why would you want a move that drops your special attack two stages on a special attacker that isn't hit and run
So if a Pokémon is flawless physical (31/31/31/x/31/31), its Hidden Power type will be either Dark or Electric, and its Hidden Power base power will be either 59 or 70? Likewise, for flawless special (31/x/31/31/31/31), it will be Dark or Dragon, and 68 or 70? I've never really learned how Hidden Power works (I've just taken the IV spreads that people have given me for a desired Hidden Power), but I came across this while sorting mingot's spreadsheets of good IVs for RNG abuse and want to make sure I haven't made a mistake somewhere. Basically, the hidden power type depends on each stat's IVs being either odd or even. It's like on-off switches. Odd adds some points to the Hidden Power value total, while even doesn't, and each stat is worth different # of points, and the final sum of the points will determine the Hidden Power type.
Likewise, the hidden power base power depends on each of the 6 stats' IVs being odd or even after dividing by 2 (rounding down). Odd adds points to the base power value, while even doesn't. That's why usually if we don't want a 31 in a stat, we'd want 30, since both 31 and 30 divided by 2 (after rounding down) equal 15, which is odd, which will increase the base power. For Hidden Power base power of at least 65, we'd want the last 3 stats (SpA/SpD/Speed) to be either 30 or 31 (depending on which Hidden Power you want).

for some stupid reason the programing for the RNG just doesn't allow for some combinations in legendarys or something like that. Stupid programers probably just forgot to work that out :/ It is just a game you know ;D

I thought it did until I read somewhere that worked only in the third generation.

Edit:The box trick is a way to EV train level 100 pokemon.You first delete all of their EVs with EV reducing berries.Then you EV train it normaly and in the end you place it back to the box.That way the EVs will be calculated.

Not on Lv100s. No experience gain for Lv100s means no EVs for them. It does work with things that aren't at Lv100 though, like if you EVed an Azelf without it leveling up, you could box and unbox it to get the EVs to "kick in".

What pokemon does the Wifi community lack? I mean, is there any pokemon that isn't really common, and is needed (I expect there be loads o DD Gyarados, but not many Lopunnies, for example). Basically, what should I breed next (don't want to breed something common), as I'm starting a new trade thread.

Rotom-A, Giratina-O, and Shaymin-S are not usable over Wi-Fi. Celebi and Jirachi aren't very common because they are only available from a few events that have already concluded and are not always resettable.Not really a question with a definitive answer, but...

A shiny legendary with perfect Spd, near perfect SAatk, and overall waaaay above average other IVs...
Come on. Stop flaunting it. XD
In Ubers, Mewtwo generally does special sweeping better, since it has better Speed and Special Attack; most people use Baton Pass Mew with Rock Polish, Nasty Plot or Swords Dance to set up something like Groudon or Kyogre for a sweep.
Actually, those are two completely different scenarios. Technician is based on the move's Base Power. In the case of Swift, the Base Power is 60, regardless of STAB, so both calculations are applied, getting you a total power of 135. In the case of Payback, taking damage raises the Base Power of the attack, meaning Technician does not apply.
As long as the Base Power is 60 or less, Technician applies, and the order of operations shouldn't matter except in corner cases. Otherwise, Technician does not apply.
Also, HP Ground 67 is definitely usable for covering steel types if Focus Blast's accuracy is an issue. I'd keep without question also.danoziami said:
