Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Yes, you would need your timid syncher in the lead slot when you talk to and release your runner.

Alright, thanks.

But another matter arises, when looking for my Timid spread in Method J, it cannot find it's spread, is there a reason for this, does this mean I can't get it as method J 0_o?
EDIT: I put in a syncher, and the frame appeared, does that mean I have to bring a Pokemon with the ability Synchronise and Timid nature to get the Pokemon generated in method J with a syncher?

If you are RNGing the birds, aren't they Method 1 pokemon, not method J?

If you are talking about other pokemon, however, then that is correct.

Im going for Azelf this time around, I decided to go after Mesprit afterwards.
But when you talk to it, and it show up it's image, does it show up shiny or still normal? (Mesprit)

Ok, for like the 3-4 people or however many who have done it, for ID abuse, did anyone have any issues with only getting even delays in odd years or vice versa, or something similar to that? I spent 2 hours yesterday trying to hit an odd delay in 2009, and I continuously hit the even numbers on each side, thinking "oh I barely missed it." I honestly don't even remember though if I ever hit any random odd ones or not. Finally I changed the year to 2010, and I hit my delay (8561) the first time. My GBA cart had no affect on the delay in either case. Maybe some info about this could be included in the post on the front page if someone could confirm?

I've been working on the Java version of PokeRNG, and I have a GUI made and ready to go. Here it is. If you have any ideas on how to make it better (and I'm sure you do- I am not an artist :)), I'm all ears.

The GUI:

What do you think?

EDIT: There isn't a Synch nature box yet because I can't decide whether to put it in the main GUI, or make it a pop-up upon hitting Start with Method J or K selected.

From my experience, and from what iv'e seen, the GBA cart does NOT effect your delay in this case, I am not 100% certain of this tough.

I'm using Emloop (Syberia's method), and since my number in the "seconds" box is 32.58, I searched for a spread with a seconds value of 32. I keep ending up with a seconds value of 33 when I check my seed. My delay is still in the right area. Should I just search for a spread with 33 seconds, rather than 32? Should I add the .2 seconds to the "pre-reset timer" box?

Just go for 33 seconds as that .2 second could change your delay..but not by much...anywho it happens to me all the time since I don't start the timer precisely at x.00 sec when my iPod Timer reaches the time I need to start emloop

Just my luck... as soon as I changed from 32 to 33, I started getting all my seconds at 32. When I changed back to 32, they went back to 33 again! Aaargh! I've NEVER had any trouble with the seconds before... just the delays, but tonight it seems to be the other way around. Any other suggestions?

Sorry, I should have specified, but the issue of GBA carts affecting the delay was not really my concern. I pretty much expected it to not have an effect since you aren't really in-game when going through the process of starting a new game. Rather it was that I was only able to hit even delays in 2009, and then able to hit my target odd delay by simply changing the year. It could save some people time to know this up front if this is the case for all games.

slot for frame 55 and 57 is 0, which means a pichu.
all roamers captured before I tried out RNG, so no ones around.
seed: c8060263 on frame 56.
tried seed 11010261 on frame 22 after that, same result: encountered the right pokemon but IVs and nature are one frame above.

as mentioned, Ive captured a ditto before and I havent changed anything until now so I havent the slightest idea why it doesnt work this time.

no one an idea?

The GUI looks great, pikachu25! I don't see anywhere to input your delay range, though. Also, I'm not sure whether or not there is going to be a WonderCard option under "Method", but if not, then an "any" option in the "Nature" drop-down menu would be nice. An "any" option under "Hidden Power Type" would be great too, if it's not already there. Just out of curiosity, do you use the same searching/sorting algorithm(s) that Wichu does?

Ah oups. XP
Yeah that is odd...=/ I think it happened to me once or twice..but I my attempt were for year 2009 only, it sometimes, rarely happens in breeding too..., are you certain you just hitted your SID/ID combo that was (8561) and when you hitted AT 2010, it changed to (8562) cause the advancement of year without you noticing? Or did you have it wrong and check the delay afterwards?

Misdreavus: If you have a timer that list the millasecond, (before emloop) start emloop when the timer reaches the desired second and not when it's about too to start at the precise second. When I do this it usaly goes to my desired seconds ( not always ) and the timer actually starts at x.34 sec. since I pressed spacebar at the same time as the timer reached a new second..and I obviously don't have the reflex to start them @ the exact time at the instant itreaches that new second...Anywho I hope you understand what I just typed..XP Sorry if it's hard to understand, I have touble constructing systax properly...and I had that problem before as well, it's just a matter of finding a way to make it so it always hit's the desired second, tough that's really the nly advice I can give you, maybe someone else will have a better solution
Hopefully you'll be able to hit that second

Thanks for catching the delay thing, I had forgotten it >.<!

Any for Nature and Hidden Power Type are at the top of their respective lists, I had scrolled down. I use the same sorting algorithm for method 1, so the frames will be off for that, but the method J frames will be true. What it does to find the method J frames is exactly what most people do, it finds the method 1 spreads, goes to the seed, and searches that seed for matching method J spreads. I will update the GUI and repost it, and see what people think.

Current methods supported are methods 1, 2, 3, J, K, and all three Emerald Breeding types (normal, split, and both). I hope to include DPPt Breeding, Wondercard IVs, and whatever else I can fit in there in later version of the program.

Hello I have a question concerning pokeradar RNG, I ma trying to RNG a shiny baltoy but it is turning out to be difficult getting the baltoy to appear in the sparkling patch to start the chain. My question is that if any progress has been made concerning encounter slots for the pokeradar or do i just have to keep trying randomly hoping for a baltoy to appear in the sparkling patch?

thanks you for any help

Updated GUI for JavaRNG!

The GUI Default Settings:

Once again, any suggested improvements are awesome!

Just a quick Q. Would this version still output the info in a Notepad and Excell file? Just curious. Looks beautiful, and looks like it has all the options a guy like me will ever need! :D

The first versions will. Later versions will write to the Notepad and Excel files, but also contain an area where results are displayed as they are found, like in RNG Reporter.

That would be so nice, especially for new usuers. The first time I used the "current" program, I was like, "...sooooo... where are the results?!"

When the search is finished, a pop-up will inform the user that the spreads are located in the same directory as the program, so that will help until the real-time box can be added. The only problem I am having with this is that JavaRNG takes about 20-25 minutes to do a full search (the more restrictive your IV selection is, the less it takes. A 30+ in all stats takes about 19 minutes, 15+ took about 25), but it is still faster than RNG Reporter :P. Annoying, but still workable.

Nah, that's nothing. Just the right amount of time to go to Hulu.com and watch the Simpsons or something. Better than 6+ hours! xD
