gonna shoot for Zapdos tonight (*pow!*)

What (if any) NPCs do I have to worry about while talking to Oak, and is there any way to overcome them aside of just mashing A and hoping for the best?

No NPCs have gotten in my way when dealing with the birds. Oak is nice and stationary. :-)

I'm having a hell of a time encountering my shiny Heatran right now. I've tried this 3 times now and got it wrong every time:

The Frame is 150

1. Hit flips.
2. Do 72 journal flips.
3. Walk 128 steps with 5 pokemon in party.
4. Encounter.

I successfully encountered it once when I walked 129 steps. I'm absolutely positive I did this correctly the most recent time. Anyone see a problem here?

Could you have miscounted...? I think knowing the seed you're aiming at might help eliminate some possibilities...

On another note, did you ever run into multiple shiny patches while chaining? This might help me figure out how the Radar works in more detail.

I'm about 95% sure I didn't miscount. This Heatran has given me fits. And yes, I have encountered 2 shiny patches on the same reset on several occasions. It's really cool. :P

can someone help me on RNGing for zapdos? I'm not sure how to get a good spread for it as the guide doesn't really explain what to do. I'm confused when it says that the nature/iv's are created after some RNG calls. what does that mean for RNG abusing? Also, when are the iv's created? I've gotten the national dex but haven't talked to Oak once.

Use the directions for selecting a spread.

how much journal flips would i need to do?

just say i was on frame 4 and i wanted to be on frame 8

If you do the frame calibration you will see which frame you actually land on. If you land on frame 4 then you flip the page twice but it has to say "caugh/defeated" pokemon on them.

I found out, if you don't have "caught/defeated" on the page it pops up with when you start the game you'll land on frame 2/3 (if you're spamming A button). Otherwise you'll land on frame 4/5 with the journal popping up with "caught/defeated"

For some absurd reason I somehow landed on frame 6 once =/, dunno how but meh.

i know how to rng abuse ive done it before lol

edit: i dont get how yours popped up like that and i always spam a button and land on a random frame

for the times i done frame calibration i hit frame 2 5 6 and 7 consistently and used that for my iv abusing xD

and all those numbers that i have gotten in the past is just journal popping up without saying caught defeated pokemon

i was just saying frame 4 as an example
i havnt started this breeding project yet

i could maybe get frame 2 most from my frame calibration when i start

i found this spread that on frame 8 in rng reporter for max hidden power

my journal doesnt even say caught or defeated pokemon by just looking at it now should i catch random pokemon to make the journal say that and once that in my journal and i flip to that page does that advance the frame by 2 i would do the flipping once i start rng abusing on this pokemon

what if i flip to a page where it doesnt say caught/defeated pokemon what does that do to the frame

I always catch a pokemon on two seperate days so that I can flip easily to advance my frame by 2 each time.

If on a journal page it does NOT say caught/defeated, it will not advance the frame at all.

hmm i see

so just say i caught a random pokemon today then changed the date then caught another pokemon on some other day then changed it again so the journal will pop up without saying caught or defeated pokemon

when do i do the flips once i worked out what frame i hit
i hope i hit even frame otherwise i wouldnt get to frame 8

and once i do the flips does that mean it will stay on that frame edit: or do i have to do the flips everytime i try to hit my delay

Erm, depending when you last saved with a caught pokemon the journal will pop up with or without the caught/defeated. If it doesn't say caught/defeated then you are on frame 0/1?(I think) and any other frame means the NPCs have increased it. You also have to flip it every time.

For example, I just started my game, I know from calibration I will land on frame whatever say frame 4. I'm aiming for frame 8 so I will flip the journal twice on caught/defeated page which SHOULD advance to frame 8, or rather advance it to frame 4 then the extra 4 will be advanced during the step you take the egg from the day-care man.
Then obviously check your time/delay by doing the flips

Hey guys! 'tis I the useless one!

So many of you may know the situation already. So today I went to a friend's house and took platinum while I was soft-resetting for IVs. I thought fug it and went to the Battle Factory and we had some fun there, but of course you have to save before going in.

My question is, since I saved but did not collect the egg would it be possible for me to go back and save on the egg again? I guess I would have to calibrate the frame however and choose a different spread. And can anyone give me tips on how to save so that the NPCs don't move as much?

Thanks for your continued support!

Anyone?

If you didn't collect it, but it's still the same egg..then you can just make another save and reset for IVs. There's no real foolproof way of ensuring the NPCs dont move, you just have to get lucky.

Destiny100, the Nature, Ability, and Gender of an egg are all decided when the Old Man is holding your egg. So yes, you can save in front of him, hope that you can hit your frame, and get the IV's you want.

Thanks, but I wasn't the one asking the question lol.
Just bred this

How the hell did you do that :(

I'm currently having problems with Wichu's PokeRNG program. I enter everything specified but then the CSV files it creates are blank...

I really am depressed that other people can do this with ease and I'm just left floundering like a magikarp and getting pissed off when the cowgirls move. -.-

I tried using Wichu's PokeRNG but tbh I prefer the standard RNG program. Basically just find what frame you get when you retrieve the egg then try and find a suitable spread. I either land on frame 2/3 so I have a few spreads ready on frame 10/17 depending what frame I saved on.

I tried doing this too; everyone kept telling me to recalibrate for a good save but the NPCs kept moving differently when I finally hit my correct time and delay. Usually I was just one frame ahead or behind. Since you can't predict what the NPCS will do until you hit your time/delay, just focus on that first. Once you get it, you can calibrate directly to the seed itself. Just hit your time/delay, do the flips, and keep hitting A like you normally do, then find what frame you landed on. THEN you can figure out how many journal flips you'll need without having to guess what frame you're hitting. If you're one frame early, you don't need to recalibrate a new save - just hit your time/delay and give the NPCs a little bit longer (usually a quarter second or two, maybe more) to advance the frame once more before you grab the egg. It took me two tries to get the right one, but it worked. If you're a single frame late, subtract a journal flip and do the same thing.

@Waterfiend, what you said about NPC's moving around different is true up to a point.

If you stand directly behind the old man while he's facing east, and the cowgirl you see on screen is one step below the horizontal fence facing west. Also with the Bunary/Parischu on screen. You'll normally hit the same frame each time. I've experimented with this.

Also, never save when you can predict the cowgirl on screen is moving. She should be facing west for a fair few seconds. Sometimes she will face west and then immediately face east. You want to avoid this.

If I have time on the weekend I'll take a picture of when I save and post it, I found it works effectively. Although I can't garuentee exactly the amount of frames will advance when I take the egg, I can be pretty certain that I will hit this frame very often. So after finding what frame I landed on, I find the spread accordingly. It helps with good parents. With the Murkrow breed, I did it with a totodile but instead of the 31 Sp.D Iv i got one between 22-26 because of a bad parent =[

oh okey thanks for the help

this is going to be annoying flipping the journal every time to try hitting my delay

I have a question. If I breed a shiny egg through RNG and trade the egg to another game will the Pokemon still be shiny? If not is there anyway to get a shiny egg and trade it? Thanks for your time. :)

@squirtlesquad14: No it wont be shiny anymore

Now I have a question. When I go to the emloop, if I typ something the page is blanco it doesnt show anything. I even dont see the time 0:00 that normally should be there. here is a picture:

EDIT: when I upload it it doesnt work on smogon. Please go to this link:
