU due to Snover being pratically useless, as even a Sassy 252 HP / 252 SpD set eats over 50% from a Specs'd Exeggutor's Leaf Storm.

However, it anything is to be banned, let it be Walrein and not Snover, absolutely shutting down Hail due to one Pokémon wouldn't be very wise.
